Crumbs Bakery Café

Stopped at Crumbs Bakery Café while traveling with friends and it was a delightful discovery! The atmosphere is cozy, and the pastries are heavenly. Everything tasted homemade and delicious. The staff was welcoming, making our visit even more enjoyable. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!

Whenever I visit Castlegar, I have to drop by Crumbs Bakery Café. I love to start the day with their full bodied drip coffee and one of their famous breakfast sandwiches. Today, I chose beer sourdough bread for the breakfast sandwich and it had just the right amount of tangy sourdough flavour. Of course, you have to stock up on bread and pastries with each visit too. Their croissants, pain au chocolate, and other pastries are to live for. I hope to be back soon.

After touring BC for two weeks, I can confidently say this is the best coffee shop/bakery I've found here so far, as well as in the UK. Amazing espresso coffee and super friendly staff :)

Lemon & poppyseed danish is disappointing but everything else we tried was lovely :)

Stopped in to get breakfast. Tasty breakfast sandwich and the coffee was great. Got a quick course on coffee picking, they use light roasted hand picked ripe (red cherry beans) so light roasting them is enough to bring out the deep flavours. And you can taste it! . They also have a limited choice of deserts and breads.
Friendly service, highly recommend it.

Very cozy place to stop and grab bite to eat. Stuff were very friendly and welcoming. The food, especially croissants were topnotch quality. Variety of teas, coffee and even hot chocolate. Highly recommend!

Pour Over coffee was great! Pressed sandwich as great. Cookies were great. Totally recommend!

This bakery has raised my standards and expectations of baking forever! If you are lucky enough to pop in when the cheesy pretzels are still hot from the oven do not squander your good fortune! BUY TWO 😉

Sorry France, but I think this place has the best croissants on the planet. Ham and cheese croissants are amazing. If you ask you can get a croissant with grainy mustard and the ham and cheese melted. Plus they do beautiful coffee art. Gem of a find in a small town with not much to snack on. Only downfall is the operating hours and long lines for coffee. Could use a second espresso machine.

Delicious food, kind staff, convenient location, unique treats, local collaborations, modern decor all make this café fun, functional and overall fantastic! Great respect of pandemic protocols. Lovely art to admire while your perfect drink is thoughtfully created. Acoustics can be a little awkward and wait for drink/food can be long during busy times. Awesome social hub. Good hours allow for early morning and early evening errands (and cravings!) to be completed. Online orders make for a wonderful gift idea. Don't hesitate to support this local gem. I ordered drip coffee and it was done by a pour over, it tasted very fresh and rich, worth having without cream or sugar! There was a good selection of scones, muffins, breads, croissants, cinnamon roles, and other delicious looking baked goods.

You could tell the owner/employees have pride in their product. When chatting the owner (I presume), they told us that they only work with roasters who pick coffee beans that are perfectly ripe so that you can taste the fruits in their coffee. Great experience :)

Best bakery around! I live in Nelson but occasionally make the trip to Castlegar just to get this bread. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing and the coffee is some of the best around.

Stumbled on this very wonderful little cafe through a Google search and saw the high reviews and it did not disappoint! And Amy's real small town hospitality was above and beyond. She offered to deliver the order to my grandpa's home for his 80th birthday at the end of her work day. What an absolute blessing! He was so surprised and loved it!

Visited while passing through town on a road trip. I wasnt expecting much except some quick refreshment but was surprised to find myself drinking the BEST smoothie I have EVER tasted. Really, really good. The little scones are delicious too!
