The team at In Gear (Jen, Jamie and Dylan) were phenomenal! We came in last minute on a Saturday when our vehicle stopped working properly in the middle of a snow storm. We were in the middle of a powder Highway ski trip and on our way to Revelstoke. Jamie and Dylan were able to diagnose the problem quickly. Jen worked her magic to find the parts we needed. I cannot recommend this place enough! They treated us like old friends and gave us a very fair price. Amazing technicians and support staff!!!

Had a wiper problem in winter weather. They diagnosed and fixed the problem in under an hour. Mechanic Dylan installed a new wiper and all was good. Great shop, would definitely recommend. Thanks!

THE BEST! Honestly this place is so good, they are honest, reliable and professional. We're new to the area and it's always tricky to find a mechanic you can trust but they have been so good to us. I'd highly recommend them and they will continue to get all our business when it comes to our vehicles. So glad we found In Gear!

What a fantastic automotive shop.Very professional, they do superb work my vehicle very reasonable and Im telling all my Iron Worker Brothers of local97 its a place you bring your vehicle and know the job is done correctly. Again car brought in for a re and re engine and again Todd and his staff went over and beyond to help me out and insure qaulity work and there professinalism is second to none thanks again.And you will always get my work my friend

We were driving through Castlegar on our way to Van Island when we had car troubles. The belt snapped and we thought for sure we were going to be staying the night. Well, Mike was willing to help us right away and we were in and out in less than an hour. Shocked and grateful to say the least. They were super kind and pet friendly as well (we had 2 cats and a dog travelling with us) so it meant a lot that they were so willing to help us out in such short notice. Amazing business and even better service! :)

So thankful for this shop! I broke down on the summit and all shops were booked up! 😓 I was worried I wasn’t going to get any help. I called around and was finally talking to a wonderful gentlemen Chris. They talked me through the trouble shooting process and helped me learn more about what was going on. I have only ever received service like this at my hometown repair shop that has taken me a couple years to build that relationship. I am so thankful to find such a forward auto shop and honesty.

Unbeatable service. We are on a weekend road trip from Nelson to Penticton and found our tire became flat due to a nail. We made it into In Gear on a Sunday with no guarantee that they could take us in as they said they were already booked for the day. But they agreed to take a look at it. In the end they patched up our tire in one hour and we were back on the road again. Incredibly thankful to Todd and the team who didn’t have to squeeze us in so last minute. Thank you for saving our tire, weekend and vacation!

So grateful we stumbled upon In Gear Mechanical. We had a breakdown on the weekend and needed to get our older GMC van back in shape quickly to complete our music tour. Eric at In Gear totally exceeded our expectations. Not only did he fix our fuel pump, he did it it quickly, creatively, and affordably. I am so used to being told that it's challenging and impossible to find parts for our '82 that I was preparing to be stuck in Castlegar for a week. Eric got us up and running so fast I almost wished we could stay longer to enjoy the company of this charming mechanic! I don't know what we would have done without Eric and In Gear. Castlegar is so lucky to have a shop like this.

Sept 10th we broke down just outside of Grand Forks. We were towed to here for repairs. The gentleman that owns the place let us stay in our motorhome and plug in till they could look at it. Saving us two nights stay in a hotel room and eating out. They also got us in as soon as possible and back on the road home by Wednesday morning. It was so awesome and help relief the stressful situation. They were just awesome and suggested places of interest to help with our stay.

Outside of Castlegar our truck showed an error code. While using the code reader in the Canadian Tire parking lot, two people walking past told us that there was a really good mechanic just down the road. The took us there and the shop was very busy, but the owner took the time to talk to us about the issue, and when we told him about where we had to be ASAP, he asked his mechanic to stop working on his job and plug their computer/code reader to help us troubleshoot the issue. We talked about different options and he made some suggestions on what to do. His willingness to help us when he was already so busy was so appreciated. If we need a mechanic in Castlegar area, we will definitely go back to In Gear, and highly recommend them to everyone! Thank you!

Just popped by on our way through town as our truck had a check engine light pop up, we showed up unannounced and needed a code reading before continuing our trip. We were helped immediately and reassured we were safe to continue on our way! Really lucky to have found this shop today!

Excellent customer service! I called on Monday with an issue changing over summer tires to winters, In Gear was able to get me in on Wed, the issue was resolved in less than an hour and was very reasonably priced! I will definitely be back for other vehicle needs! Thanks again ☺

I got a flat tire on Saturday night in Castlegar while driving from Osoyoos home to Calgary. I showed up at In Gear when it opened at 7 on Sunday morning. Todd and his techs had me on the highway again by 8, with confidence in a job well done. The only shop open Sunday between Vancouver and Calgary. I got lucky! I highly recommend this team.

Great hours! 7am appts are perfect for me. Great service...friendly, timely, they even have a courtesy car! Open 7 days a week which is really great since I drive for my living. I have found my new steady mechanics!

Like many other reviews have stated, they saved my butt on a trip. I was in town to pick up a trailer I had bought when my wiring for the receiver had a literal melt down.
These guys were able to get me back in working order within a day and I lost almost no time.
