We ordered the "Empire State" and the "French Dip", the food came quickly. The Empire State was delicious, savory and the combination was sweet! The mash potatoes with gravy was a plus. The French Dip is similar to a Philly cheese steak I would say and we have nothing to complain about.
The drinks we ordered were smooth, perfectly made. The old fashioned was made with Maker's Mark Bourbon, a really great choice.
The service through the time we've been there was great. The only thing that is not that good is when we arrived with our table reserved, they told us we had only two hours of time to spend, no rush, but we had only two hours(this was noted on the reservation website as well). This is not bad, it is more than enough time to eat and chill, however it's kind of an upsetting situation. We spent one hour total.
The atmosphere was good overall, the seats were great, the spot we seated was ok. Only the noise around was loud for us, there were some tables speaking loudly and the tv sound was on as well. We sort of yelled at each other to have a conversation.

I would rate 4.5 stars. Because two things that I didn't like so much is my personal opinion, and others might not notice. I recommend this place, it is a great experience.

I am specially going to State & Main to eat my favourite dish "pistachio crusted Salmon" , also they have good steak dish as well but i will highly recommend people to try salmon and you will always go back to state and main for that. In terms of service they have really good staff highly skilled and professional so no complaint at all and atmosphere wise also its good.

We had a great anniversary dinner tonight. Our server Jacqueline was very polite and attentive. The pretzel bites and Calamari appetizers were amazing! My only issue was that we were sitting in the bar area and it was hard to speak with each other. We'll definitely go again.

I had dinner last night and was very impressed that the staff at the front were so accommodating when I asked not to sit at a tall table. They quickly arranged a small booth for us even though it was super busy.

Fern was our server. She was so lovely! Very attentive, friendly, and did a great job taking care of us and checking in to ensure we were good.

Props to the kitchen staff too! The food was so yummy! Super impressed. This has now become one of my favourite restaurants in Guelph.

Went here for Sunday lunch and it was the best experience! The food and drinks were amazing and served hot. Would definitely recommend the truffle Parmesan fries on their happy hour menu. The service was also amazing. Our waitress was so friendly and on top of it. The food and drinks were also well priced. I wil definitely be coming back here !

This was our 1st time at the Guelph location of State and Main previously being numerous times in Kitchener. I had the lettuce wraps which is my favorite at every restaurant that serves them. These were without a doubt the best ones I have ever tasted! The portions were huge with me bringing enough home for leftovers tomorrow. My husband had the fish and chips which were also a generous serving. Our server was Lindsay and she was excellent, efficient and very knowledgeable with a pleasant smile . Overall a great experience and we definitely will be back!

We were on our belated Valentine’s Day date night and we booked a reservation online. We were seated right away and our server arrived immediately to take our drinks order. Our server was Fern and she went out of her way to get a mug with handles for me to drink my soup (I have not been able to open my mouth fully since a brain surgery operation) and to look for heavier cream for my husband’s coffee. Fern was polite, prompt, informative and attentive. Food was delicious. We had the Empire Steak and Pistachio salmon cooked to perfection! Thank you chef. Thanks so much to Fern. We will be back there again and recommend it to others.

We had a great girls night out at State & Main. They went above and beyond to make sure one of our party’s meals was perfect for her when it was originally very spicy. They were very generous with birthday desserts and it really made us feel special…that cake was soooo good. I will most definitely be back to give them more of my business and recommend them to anyone asking about somewhere with wonderful service. The food was also very good!

Excellent atmosphere. Nicely decorated, and well laid out. The service was very good. The food was delicious. My only compliant would be that the mashed potatoes were not made with real potatoes, and lacked flavour.

State & Main never fails to impress! The food is consistently delicious, and our server Darien's attentiveness and friendly demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. A definite go-to spot for a satisfying meal every time in Guelph.

Ate on the patio and the service was just like pre-covid.

Our drinks stayed full and the food was above average like always.

Been back lots of times indoor and outdoor and am happy to report that everything is above par as always.

Eat here... it is good!

Went for lunch with my daughter and everything was amazing. Had the grilled cheese burger with Caesar salad and she had the kids cheese burger with fries. It was all so delicious! Kid approved as well!

The host was personable and all the staff were great. Manager was attentive to all guests.

Will be coming back!

After the service we received, we will definitely be back. We sat at the bar and the bartender Dani was so friendly, fast, and really just great at her job! She talked us through the drink options and made us delicious cocktails. We were hoping for a vegan option on the food menu, but we will be back just because of how great the service was!

Food was very good. My steak was very slightly overdone. My wife loved the bacon tomato soup and the salmon. Our server, Fern, was excellent. Friendly, attentive and prompt. Genuine, which is a bonus for this customer. The Coffee IMO was excellent. Another bonus for me.

Took my mom and dad here for dinner on Saturday night. We started off with the pretzel bites and each of us had entrees. Our server Olivia was so kind and bubbly. My mom had a dozen questions for her regarding the menu and she answered them all with enthusiasm and without any hesitation. She made some great food and drink recommendations for us and we all enjoyed our meals and experience very much. We will definitely be back!

Definitely a favorite restaurant! Tried this location when I visited Guelph last year and have been back multiple times, including this past week for lunch. The food is always delicious. The pictures attached are the fish and chips and the pistachio crusted salmon with asparagus and mash potatos. Both were generous portions and were delicious! The wait time for food wasn't long and the staff were also really friendly! Will definitely visit again.

Great place altogether, these guys have some much space so you don't have to worry about numbers. The attendants were nice and very helpful. I had a meal with my colleagues and they menu has quite a good variety. The restroom is very decent as well. Parking is great and easy.

Best choice so far in Guelph....AMAZING service...SUPERB meals ....REASONABLE prices....

Best Blackened Cajun chicken, perfectly cooked Sirloin, and a wonderful Butter Chicken bowl....not to mention apps and dessert!!

Dropped in today for lunch again and as always greeted with happy faces. Kelly and Danni were fantastic looking after us. They made sure our orders were taken right away, food came out on time and to ensure we didnt need anything throughout. Great vibe, food and staff! Thumbs up for these two and the restaurant.

We went for dinner on New Year’s Eve and had the couples special. We enjoyed an appetizer with salad and a delicious steak! Everything tasted great and the service was excellent! We split the dessert also included with the special. I would definitely recommend, however it wasn’t intimate if you’re looking for that.
