Within the past six months, Shamim Patel of The Tinnitus Clinic has enabled me to move beyond a feeling of isolation due to my severe hearing loss and tinnitus in both ears. Her skilfulness and expertise in testing, assessing and fitting of my hearing aids has made a huge difference to my life, including the ability to better hear and participate in conversation. The sound therapy element of the treatment programme has already started to retrain my brain in gradually reducing the level of the tinnitus sound that I had been experiencing (mine being high pitched and resembling a mechanical saw noise). Throughout this time, her advice and encouragement in enabling me to fit my aids alongside coping with dexterity issues and narrowness of ear canals has been truly appreciated.
Given that the general approach to tinnitus is ‘nothing can be done’, I was naturally hesitant about seeking help. However, my experience from attending the Tinnitus Clinic is that it is really worthwhile seeking help to bring about change and improve one’s sense of being through improved hearing and reduction of the persistent tinnitus.

I struggled with my tinnitus for three years until I got to a point where it was becoming quite unbearable.

I had an online appointment and then an in-person consultation resulting in being given hearing aids with a tinnitus program. Included were regular meetings and a supply of batteries and ancillaries.

Overall, this service has equipped me to handle my tinnitus; the hearing aids enable me to go about my day paying little attention to the ringing in my head. I could not be without them now.

The follow-up appointments have been great.

If you suffer from this condition, please don't hesitate to contact the Tinnitus clinic.

I started my course of treatment here about two years ago and have found the service both professional and customer-focussed. I bought two sets of bluetooth-enabled hearing devices through the clinic and have had a high level of both medical after care and technical support. The devices have made a big difference to my hearing and greatly reduced the impact of tinnitus on my daily life for which I am very grateful. My hearing is tested regularly and I have access to a skilled audiologist who has been able to provide sound advice and practical assistance whenever needed.

Went for an initial assessment a few weeks after my tinnitus became noticeably louder.

The audiologist was professional and clearly very knowledgeable. After conducting her assessment she shared her findings which I found very informative and reassuring.

I had many questions which were all answered with patience and understanding.

We discussed the treatments which were available, although the audiologist could have pushed the treatments on me she didn’t.

She actually encouraged me to try my best to habitualise, as in the past I had been able to do this when my tinnitus was quieter. Also because she said there was a chance for the tinnitus might go down as it had only recently flared up that we could revaluation the situation after giving it some time.

She said if I wasn’t able to do this we could looks at the treatments we’d previously discussed.

I’m happy I took her advice, I have been able to habitualise somewhat and the treatments are there should I feel the need to use them.

Overall very professional.

Thank you Tinnitus Clinnic 🙂

Ive had Tinnitus for 3 decades, but it had recently got worse. The Tinnitus Clinic is the third specialist I have gone to on Harley St. in the last 5 years. The others seemed to do hearing problems first and tinnitus second. These guys go straight to the tinnitus, and for the first time I feel I’m properly diagnosed and comforted I’m not unusual or alone. Tinnitus is difficult to treat, but reducing the mental anguish by knowing there is someone there to help is worth a lot.

I have found the instruments that I have been fitted with are now controlling my tinnitus. Very happy so far.

After living with tinnitus for many years I went to the tinnitus clinic for help. I thought the initial cost was quite expensive, but needed help so proceeded.
The initial consultation was a bit primitive, no sound booth or technical equipment as such.
But with that being said, I was set up with hearing aids with acoustic background. After the consultation I expected the noise to reduce or be reversed. Two years on, I still have tinnitus, probably a bit worse than when I started.
The hearing aids do help improve my hearing which pushes the tinnitus into the background. A normal set of hearing aids would do the same I’m sure.

Completely destroyed my life, they gave awful advice regarding my pain hyperacusis and now I can't tolerate any sounds.

The advice they gave is that everyday sounds can't hurt me or make my hyperacusis worse. They suggested using weak ear plugs for social settings. I really needed a professional to take me seriously and tell me to start protecting more.

I don't understand how hearing professionals are so clueless when it comes to pain hyperacusis.

I will now spend the rest of my life in a room wearing hearing protection. I will probably never speak again.

I tried them because their website markets treatments. However when I booked an appointment I had to pay for an audiologist and an ENT. Both of them pretty much said it is in my head 😂. I won’t go into explaining how bad my tinnitus is. But I think this is a complete set-up of a business with utter false marketing. I’m in disbelief that this kind of a business exists in a Regulated field like medicine.
