Lyon Zoo

I have no idea how any one could give this place less than 5 stars. It is a free zoo which follows the best possible practices for the circumstances such as having animals who were born into captivity and can’t be released into the wild safely and easily. The animals as well are provided plenty of space to roam and are given shelter from bad weather or humans if they want. As well they had monkeys, giraffes, flamingos and many more animals to see. I went Christmas Day and it was not only open but had plenty of animals out and about

It's so wonderful that we can have kids friendly activities in this park. Free for everyone, yet it has so much to offer. There are playgrounds, indoor and outdoor zoo, garden and few paid parks/facilities as well. Really recommended to those who's planning to spend leisure time in Lyon.

It’s a really nice park I was there by the local recommendation and didn’t disappoint me the park is huge they also have roses garden which is really beautiful. And they have zoo which you can see a lot of animal included giraffes, zebras , flamingos and a lot more. They have bicycles for rent in case you don’t want to walk. You can just take a bus there and all is free entrance! If you have time I recommend this place!!!

A free zoo with an amazing collection of humanely treated animals, definitely worth a visit

What a great day out the zoo is amazing and also completely free of charge. All of the animals are very well cared for and have huge amounts of space. The parc de la tête d’or where the Zoo is located in is absolutely beautiful on a summers day. Bravo Lyon

Great place a full day family trip

Very calm and nice place.. Animals are protected in their natural habitat.. Their is lake and a lot of trees, which makes it a cool place to sit and relax.

Although small.. its has a variety of animals that are fun to see. Walking around is easy and nice.

One of the best places to visit in Lyon with no tickets. There are cafe and bars to drink and have snack

Awesome is one word I can describe the park, it has a wonderful green space to walk around and a zoo with beautiful animals. Also you can chill in front of a gorgeous lake while your kids can play.
The park is huge, so you can have the entire day to enjoy the experience.
Personally, I loved the ducks :)

Lovely zoo, wide range of animals and easily accessible by public transport and car.

The animals seems very well cared. Big place and to see some of them running in an open area space is great. I loved the rescued turtles as well.

Perfect place to visit with family. My son was very Happy to see various animals. nice and calm environment to enjoy a free time. Also what is very important it was pretty safe place! I was really surprised that the zoo was free of charge :)

Impressed with a free entrance zoo could host so many species , even 3 giraffes! It was clean and well maintained.

Beautiful zoo in the big park. One can see there is a lot of effort done to make it look nice, clean and a good place for animals. And it was free to enter!

Pretty nice zoo considering it’s completely free.

It’s free! The animals appear to be well looked after and it located right next to the beautiful botanical gardens. Must see in Lyon. Lions, monkeys, bears, tigers, Giraffe, alligators to name a few.

Still open during COVID, though several exhibits are closed for renovations and maintenance. Great place for a walk to stay outside and distanced while checking out the exterior exhibits.

Nice place to hang out with friends and families especially with little kids. Its free of cost, clean, have lot of open area to roam along side water and fountain (closed often). Zoo has different type of animals, Al caged but healthy and most importantly active. You can see giraffe,lion, deers roam around in open area(not public). Long necked flamingo, different type of ducks, monkeys etc all over the main zoo area.
