Borealis Grille & Bar (Guelph)

I try to come here at least once every other month. Food is super delicious, regardless of what you get. Portion sizes are generous. I highly recommend the poutine as a shared appetizer!

Service was exceptionally attentive and pleasant. I love the atmosphere of the place, both barside and dining room.

Can't feel guilty about eating out when so many aspects of Borealis are beneficial to the local economy and environment!

It was a nice Tuesday dinner, late. Many spots available. Cosy place, friendly waitresses.
The food was tasty. Portions are big.
Duck confit was accompanied with assorted veggies and apple pure.
Fish and chips: crispy and fresh.
Tacos are available for the special price on Tuesday, fish is must try.
Finally soup of the day: was surprised with a good flavour of creamy corn soup.

Recommend to visit and dine in!

I really like this place. I’ve been there several times and I’ve ordered the same thing almost every time: the quinoa arugula salad. Anything that has arugula and feta cheese has my heart. Their burgers are also very tasty. Fresh fresh fresh.

My husband and I spent our first Valentine's Day here as a married couple and I have to praise Jessica for being the best waitress ever! Not only for the efficient service but for her big, bright personality. She checked in often without being overbearing. She she anticipated our needs and had great recommendations. I usually skip dessert but she sold us on the crème brûlée. My steak was a little less cooked that I'd like and she quickly handled it and brought it back with extra veggies. The service was reminiscent of great service in pre-covid days. I was blown away and genuinely want to return even though we have a borealis in Guelph and I'll be sure to ask for Jessica's section if she is working. What an asset to the service industry! We had one of our best valentines day meals ever and our pre wedding ones even included a few posh places in Jasper. The food was amazing, Jessica made our night though as as you can see from my past reviews, I typically focus on only the quality of the food. These were on par.

Lovely steak Frits with amazing fries. I had the duck confit and the duck was amazing. I loved this meal. Flatbread with bacon is amazing.

Our server Charlotte was great! She was friendly, professional and made us feel special regarding our upcoming wedding. Would definitely recommend and we will be back for sure.

Delicious food, sourced locally. The food is very flavourful and fresh. Excellent service providing you with great recommendations and regular check-ins throughout your stay. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Will be coming back for sure. Have already started recommending to family and friends.

I was so delighted to find a sour beer on tap! The food was better than excellent and when you consider the price, it can't be beat. Our server was friendly and efficient. There is a window into the kitchen and the kids thought it was really neat that the chefs waved to them. Definitely a great place, I'll recommend and I'll be back.

Me and my husband have been coming here for years and never have had any complaints. The food is always good and the prices are reasonable compared to everywhere else. The fried chicken here is also the best in town.

I went to the Borealis pub and grill for a lovely dinner with my mother and wife. The food was fantastic. They had a wide array of food selections everything from Elk to duck confit just about everything you could ask for. The staff was also quite friendly and very helpful in choosing the appropriate meal to go with the mood of the day.

The appetizers were very good as well we tried the sausage Bowl as well as the sweet potatoes and onion dip.

I also appreciated the fact they also had a good selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

I tried to the Arnold Palmer, it was delicious for non-alcoholic beverage.

Delicious food. Inviting ambiance.

Steak meal was wonderful. Lots of flavor. Perfectly cooked. Chicken tacos were filling and tasty - opted for spicy sauce on the side, which was a good move - when in doubt, control your distribution! Salad appetizer was fresh, and it wasn't overwhelmed by dressing or by garlic. Cornbread was a tad too sweet for my liking, probably because of the honey, luckily the garlic butter spread helped balance the flavour - adding salt made it yummy. Btw, they have course salt in the table. Classy.

Decor was relaxed and enjoyable. Seats were comfy. One improvement would definitely be for them to change the lighting directly over tables. A bit harsh for evenings, IMO. Or at least change bulbs to warm white (not sure they were) or, better yet, hue lights on a warmer setting. We did spot a few tables without the bright lights so we will ask for those tables in future.

Will definitely be back.

We have been planning to try this place for a long time and finally made it last week. We had the flatbread, burger and fish and chips.

Flatbread - Crispy and cheesy flatbread was good with simple flavours.
Truffle Gouda + Peameal Burger - One of the best burgers I had in the recent times. The meat was so juicy and amazing.
Fish and chips - Most of the places use frozen fish but these guys use fresh fish so you know it will be good. Also, the seasoning in the batter was perfect.
They had some holiday bases cocktails and tried couple of them, which was refreshing.
The service was excellent with friendly people to keep us happy.
Overall, really enjoyed our dinner and will go back again!

We've been to the Borealis in Kitchener, but this was our first visit to Guelph.
The food was fantastic and service was excellent. Our dinner on the patio was interrupted by a summer storm, and the staff was monitoring the radar and started to move us indoors just as the rain started.
The Borealis Grille restaurants are great, but this visit stands out as something unique. And delicious.

Went to this restaurant with my wife last week. Place was so good and relaxed. Food was really good and i really like their desserts options. Their service was really great and they do serve beers and coctails. I will recommend this restaurant with 5 stars. Will definitely come back soon.

The blackberry mojito I ordered was gone in under a minute. It was so good. The staff is super friendly and approachable and the food was amazing. I ordered the parm fries, fish & chips with a kale salad substitute and chocolate ice cream. The dessert portions were very generous, and everyone loved their food. The jalapeno cornbread and blackened chicken antojitos were just *chefs kiss*

Recently visited the Guelph location for a retirement party and our sever Tamara was outstanding. We had a relatively large group yet she managed to remember each individuals name and made sure nobody was neglected. I highly recommend this restaurant for gatherings.

Went here the other day for dinner service and was served by Fiona who was attentive, friendly, and lovely to engage with. She made sure to check on our table several times to ensure that our needs were being met. I will most definitely be returning :)

Tamara was our server and she was amazing!!! Anticipated our needs well... brought more tartar sauce for my fish before my ramekin was empty. Food was excellent!!!
