Éteka Beach Cartagena

My favorite place in Colombia. Stayed there 2 times and loved each and every second. They always treat us like a family. Rooms are always clean food is amazing, employees are helpful. Especially Omar, he is an amazing person both times we were there he was very attentive and helpful. Spa is amazing, spa employees are very professional and they do make spa experience even better. I can’t even imagine going to another hotel in Cartagena. I can’t wait to go back.

I had a wonderful time at Éteka. Amazing view of Cartagena. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Very professional staff. Loved the room and I absolutely adored the food.

Excellent service & staff. Everyone seems well trained and staff is super attentive. Especially Omar was above and beyond! Luxurious and spaceous rooms. Local amenities from Cartagena in the room. It is very Tulum / Azulik inspired however by far better because of its very private setting. A lovely concept, bohemian inspired. Its very chic, everything seems personalized and well-conceived.
As they only have 10 rooms it is a rather calm and quiet place where I felt valued as a guest. Service and SPA are personalized and not comparable to mass tourism hotels / resorts.
Éteka is easy reachable from Cartagnea Pier 1, they have their own boat service. Food was excellent and delicious, very tasty. Fushion kitchen with a personalized touch of the chef. I‘d definitely visit again.

This place is very special! Yes it’s rustic but it’s only a short ride outside of Cartagena. The staff is lovely! From Stephanie who met us at the boat, to our boat drivers who were so sweet and all smiles and helpful with our luggage then meeting Judith at check in, all extremely friendly and accommodating. Luis got us into our room early and was the best! Our waitstaff day after day was outstanding were all of our meals. I wish I could hug my Omar again as he was so good to us! They pretty much served us anywhere we wanted and we really felt relaxed the entire stay. We stayed in the larger bungalow with an absolutely stunning view and we spent a lot of time on our balcony taking it in. We loved the toiletries, room was impeccable and the outdoor bathroom was amazing. Watching lightning in the far distance while showering under palm trees is just beautiful! Our only complaint was that we had to leave and come home! If Eteka is on your radar just book it!

“THIS PLACE IS AMAZING”!!! That’s me shouting at my phone. I arrived to Cartagena and was hoping for tour guides to help me. They sent me to two day excursions where I was taken advantage of. The third day I found Eteka on my own and booked with the facility direct. From meeting the transportation concierge - I knew already it was going to be a way better experience. The staff are amazingly friendly, the beach and resort accommodations are out of this world, the food and drinks are TOP notch, and the massaggeeeeeeeeeee still has me revived. 10/10 doesn’t even begin to describe this rustic and tranquil paradise!!!!!

Absolutely AMAZING experience at Eteka Beach Club in Cartagena!!! I ended up going on a Sunday for a solo day of relaxation and so glad I chose this beach club over my first choice. Booking a reservation online was really easy, we departed promptly at 10:00am and it was a quick 7-minute boat ride to Isla de Tierra Bomba, where the club is located. We were greeted with both Spanish and English speaking hosts upon arrival, who gave us a quick rundown of the club's schedules and amenities. Towels were included, there were plenty of lounge chairs with shaded grass awnings and view of the ocean & the Bocagrande skyline was incredible! They also had welcome drinks for us and a complimentary, all-you-can-eat snack cart (unfortunately, I forgot about this so I didn't get to try the food there). The ambience at the club is very relaxed and tranquil, but still had really good, upbeat music to vibe out to.

I ordered the white fish ceviche as a small snack before lunch was served and a bottle of champagne for the day. The reservation did include a full 3 course lunch and the food really blew me away. I was expecting it to be mediocre, with small portions since it was all-inclusive... but it was not. I had the salmon ceviche this time for my appetizer, the whole fried snapper as my main course and the passionfruit mousse for dessert. All three were AMAZING and very nice sized portions! I also decided to book a coconut oil massage during my stay and it was so relaxing. They have showers in your little cabana room to use before and after your massage. My trip to Eteka was truly the perfect way to spend my Sunday and in my opinion was reasonably priced. In total I spent about $220 for the entry fee (which again, includes the 3 course lunch), the 40-minute massage, an entire bottle of champagne and the separate ceviche.

My only cons about Eteka: 1) The departure meeting location was not automatically provided to me after booking my reservation, I had to contact them on WhatsApp. This is something that really should either be posted already on the website, or emailed in the reservation confirmation. However the customer service rep was very hospitable when I did reach out and they provided me a photo of the exact meeting spot, so I knew what to look for. Finally 2) the beach has occasional trash that floats up on the shoreline. It's unfortunate and there's not much they can do about people who litter in the ocean. However they did have maintenance workers raking up the trash throughout the day. I suspect this is a common problem for all the beach clubs on Isla de Tierra Bomba. Other than that though, everything was perfect! The staff was very warm & accommodating and I really enjoyed my entire experience. I will definitely try to make it back to Eteka Beach Club before I depart Cartagena!

