InterContinental Cartagena de Indias, an IHG Hotel

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time. I have no complaints. The rooms were well kept and had everything I needed. The beds were quite firm, so not the best I’ve had but they were still quite comfortable. Overall the hotel was clean and well decorated. The staff were polite and friendly, especially at the restaurant, Kanuu, where both the staff and food were excellent. We appreciated our welcome gift of chocolate covered strawberries and mineral water.
The pool is beautiful, but some attention to detail is needed to secure some loose tiles. Still enjoyed pool time during sunset!

Located less than 10 minutes away from the Walled City, it was close enough to get to all the action quickly but far enough to get some relaxation away from the busiest parts of town. I’d definitely stay here again.

First time staying at Intercontinental Cartagena and everything was amazing. The breakfast buffet was really good. They had just about everything. The mother's day brunch and food at the pool was good. We met Luis the bellman and he was very attentive to my mom and I. He remembered our names and always greeted us and asked how's our day and stay going. He really made a difference in our stay and my mom was always talking about him on how nice he is. The gentleman that checked us in was very professional ( i forgot his name sorry ) I hope the hotel can look into who checked me in and acknowledge him for it. Estefania at the front desk, very nice and thank you for the late check out after my flight got really delayed. And last.. Erika from the restaurant. Very very nice and processional. She was great to my mom and my mom was always asking about her because on how great she treated my mom. I work in a hotel and I have served in the restaurant, was a bellman and now do front desk operations. And the way the 3 staff members treated us.. reminds me on the way I work. Going above and beyond comes within the person. They created a special memory for my mother and I and I will forever be grateful for their services. Definitely coming back to this hotel. Thank you for everything!

Great hotel experience! Went for a wedding and the reception and catering was fantastic. Generous breakfast just be sure to arrive earlier as it’s until 10am and at 9:30am many things are gone, especially the waffles and arepa de huevo. Enjoy your stay.

As an American traveler coming alone, I was very nervous about what to expect my first time in Colombia. I could not have been more delighted with this hotel. They answered many questions for me via email before I arrived. The staff, from the doormen, to front desk, to pool staff were attentive, accommodating and even helped me with my Spanish. Everyone came to shake my hand when I left which made me sad because I will miss them! The rooms and amenities are first-class and on par with all Intercontinental hotels. I hope to return some day!

The pool and bar area was a symphony of excellent hospitality, orchestrated by Fabian, Francisco, and David. Their service went beyond mere duties; they were connoisseurs of guest satisfaction, ensuring each moment by the pool was a delightful experience.

Padilla, an exemplary member of the team, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence. His professionalism shone brightly in every aspect of the hotel’s operation, contributing significantly to the seamless and enjoyable experience.

The bellhop, a diligent gentleman in his 30s with an amiable disposition, was a cornerstone of the hotel’s commendable service. His prompt and courteous assistance was a hallmark of the hotel’s dedication to guest comfort.

Additionally, the presence of the security staff, particularly a vigilant guard who resembled Padilla, added an invaluable layer of safety and reassurance. His discreet yet approachable manner ensured a secure and serene environment.

A culinary highlight was the cheeseburger, recommended by another outstanding member of the pool/bar team. Though his name eludes me, the quality of his suggestion and service left a lasting impression.

The drivers, true professionals in every sense, embodied the hotel’s ethos of excellence, making each journey a pleasant and memorable part of my stay.

Hotel was nice and clean, room was spacious, pool was amazing, service was quick, the area is close to shopping and walled city of cartagena. manager Benito and staff at Kaanu restaurant were really kind. The cabs waiting outside for transportation, were comfortable, had a wonderful experience driving around and getting to know cartagena with Jaime Sanin

I can honestly say that this hotel was the best part of our visit to Cartagena. It was fun to explore the city, but at the end of the day, it was great to know that we had a clean, expansive and luxurious suite in a very safe and walkable part of the city. The hotel is right across from the beach, and affords great views of the beach, and the ocean and cityscape. It's also very conveniently located near shopping and food options.

The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave recommendations so that we could travel quickly and safely throughout Cartagena.

The entire hotel is very modern and well-decorated. We enjoyed seeing a traditional canoe from the hallway.

Staff did an amazing job recognizing our Platinum status, including a handwritten card and a delicious snack plate.

In addition to the excellent lodging, the pool was a real treat! We lazily drifted through the comfortable water well after sunset. The food and service on site exceeded expectations. I highly recommend booking a room with club lounge access. The lounge is quiet and has a great variety of food for breakfast and dinner time.

It's no wonder that we spent one afternoon of our trip just lounging around, enjoying this hotel!

