Rocking Horse Pub

The table directly in front of the woodstove is the best place to have lunch on a blustery day. The Rocking Bronco Burger or the Poutine are both excellent choices. Or share the nachos with a friend. Service is amazing! After a couple visits, you will be greeted by name and they will know your order. I highly recommend The Rocking Horse.

Great spot for a good lunch. Pea and ham soup was THE thing for a chilly day. Coconut prawns were about the best I've had. Definitely coming back again in summer so we can eat on the patio. Meanwhile they keep it cozy inside with a couple of cracking woodstoves.

This place is awesome. Hard working waitresses and the absolute best outdoor dining area that is totally dog friendly. Set on a ranch property and very unexpected. Wife had a Reuben sandwich that was great and I went with the fish and chip special which was a little bit too much batter but the cod inside was excellent. Great beer selection on tap as well. Mother in law had a chicken salad that was good according to her and rather big so went home with a doggy bag as well. Highly recommended for a good ole pub experiance.

We have been waiting to try this pub out for some time. My boyfriend is British so we lean towards pubs with British fare. He had the cottage pie and I had the roast beef sandwich special. Our waitress was running and managed to give amazing service and made you feel like you were best friends! Definitely worth the drive and ferry from Gabriola where we live! I wish I caught our servers name as she made the experience even better.

I went here this afternoon after a long hike. The servers are attentive and kind and the food is spectacular! I had the fish pie with a side of fries and gravy, my partner and her mom had the lemon chicken burger with fries as well! I wish I had photos but we crushed our meals. We will be back I’m sure!

Great lunch with friends. The service was happy friendly and though at times slow our servers attitude and effort in a busy restaurant made it a wonderful experience we will all repeat. Love the "pie guys" work lots of vegetarian choises and good coffee.

We had a wonderful time! Hailey was so accommodating, welcoming and friendly. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable on the beautiful patio with our Lil' pup on a winter day. We are very grateful 😊 will definitely be back next time we pass through.

Great night out with visiting parents from Vancouver. They loved the English ambiance and the food was lovely. Huge shout out to our friendly and cheerful serving staff. She was a joy. Food was good, service quick and my Irish Step Mom loved the selection of English Meat pies!

Amazing visit to this only slightly out of the way gem. Always love the food and service here. Today was my first experience with the fish and chip special. It was out of this world. The Caesars are also to die for!

Wow, this place was great! The pies are really delicious, and the atmosphere is really cozy in the rainy weather. I'm honestly not sure why this place isn't more popular than Crow and Gate, the food is FAR better!

Birthday lunch with 10 people. The food & service were great. Our server went out of her way to make this a special event for all of us, but especially the birthday girl.

Just had lunch with five friends. The pub was packed with customers, very busy. Everyone's food was delicious and our waitress Hailey was AMAZING! She was looking after half the pub by herself and handled everyone's needs beautifully! Thank you for a lovely dining experience.

An old style pub in the middle of nowhere.

Placed was packed mid week, food was great and the waitress from Manchester was at the top of her game serving everyone in the restaurant side herself without writing down a single order. Impressive!

This place is the best. We just came here off google reviews. Really great service, great indoor and outdoor space. The wait for the food was a bit long as there were a lot of people, but they provided great communication, gave food for the kids quickly, gave us snacks as we waited. Also just wonderful atmosphere. And lastly the food and drinks were great. A highlight of our month trip around BC. Thank you.

My first time here tonight and I had such a phenomenal experience. Jamie was on point, quick with service and specials. We will be coming back again very soon.
