El Marqués Hotel Boutique

We chose El Marques to be the reception for our wedding, we made the best choice. From the very beginning we felt very welcomed and cared for, throughout the planning Monica was always very helpful, once the wedding week came, all the other workers went the extra mile to make us and our family feel like home. We are forever thankful for our experience having our party at El Marques, the venue looked fantastic, our guests were fascinated with their drinks and the delicious food the chef prepared. The whole team I will always keep them in my thoughts with enormous gratitude. Alfredo, Juan, Claudia, and everyone else whose name I can’t recall. Thank you!

We stayed at El Marques in August of 2023 and had one of the most incredible hotel experiences we have ever had. The building itself is absolutely stunning and the service is 10/10. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved every moment of our stay. A special shout out to Victor from the restaurant area, who greeted us every morning at breakfast and made the experience truly memorable. We look forward to returning soon!

My husband and I just hosted our wedding at the Marques. It was truly an experience for the books! Our wedding looked like a fairytale wedding inside this gorgeous colonial house full of history. Monica and her team were very attentive and always ready to help us or answer any questions. Monica was very patient with me and always transparent, professional with a positive vibe. We met the owner of the hotel who went above and beyond for us to have the best experience.

The rooms are beautiful and unique, the sitting area and patio is very cool and romantic. The decor fits perfectly with the hotel’s colonial theme.

I want to highlight the servers, house keepers, bar tenders and the CHEF!!!! They truly went above and beyond to create the best wedding vibe by serving all my guests with a smile and the best customer service Colombia has to offer. Our favorite server was Charles! He was the favorite of our guests and the most charismatic and attentive.

The food here is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! I have no idea why this restaurant is not on a “best places to eat” in Cartagena but holy cow! The food tasted like a 5 star restaurant! Thank you so much Chef for creating the most delicious dishes we had in Cartagena and best ceviche & shrimp cocktail we have had in our entire lifes!

I truly recommend this beautiful hidden gem for dinner, a stay or for a wedding. The staff, location, food, drinks was everything! We will never forget you Marques team!!!

It was my first time in Cartagena and am I happy to have stayed in this hotel. The staff was above and beyond kind and helpful with every kind of information and service we need, regardless of it was questions about tours, taxi pickups or hairdresser locations. The room was clean, linens were changed daily without even requesting it. The ambiance was absolutely beautiful and the design is well coordinated to resemble an old, stylish house both in and outdoors. The hotel is very romantic and sitting under the palm
trees in the inner courtyard and sipping cocktails with a live band every night was wonderful.

This is a great property, really in the middle of the old Town, close to shops, restaurants, right in the middle of all activities.

This place is my favorite in Cartagena. Besides the beauty of this historical place, the service is amazing, you will always find a kind person ready to help you with everything you need. My wife and I got married at El Marques on December and we have only gratitude for everyone. They even reserved for my wife and her bridesmaids an entire living room area (with a piano and high ceilings) to have their make up and hair before the wedding, with no additional cost.

Magical place! Not only are the rooms amazing, the staff makes it UNFORGETTABLE. From the cleaning ladies to the bartenders and GM, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty.

Really nice hotel with a great atmosphere. A lot of wonderful decoration which makes it beautiful. Food was amazing and the staff service was excellent. Location is in walking distance to the main plaza in the old town. The hotel was clean and we had no issues or complaints at all. I can only recommend it and I will book it again.

Luxurious retreat from the bustling streets of Cartagena. Luscious tropical courtyard makes a wonderfully romantic spot for breakfast or later meal. Room was well furnished. Rain shower was very welcomed. Pool just ok. Super friendly staff and enjoyed the gratuitous welcome drink at check in.

Excellent historical hotel in the historic city center. Beautiful rooms with great ambiance. 2nd floor rooms overlook the main courtyard. The resteraunt inside is worth the visit by itself. Excellent food with quick service. Often hosts private events. On this note is is an excellent location for a secure and private reception.

We went there for dinner. Food and drinks were very good. Staff was nice and helpful. The place is unique and we also enjoyed life music.

We attended a wedding at the El Marques and the service was amazing. The rooms were stunning, clean and spacious. The food Was out of this world.
