It's a long way from Florida to the Lakes. And we can't wait to go therea lot. The food along with the service and is just amazing. The lady cooking is unbeatable and so gracious. Don't ever pass by without stopping. Mention Capt.Ron sent you

The scenery here is worth the drive ,plus a fantastic meal n hospitality.plesse stop by n say hi an enjoy ,please try there pan fried haddock.u definitely won't go wrong

Beautiful spot, Friendly people, lots to do (for a fee, which makes sense! Don't be foolish thinking the place pays for itself with smiles), The restaurant is amazing with good portions. A great group of seasonal campers and the cottages (with TV and bell fine) are literally 10 steps from the lake. Yes there are leeches but the place is called "the lakes" not the ocean, go back and pick up a grade 3 science book. And there are flies (grab that book again). If you are looking for the Ritz, maybe not the place for you. The only improvement I would recommend is the wifi but then again... Put your phone down and spend time with your family

We have a seasonal lot here. Great community and lots to do with the kids. Located close to all the good beaches on the north shore and everything the Highlands has to offer.

My husband and I came from Ontario to The Lakes Campground and Restaurant for our 5th wedding anniversary. We highly recommend this place. The staff go above and beyond, the restaurant has excellent food. Very friendly campground. We will be going back next year. Thank you Michel & Agnes and staff.

Great location for travels on The Cabot Trail and general Cape Breton travels. Lots of things for family activities though we didn't participate. Beautiful views. Owners are great people. Interesting that we shared a Navy kinship. Only had one meal at restaurant which was excellent. You won't go away hungry.

Highly recommend The Lakes. We're already planning our trip for next year.

The owners are extremely nice and incredibly helpful.
Stayed here as a base camp for our motorcycle trip around the Cabot trail. Our campsite was large, level and wooded. Very good.
Great meals in the restaurant, good portions.
Wonderful location, beautiful scenery.
Lots for kids/teenagers to do.
I didn't stay in them, but the cabins they rent looked very nice and large.

As you can tell from this review I was impressed with this campground and the people who run the facilities. I will be returning and recommending this location to anyone heading to this area.

I can only comment on the go karts.. but they are so much fun! There's one with a two seater that I could take my 5 year old in, but my 7 year old was able to drive on his own. His first time he had a few crashes into the tires but never got hurt and the attendant was super polite about it and never made us feel badly. It's a very nice area!

I can't rate rooms as we were camping with our trailer.
This was a beautiful place. We enjoyed our time there.

Food was fantastic. Hot turkey dinner ."special " it was super cozy, some elderly locals enjoying coffee,Newspaper , really reminded me of a simpler time, didn't want to leave, hot apple crisp ,made fresh a feet away makes it impossible not to have desert, staff is amazing..felt like a trip to mums...highlight of Cabot trail. 6 🌟

Excellent food, welcoming, delightfully pleasant staff and a casual, comfortable surrounding. Just what was needed after a beautiful day on the Cabot Trail which was in its full fall colour glory.

I tented here all week, the staff is absolutely awesome even got me cake for my little guys birthday while we were here. Lots of stuff to do the lake and mountain views are absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves the outdoors. One of the best campgrounds I have been to

I have been staying at this awesome place off and on for many years and am always very impressed by the whole experience. The grounds are great and the view spectacular. There's lots to do for the kids and even wifi. I wish the best for the wonderful staff and owners and hope this place remains in it's pristine state for a long, long time. Thanks!

Great place to come and stay, perfect for the whole family.

The owners were really helpful, when we arrived with our tent on a rainy and thundery evening. We would have had a terrible night, if they hadn't offered us their trailer for the night.

Elizabeth, the cook, waitress and tourist information gal here was an amazing hostess. The food was excellent and there was lots of it. Highly recommend stopping here for any meal.

5 years here at The Lakes... Beautiful get away not far from home and on the Cabot Trail... Enjoy nature at it's best... Swimming, go carts, mini golf for all and much more. Wishing you all a wonderful summer!
