The Grand Buddha Bistro

The food is a 5, the service is a 4. Friendly but a little more care checking on tables needs but the food makes up for it. They have bubble tea but no real asian flavours like red bean or green tea coca cola was super frosty in the can, perfect finish. The hotel we are staying in (best Western) is right across the parking lot.

I attended a birthday party which was the best experience and at the best place. The food was delicious and I enjoyed it a lot. The major thing was it was pocket friendly for students.

We ordered a couple apples for lunch, the pork spring rolls and salad roll. Freshest restaurant salad roll ever, with a generous helping of peanut sauce. The spring rolls were light, crispy, and delicious. Service was excellent, too. A modern, fresh clean look to the restaurant which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The best food in Castlegar and the Kootenays for Thai! The in-house lemongrass sauce on the spring rolls was Devine! The green curry was a perfect balance of heat and creaminess with fresh ingredients! Portions are large so expect to take home left overs! Overall a wonderful place to dine and my server was fabulous, very informative and helpful about what to eat. Can’t say enough good things

This was a huge surprise.. some of the best traditional style pho broth I have ever had. The spring rolls are hand made - fantastic. The other dishes I saw go by also looked and smelled incredible. The food is huge, delicious and very reasonably priced. It was brightly lit and a bit noisy. Staff was great. Definitely recommend

The Buddha bistro is a great place to eat! The food is delicious and goes down very well and you don’t feel gross and that bloated after you eat. The waiters are very caring and make sure you have a great time there! You can also get some boba tea which is very amazingly delicious! The Grand Buddha Bistro: Friendly staff, great flavour, a variety of options to suit any taste, and generous portions make this a place we have really enjoyed on visits to the Kootenays. My wife and I have had some great spicy curries, other family members (who don’t do spice at all) have also given solid praise. I recently called to set up a gift card for Mother’s Day and the team made it happen without a hitch. Overall a positive experience; we’ll be back!

Delicious and fresh i get their spring roll takeout from Kootenay Market as a quick lunch quite often. Their peanut sauce is addictive!

I'd been here previously, quite some time back and it must be under new ownership because I hadn't come back because the food had been quite plain and not very flavorful, but tonight I had the lemongrass chicken vermicelli dish and it was fantastic

Pork burger was surprisingly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Pork was seared like a steak. Had to have been marinated. And there was heat but it was subtle and didn't show up right away.
Bun was simple allowing the meat to be the star. No works every time brioche making it harder to achieve such deserved praise.

We tried the lemon grass pork based on reviews and loved it.
Also shared a Brisket Pho. It was good. I've never been a big fan of Pho but the wife loves it so I always try hers. She said she loved it and the broth was perfect.
Would recommend but portions are huge. Sharing is worth it especially if you are a bigger party

Really scrumptious Thai and fusion food with excellent portions. I eat a lot and it was too much for me the second time. Chestnut pork is to die for. Ginger beef and green curry were also some of the best I’ve had. Even the bubble tea was comparable to Vancouver.

Unfortunately I felt it was necessary to delete and rewrite.

I LOVE this place, or did.
The quality just has gone downhill. The service is basically nonexistent. I found myself having to wave my arms around on a couple visits to gain attention.

This last visit my wings were over done and hardly salted, no flavor.
My vermicelli noodles must've been taken from the fridge or immediately out of cold water, while my chicken was hot, thrownon top.

It's such a shame .

This was such a good restaurant! An absolute 100% recommendation for lunch or dinner. Food was amazing, staff is so kind, the inside is very spacious and clean. Food portions were HUGE! I love this restaurant and will definitely be coming back!

Food here is awsome! Friendly staff and they have a wide selection of bubble tea as well. If you like Vietnamese food, you should try this place
