Ramblers Rest Wateringbury

Discovered this beautiful little place on a motorcycle ride out. We met there on a Wednesday evening and there were lots of different types of bikes. The owners were really sensible about parking and exiting the venue. There is a bar there and menu which catered for fast food on such a busy night.
I revisited the place again on Sunday and had a burger and chips. Great service and really friendly crowd. Lots of activities based here, including paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and small motor boat hire. Definitely going again on Wednesday and probably Sunday again too.

Riverside cafe on the banks of the River Medway, fine menu eat inside or out, looks a bit rustic but 4 out of 5 on cleanliness. Carpark and just a few minutes over Bow Bridge from Wateringbury Station

Went here over King Charles's coronation weekend. Lots of places to sit outside. They had a band playing and it was nice to sit outside next to the river and listen to the music with a cheeky pint and prosecco! The Eton mess I had was absolutely delicious!

Visited with my husband and children. A really lovely lunch. Perfect for sitting by the river and watching the world go by. Friendly staff, lovely food. As a local Tearooms owner I often recommend here for a cooked breakfast and I am glad I do. Will be back on another day off.

Lovely little find down by the river. Spent a pleasant afternoon here with friends. Very friendly owners. It does get busy at times, but they have a good system in place where you get a pager when your food is ready. Also a very friendly cat keeps you company. 😊

A real nice little cafe on the river medway water front in Wateringbury.
Nice freshly cooked food, and very quick service, clean and tidy, dogs are welcome.
If you are down that way totally recommend it.

Great value for money, straightforward, down-to-earth food served up by friendly staff. Burgers, chips, toasted sandwiches - all generous portions - and ice creams and drinks aplenty.

Don't expect too much from the outside portaloo...it is what it is! :-)

It’s definitely up and coming. They’ve started doing motorbike meeting and today the ford r/s club was there. It’s reasonable and you get to sit by the river while eating or drinking. There’s also a full on bar there.

The food was delicious and cooked fresh to order served with a lovely and friendly staff, food and drink options for dietary requirements, sell ice creams and cakes which were nice and refreshing to have, pet friendly and child friendly my son loved the cat the had wondering around, nice music through the radio, offered or dogs water while we ate. plenty of parking on the stones and stones aren't too big for a wheelchair or pram.

Ladies friendly , service is quick , busier times longer but the foods worth waiting for and I'd rather it take longer if cooked and presented well , nice surroundings, I love it here will be back down in November, can't wait ....

Have called in here a couple of times now. Very welcoming with a reasonably priced menu. Sitting outside by the the river is a lovely way to spend some time

Excellent customer service, plenty of delicious vegetarian options and scrumptious puddings. On top of that, the great value for money and friendly cat make this place perfect after a long walk along the river. Highly recommended and can't wait to bring my family along, too, soon !

Great little cafe by the river,very dog friendly - friendly staff and good home cooked food - great location and good parking outside.

After a ramble it's the perfect and amazing place to sit by the river and feast on delicious hot or cold food, cakes and hot and cold beverages on a warm sunny day either eat in or take away. I can fully recommend their veggie all day breakfasts as I always treat myself too one when I'm down that way. Amazing portions, really friendly staff and great great value for money. Pet friendly, boat friendly, child friendly, all tastes and everybody welcomed and catered for. What more could you ask for at such a beautiful location? Just perfect. Makes anyday out by the river at Wateringbury even more special and memorable.

Wow, what a little gem this place is. Run by the sweetest, kindest people. My family were on our paddleboards and went further than we thought. Our children were famished, then we spotted this cafe, but had no cash or card. Kerry gave us food and drink and trusted us to repay her at a later time. What a life saver. Food was delicious and l noticed they serve wine & beer too. We will definitely be back with friends. Thank you so much for making a great day out even better. Wish there were more people in the world like you . X

Extremely friendly staff and people around, amazing views of the river and the food is delicious. There are lots of choices for food and drinks. Would definitely recommend 👍

Lovely family run cafe, reasonably priced with good vegetarian options too. Beautiful location, right by the river.

Coffee is superb in my opinion and the kids loved the choice of ice cream cones with a flake 😉

Great place to stop with the family - dogs are welcome too.

Ramblers' Rest has grown from being a convenient place to pick up a sausage roll and a cuppa to a full menu cafe and bar with great river views and brilliant staff. What's not to love?