Exceptional hotel. I visited for my birthday and their guest services surprised me with a birthday cake and a lovely post card. The food was phenomenal. The staff + security were beyond professional. The hotel is beautifully kept. Highly recommend staying here.

Wow! Keilin and her staff were so incredible. All of the staff was friendly, and everyone spoke English to help my wife who does not speak Spanish. The staff took extra care to accommodate us when we were located above a very loud wedding party, and the whole issue was sorted swiftly and easily. The food from room service was delicious and the rooms were very clean. The staff took the time to know us personally. I would highly recommend!

So far so good. I stayed for 3 days, the rooms were clean and posh. Upgraded to the King and it was worth it. Staff was attentive. Had a snack at the bar which was great: wings were something to write home about. Would suggest, connected to a mall, lots of shopping nearby, and directly across the street from the beach.

We spent seven nights here during our recent trip to Colombia and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful when asked questions. Marbelis at the front desk was especially sweet and took care of us on a couple of occasions. The room itself had a slightly musty smell but it was likely due to the air conditioning not having been on for a while. Once the A/C was on we didn’t have any other issues. It’s a good size room with a small couch near the window and the bed was super comfortable. We had the breakfast buffet on a few of the mornings and they had a huge spread with an omelette station as well. I especially liked the cheese bread near the toaster.

We also went to the bar a couple of evenings and Jorge made the best Bloody Mary’s that we had in our two weeks in Colombia. Jorge was super friendly also and, honestly, we probably wouldn’t have gone a second night if it wasn’t for his friendly persona and the Bloody Mary’s.

All in all, this was a great visit and we were well treated by all of the employees there. There are taxis easily accessible from the front of the hotel during most of the day and it’s a short ride to the walled city. I highly recommend staying here.

Awesome hotel. We loved our room, it had an incredible view of the city/bay area. Our bed was comfy and bathroom was great. Breakfast was amazing, many options to choose from. Restaurant in the hotel was very good (try the mushroom risotto!). The pool is great but it was VERY windy in the rooftop, so we were able to enjoy it only from about 1pm-2pm, when there's direct sun.

If I could give this hotel, 10 stars, I would. Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was incredibly clean and neatly designed. The shower was huge. The room was stocked with plenty of water and snacks. Room service only took about 20 minutes, and your food arrived hot. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Everyone on the staff was incredibly nice and respectful. I highly recommend that you stay at this wonderful place if you are in Cartagena.

I had a fantastic stay here. The room was clean and spacious and the view is very nice. It's directly across the street from a major beach so you don't have to go far at all to enjoy the ocean. If you book with access to the club lounge you'll REALLY love that. There are three different servings a day and they are all excellent. The pool is lovely so I recommend you make use of it. Room service was also very good. Just be sure to order more complex things before the kitchen closes. Otherwise you just get burgers and fries type things. Be aware that the streets in the area are prone to flood with heavy rain so you'll have to adjust accordingly.

Stayed here for 7 days and it was a great spot! The location is great and the sunset pool Terrance is where I wanted to spend most of my time. The rooms were spacious and the staff super attentive! Luiyis the front door guy was Super helpful and knowledgeable in not letting us get scammed by the taxi’s! Good looking out Luiyis! Didn’t try the restaurant food but the drinks were good!

The amazing service started even before I arrived at the hotel. I got an email from the fabulous Ms. Marbelis Sandoval , one of the Guest Relation Coordinator, thanking me for choosing the InterContinental and for my IHG reward membership. Also, they told me they were prepared for my arrival, and if I needed anything, I could let them know in advance. She can send over the information from the request for spa services.

When I arrived, the bellman was there to greet me and happily assist me with my bags. Ms. Marbelis was at the front desk to help me with checking in. She was even nicer in person and was able to go over all the amenities that the hotel offered. When I got to the room, the view was breathtaking. I could see the entire coastline. The room was comfortable and immaculate, as I expected. Room service is provided on request, and the housekeepers keep your room clean and stocked.

The rooftop pool was an added experience with the bar and restaurant next to it

I went to eat at the restaurant. My waitress, Enlida, was great, and she was able to help me identify all the great vegetarian options. Her service was prompt and very friendly. She even suggested some tasty dessert options.

One of the benefits of my stay was getting service at the lounge as a reward member. They offer breakfast, snacks from 1 pm to 3 pm, and drinks and other items in the evening.
Estefania was working in the lounge during my visit. She was so pleasant and greeted all the guests with a big smile. She made the best coffee.

You have to visit the Privilegio spa on site to schedule your service. The receptionist helped me pick out the best service I was looking for with a deep tissue massage, and a friend of mine got a different type, but both Yulibeth and
Marlyn provided outstanding service. I felt relaxed for the remainder of the day.
