British Bobby Restaurant

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but the second we stepped in I smelt the old familiar British fish 'n' chips ! The servers and the owner were so friendly! The fish 'n' chips were delicious, and they served my favourite, mushy peas!!! The things they had on the walls were a real throw back to an old British pub, and as a Brit, I approve! Its fun, quirky and like stepping into a good old pub!! And of course the menu - authentic pub grub! (They even do pie and chips with gravy!!!) Will most definitely be back!!

Went for my birthday dinner. The staff are lovely, and new owner, Michael (son of previous owner) has kept up the amazing standards. English grub at its finest. I had steak & mushroom pie with chips. Followed by a humongous piece of raspberry mousse cheesecake. Highly recommend. Lots of movie and old country memorabilia to make it extra fun. A lovely little piece of England in Parksville. Love it and will return often.

Really good fish & chips, served authentically with malt vinegar, at a great price! Friendly, attentive staff. Love the ambiance.

Great experience and wicked food. Highly recommended. My wife and I ordered the halibut and chips and my daughter's ordered the poutine. The fish was incredible, perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. They were really busy and they were turning away people, so I would recommend making a reservation. Excellent service and food!

A different crust on the fried fish, but good. The "chips" were also excellent !

The interior decor out here is to die for. It has a typical British feel. Good food, service and ambience. 💕

Had the most delicious authentic British pie with the family last night, we had the vegan option which was truly incredible. My partner is from England and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere along with the pie which comes with chips, peas or beans, and a lovely gravy. A charasmatic friendly server completes the experience and you can guarantee we will be back!

My British husband and I stopped in for fish and chips on his birthday, and were not disappointed! The food was delicious and the atmosphere authentic. We'll be back next time we're on the island!

Well this place came by recommendation best fish and chips and chips amazing huge pieces my dining partner a vegetarian eat a vegan hot pie was to die for she wants to go back even the gravy was vegan she couldn't eat it with another bike without telling me how lovely it was peace great as I was devouring that halibut and chips Ambiance was wonderful lots of curly diners make sure you make your reservation might not get it it's incredibly delicious we will be back

Been a few months since we've been in but I just heard the news. Great fish and chips, great portion sizes, great decor and your staff are very genuine. Will do our best to come in before the new year.

Excellent chips! Best I’ve had in ages. Excellent fish coating. Not greasy and nice and crisp. Very inexpensive lunch fish meal. Beer was cold and tasty.

We always used to drive to Campbell River or Victoria for a good feed of fish and chips. Today we decided to try a local British fish & chips restaurant. So glad we did! We will definitely stay local from now on when we want really good Fish & Chips. Not only were the portions way larger than what we are used to, the decor was so wonderfully unique and the music was not blasting us out of there. We will definitely be back!

So glad they're able to stay open. Best fish and chips I've ever had and their burgers are amazing too. Very traditional British look and feel to the place and the staff really make you feel at home. Next time you're driving through Parksville, make sure you stop in. You'll be glad you did.

♥♥Atmosphere was great! So much to look at. We arrived at a busy part of the night, so it took awhile to get our food, but we didn't care because we had a DECK OF CARDS ON THE TABLE!!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!? I haven't seen that in ages! The fish and chips were awesome and the Sweeney Todd British pies were EXCELLENT! Food so hot it burns your mouth. How often can you say that of a restaurant?? This has become my new favorite place! ♥♥

For anyone who likes British food then this restaurant is a must visit.
An extensive menu off all the old favorites. Our favorite being the Cod and Chips, but lots more. This on top of a unique atmosphere make it an ideal place to go a regular basis. Not to mention that the staff and service are top notch. Also very user friendly as far as social distancing.

I am new to the area and I love fish & chips so when I drove by the British Bobby I had to drop in. For anybody like me this is the place to be. The service was fantastic... a lovely young lady Nicole seated me and took my order and was delightful to speak with. My order arrived quicker than I expected and the taste was awesome. I could go on but if you're reading this just go here to eat and I'm betting you'll return as I will. I gave 5 stars only because 10 wasn't an option. Thank you folks for the experience!

Best fish and chips anywhere on Vancouver Island. They give good size portions of fish and its excellent!!! and at reasonable prices you cant beat it. Great atmosphere and friendly service is a plus. Worth a visit when you come to Parksville.

My sister was visiting and found an ad in the paper about the music this past Wednesday. We booked a reservation and the five of us enjoyed ourselves so much. Our server was Nicole and she was pleasant and knowledgeable. She made our evening fun. The Celtic music was great to listen to and we even got to dance. The memorabilia makes the atmosphere so authentic. Thanks to all the staff that made our evening special!!!