I have traveled all over the world and this place is Amazing. They took a lot of attention to detail in the design of the resort and the rooms were beautiful.
This place is great because you’re just a 15 minute boat ride to downtown Cartagena but yet in a relaxing setting.
Everything from the food to the massages were great.

I am in love with this hotel! It was my favorite stay in Cartagena.
The service is impeccable, the food is top quality and everything is beautiful.

Took the day pass service with my mom. I absolutely loved it! we had a few other day passes on the island prior to this one and this one was by far our favorite one. The food is delicious, very good service and the hotel is beautiful. Would definitely come back.

We chose Cartagena because of the beaches so we chose to go to the Eteka Beach club. Upon arrival we were blow away with how friendly the staff was and how appealing the location was. Luis was our go to for our day pass and he did not disappoint! He was very knowledgeable, kind, smart, and friendly. The food was our favorite part of the day pass. I recommend getting the Pesca Ancestral meal which was extremely tasty and fresh! Overall we recommend Eteka over all of the beach clubs near Cartagena. When you go ask for Luis!

Stayed a few nights and was sooooooooooo relaxing and calm

They have the best seafood ceviche...and the hospitality was better than any other place I've ever been! All the staff is wonderful

The massages were nice and those ladies were strong

I did the couples package where they get rose petals on there floor/roses/champagne/set up lights/& more on the tower with a chalkboard having a personal message etc. (Checked the website and it seems like they don't offer those anymore as there used to be 4-5 different options. My visit was in August 2022)

I booked a day pass through their website and everything was great. good service, good food and it's a very short trip from Cartagena, about five minutes. It's definitely one of the best options for a beach day.

If you come to Cartagena you've got to come to Eteka! The service the place the food everything is just way over the average! This a really nice place to chill relax and enjoy the sound of the ocean while eating one of the best dishes in town !

You will not regret it !

WOW! amazing location, I was totally relaxed... beautiful and the staff was super attentive and so kind! You get a service button for wherever you are on the property so they can come and take your order... Fernando and Sol were especially wonderful and gave us amazing service.

The food is DELICIOUS, breakfast is included and is extensive and keeps you full for a long time, the standard room was clean and had AC which is all you need but if you want to splurge, the ocean view suites are beyond amazing, the details in the room are gorgeous and the shower is one of the best I have ever used.

Only thing was there was a lot of trash washing up ashore on the beach which is heartbreaking, more of a people issue than their fault

I really enjoyed my visit to Eteka! I recommend this place to young people who are looking for a relaxing beach day.

Here's what you should know:

Pros
- Its very easy to get their via boat ride from Bocagrande. you take a small boat through the channel and it takes less than 10 minutes.
- The beach club was really pretty and spacious, with some nice shaded sitting areas and beach cabanas.
- The staff were very helpful and friendly. I don't speak Spanish very well, and they were able to accommodate me
- They give you a nice welcome cocktail, and I also enjoyed a mojito there
- The food was really good. With you pasadia ticket, you get 80K COP of food included.

Cons
- The beach was pretty small, and the water wasn't amazing. I believe all the other beach clubs on this island are similar though.
- There were some people trying to sell me things on the beach while I was relaxing. I thought this would not be the case on the private beach, and I wished I was not bothered.
- If you are looking for a crazy party vibe, this doesn't seem to be the right place for you. i was not looking for this, so it was perfect.

Eteka Beach was great. We did the “pasadía” or day pass and could not recommend it enough. From start to finish they were excellent. The service at the island was great (kudos to Andres and Jimmy for their excellent attention and service). The food was delicious (highly recommend the Mojarra and Pargo). Drinks were really nice as well. Prices are steep but you get what you are paying for, a sweet spot between privacy, great service and luxury. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is AMAZING! The location, the facilities, the service, the food, everything! I went with my husband and stayed for two nights - it was great! The room was very spacious, beautiful and was sparkling clean. There are different food options including local and international cuisines, everything that we tried was absolutely delicious. If you go there you have to try the huevos a la cocotte, the mini fritos costeños and the spicy tequila, but to be honest everything was so good that I would just list everything we tried. There are so many areas in which you can just relax and also they have a spa! I would definitely recommend this place without doubt, it won’t disappoint!!!

We went for a daytrip to Eteka but we were so impressed of the location that we didn’t want to go to our other hotel.

So we spontaneously stayed here for one night in a wonderful room, so much details and effort, you can literally see it everywhere.
We love the beach club, especially the service here is amazing.
Everyone is so kind and helpful and the best thing: you don’t have to wait ! They are all super fast.

Eteka is a must when you come to Cartagena. Main reasons, the place is completely amazing, food is delicious and service is top. I stayed for four days and enjoyed every minute of the time I spent at Eteka. Everything is perfectly aligned so your experience is absolutely flawless. Will definitely recommend, there’s no better place to spend some great days at a paradise like Eteka.
