Billy G's Doughnut Shop

Great selection of donuts right by the goats on the roof market. Interesting flavours and definitely not your typical Tim hortons donut. I personally love the donut with marshmallow! Line up could be long but definitely worth the wait! Seems like people touring Nanaimo have this place on their checklist. The whole area has the farmers market vibe to it which feels nice.

Must try! Very tasty donuts! Lemon, Mango, pineapple, cinnamon twist - definitely try these flavors.

The ones that we did sample, were the right chewiness as described by my sons.

My favorite which is perhaps the same as most dads...Frankenfritter! Best description would be to say lots of peaks and valleys in which the glaze is able to permeate and collect. The chasms and voids are filled with delicious taste and texture.
One is definitely not enough, so a second is a definite must. At 3.50 it is a bargain in comparison to a lot of other donut shops in the lower mainland.
Though to be fair, I highly doubt that these are done on site and more likely trucked in from afar....

Nevertheless, these are some of the best value/donut that I've had the pleasure to sample.

I would've really liked to get one of their Mystery Boxes and perhaps have done an unboxing...however they were sold out at the time. We'll leave that for the next time we're on the island!

Really fun, creative and tasty doughnuts. Went around 1pm and most were sold out which was disappointing but that just shows how popular they are.

This donut shop is pretty lovely. They have lots of different cool flavors and all the classics that you could want. We found the donuts to have a very good consistency of the dough and very sweet sweet icing. The staff was friendly and the setting is absolutely lovely there in Coombes next to the market and the goats.

I'm not a big doughnut fan but these doughnuts are so good!! I came back on my last day, sadly they ran out of my favourite one but they're all so good. I can't wait to come back!!

Pretty amazing donuts. I love chocolate, so the Double Dunker was my favourite. The 5'oclock somewhere is filled with a mango filling. Very good if you like fruit donuts. They have their own parking lot just behind the store and there's lots of space. We got here at 4pm on a Tuesday and there were only two groups in front of us, so it was quick. We were lucky and at about 4:02pm, they announced a 2 for the price of 1 deal! I don't know if they do this every day. The goats are gated off separately a bit down the road. I initially thought they walked on the roof of the store.

Absolutely the best doughnuts I’ve ever had. Top of the chart you will never find them this good! The flavours were unique and really fun, and we were impressed with every single flavour we got. The location itself is very easy to get to via walking, and the building is the cutest looking bakery I have ever seen. Totally an amazing photo op, with incredible food 💕

Fantastic doughnuts!!! We sampled a dozen and there wasn’t a flavour I didn’t like. My personal favourite would have to be the glazed sour cream— not too decadent or sweet.

Such an experience! They’ve got some neat flavours, fun to grab an assortment and grab a coffee across the way to have a nice patio spot to taste test. The cake bases weren’t the best we’ve had, but the different icings and glazes were packed with flavour!

Delicious, fresh donuts with a variety of flavours. Waited around 10 minutes in line on a long weekend, very worth the short wait! Staff were friendly and efficient ☺ A must-visit while at the market 🐐🍩

Probably the coolest donuts you will find. They taste as good as they look. Prices are reasonable. Located right behind goats on the roof. This shop is super popular and busy expect to wait in line to enjoy these treats.

This little slice of carbohydrate-heaven is conveniently located right next to Old Country Market in what was once the ice cream shack and a jewelry store before that. Donut options that are completely off the chain. Clean, fun, and friendly..

This donught store rocks. I'm guessing it is catagorized as a gormet doughnut store. The shelves were stocked with product around 11 am. The only visible employee was curious and energetic about the product he was selling. I'm thinking he was also a doughnut lover given his hyper hyponess. Clean patron area and a great all around faculty. A bit pricy, but I was expecting that because of the love they put into each donught.

We visited Vancouver Island and the first place we went to was Billy G’s doughnut shop in Goats on the Roof!! The girl behind the counter was so friendly, helpful and kind.
She had an amazing sense of humor and the doughnuts were the best I have ever had!! It is a super busy place!! Such a quaint part of Coombs, with a market, produce, clothing, Italian food and more! The best part was seeing the goats on the roof! A must see!

WOW! This place is amazing! This place really puts Tim Hortons to shame. I mean Timmies donuts are ok, but this place puts the fun and creativity back into what donuts are all about! There were so many interesting options to try but so few healthy arteries, so my wife and I settled for a total of 6 donuts. I chose the Nanaimo Bar donut - it had Bavarian cream in the centre, chocolate glaze on to with crumbles of Nanaimo bars crusted over the top. But my favourite was the Dulce de Leche donut. Not as sweet as the Nanaimo bar donut, but so decadent nonetheless. Lastly, I tried the Prairie Schooner which was cream cheese frosting with lemon filling!! The cashier was the highlight; I just love it when a person loves their job and can keep it entertaining which is what this kid did. Highly recommend this place. OH and they have freakin goats on their roof just hanging around!!!!

To die for donuts! Do not pass through Coombs with out grabbing a few! They are closed Wednesday and Thursday so plan your trip around that! ;) I had the Prairie Schooner (lemony heaven) and the Coombs Cut Off!

SOOOOOO GOOD! the previous time i visited I couldn't get any as they closed early due to selling out early in the day. I was disappointed of course, but it also gave me higher expectations for the next visit. When I finally got the time to drive there again to try, they were open and had the flavors I wanted to try! Their Cinnamon twists are sooo good and their regular sugar glazed it also really good! Definitely worth the visit and definitely worth the experience!

The donuts are delicious, enough said. They run out fast so get there early.
