Nanoose Bay Cafe

We were driving on this gorgeous scenic drive through Nanoose Bay and came across this incredible place. Luckily for us, it was a happy hour. We sat on the deck 😎 overlooking the beautiful marina. The food was great, wine delicious, atmosphere fantastic and service outstanding.

It was a couple of months later that we were coming back down the island, and even though we had dinner, we opted to stop for a break. We had dessert latte and a cocktail. Our server was Heather, and she was beyond helpful and wonderful. Actually all the staff there have been so helpful and informative. Thank you so much for the incredible experience we had both times we were there. We look forward to seeing you again on a date night at one of your events.

Nanoose Bay Cafe is a destination where an experience is waiting for you that you won't forget. The service is on a level that you would expect from a 5 star restaurant and they definitely meet the mark. The food we ordered was all "Happy Hour" items, it was well worth every bite. Presentation is its own creation, everything is beyond satisfaction. The ambiance is a bit dimly lit but at least there's lots natural light that is streaming in. Otherwise it's a multi-purpose place that serves every type of event or happenings. I highly recommend this romantic and beautiful place as a destination or if you need a large venue.

Upscale new restaurant, serving seafood towers and caviar. I’m not sure upscale is appropriate for this quiet suburban area, far removed from the downtown Nanaimo. Having said that, the restaurant is beautiful and the views are stunning. The menu is a mix of West Coast seafood and Asian dishes.

We got a variety of dishes to try and everything was good.
Rigatoni Bolognese had really nice hearty sauce, I just wish the pasta was fresh and not boxed, for the price.

Happy to see some variety of desserts. The matcha cheesecake was excellent. It had more of a mousse texture and strong matcha flavour.

We love bringing visitors to NBC for the beautiful view, great food and excellent service. We were there today to enjoy Happy Hour with friends from Washington State, and to celebrate our friend’s birthday. Our waiter, Jared, brought complimentary glasses of bubbly, and gave us exemplary service. He was friendly, and paced the dishes so not all the appetizers came at once. The food was terrific, and we were pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable bill. Thanks for wowing us again!

A delightful stop on a beautiful drive.. My smoked salmon with avocado toast was an updated version of a classic. Capers, onion and a view to die for, with a side of fresh fruit. A treat was watching a seal in the harbour feast on a fish and frolic. A truly magnificent setting with a welcoming and professional staff. ( just keep the music on the patio from getting too loud please ) Best wishes for your new business.

Wonderful décor, fantastic view from both the patio and the interior, delicious food, extensive menu and wine list, outstanding service.

They are very popular so, while they happily accommodate walk-ins, I suggest making a reservation for dinner, especially for a large group.

Tonight, we enjoyed an amazing Valentines dinner with our good friends !! The atmosphere is fantastic with beautiful Vista of Marina, water and mountain views !!
Our table was perfect for conversation !!
Our waiter "KoKo" gave us excellent service and made our evening special!!
He gave us excellent recommendation for our meal selection!! Our meal was delicious, wonderful atmosphere and excellent service !! Also there was a singer tonight and that was an unexpected treat for Valentines Day 😀👍

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The food, the service, the atmosphere and the views are just off the charts! We are a vegan family and we’re so impressed with the vegan option! They were all delicious!! We are already planning to return for a date night. This is my new favourite place to eat out! What an amazing addition to our community!

We went as a family this week and I am still thinking about the salmon dinner I had. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the staff are attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu items and you can’t beat that view. The menu is full of seafood with lots of other options for everyone’s taste buds. We will definitely be back soon.

Excellent food. The scallops were melt in your mouth delicious. Cozy, clean atmosphere. Jarred was an absolute star as our server. Witty. Helpful. Efficient. Dashing. Professional with a big ol' dollop of sarcasm (in the best possible way).

You can’t get a better place for a cup of coffee on the water than the Nanoose Bay Cafe. If you are looking for specialty drinks or dinner with friends be sure to make a reservation as they are busy! Plus they have a local market on location from art to local produce. They have a small corner with kids puzzles and a table for your youngest cafe goers.

I love coffee. The actual Cafe part of the NBC has amazing coffee. The gentleman that runs the cafe is fantastic and makes the best coffee I’ve had on the Island so far. Great baked goods as well!!!

Wonderful! Little random spot. Just off the water in the edge of a golf course. We were there for happy hour and demolished rounds of oysters and pork and shrimp dumplings that were delicious. Great bang for buck.

NYE Gala last night was Fabulous!! The 5 course menu was absolutely delicious and the decor, as well as the music added to our enjoyment! It was nice to have a Dance Floor and to see a BLACK TIE event being hosted. People don’t dress up anymore and that’s why we chose this restaurant to celebrate NYE because it was BLACK TIE and formal.

I stayed at the Fairwinds Residences on a short solo holiday, and ate dinner at the Nanoose Bay Cafe each of the last three evenings. I absolutely loved each dinner, and savoured the seafood chowder, miso spaghetti, chicken karaage, and tonight's Prime Rib. Thank you to Lindsay, Coco, Jared, and the entire Nanoose Bay Cafe for three memorable dining experiences. I look forward to returning here in the not-too-distant future.

I'm on a fairly new limiting diet, so restaurants can be challenging. This was our first visit to Nanoose Bay Cafe, and we'll go back!

I ordered a Thai style soup, and I made a request to leave the noodles out. The person taking our order then suggested they could add extra veggies instead of the noodles! Perfect, I thought! And it was an amazing soup!

There was a mistake on my wife's order, and they needed to prepare another burger, which they did immediately, and kept us up to date while it cooked.

Our friends had Caeser Salads, which included crispy capers. They advised that it was very good. They said they'd try other things next time. Great idea! I won't, I loved that soup!

Amazing service. Amazing view. Very stylish.

The servers all helped each others tables, I’ve never been more impressed by service.

The food was on point. We had the crab dip which was tasty. Then the clam pasta which had a generous portion of clams.

Loved this place! We drive out from Nanaimo just to check it out. The food was delish, and the view of the harbour was beautiful. Heather, our wonderful waitress, really took care of us. It was a pleasure to dine there!

The service was outstanding, and seamless, from the entire staff, with everyone being truly authentic and personable. Shared a wonderful meal and experience this evening at this amazing restaurant. We were greeted at the door by Eli, the owner and had great service from our Server, May. All of the food looked and tasted great and the cocktails were delicious. Thank you for a great dinner this evening and we look forward to coming back again soon!
