Excellent food in a super location overlooking the water. We shared the calamari rings, which were a tad chewy but still delicious and the dipping sauces were great. My husband had the chicken parm, which he said was probably the best he's ever had (the sauce has some kick). I had a bowl of seafood chowder which was LOADED with amazing seafood. Atmosphere was quieter (which we prefer) than other popular venues. They stay open til 8:30, while many others close at 7, even on a Saturday.

Went here with a large group. Good value on a whole lobster dinner. Service was good. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

What a find! We had a very good meal. The escargot appetizer was fantastic. There are a lot of great restaurants but this restaurant stood out. Very friendly staff.

We went to this restaurant at the first of September, the food was excellent, I had the fish tacos, they were cooked perfectly along with the spinach, beet and goat cheese salad omg it was delicious. My husband had the chicken parmesan, he said it was so good and a huge portion, had enough for left overs. We sat on the patio as we had our dog with us and our server was so sweet and brought him a bowl of water.

Great meal, our waitress was amazing.
I had the Cajun chicken, and it was tender and spicy. My wife had the crab cakes ,she really liked them. Cocktails were not bad, but I was disappointed when I could not order a classic martini because they had no gin. Overall great service and great food. I recommend 👌

Our meal was A+. Great view of the water. The seafood chowder was milk based, very favorable but not too thick and gummy. My lobster was cooked perfect - tender not over cooked. We also got the haddock fish and chips which was so fresh and seasoned just right.. We would also recommend the local lager they have on tap. My wife and I are from New Orleans and know great food - this place was had it.

Aside from being a little slow (the staff were short handed) our experience was awesome. The food was delicious and everyone was so friendly! My husband said the Maple Spinach Salad was one of the best salads he’s ever eaten in his life. A must visit for anyone passing through Baddeck.

I ordered chicken wings for the table and the Bistro Burger with Beet and Goat Cheese salad. The wings were nicely done and crisp and the salad was delicious with the best poppyseed dressing I've had. Now lets get to that burger. Homemade, thick, juicy and so tasty. We dined overlooking the Baddeck waterfront with excellent service. A fine way to spend an afternoon!!!

We are never disappointed here. Cindy served us tonight. Anticipated every need. True Cape Breton hospitality. The chowder was absolutely delicious and loaded with fresh seafood. Appetizer of Mussels cooked perfectly. My son had the seafood pasta alfredo, same thing he had last year, he’s been looking forward to it. Huge scallops and prawns cooked perfectly. Fish and chips were fantastic. Lobster, again cooked perfectly. Hand cut fries! But the ‘icing on the cake’ are the desserts made in house. Gingerbread cake and a rhubarb crumble, just to die for. You really don’t get perfect experiences in restaurants any more. This was a 5/5!

We went for an early supper so it wasn't especially busy. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We are a party of 5... I had the fish tacos with a bistro salad served with a strawberry vinaigrette... the best fish tacos I ever had. My kids ordered seafood alfredo, chicken alfredo and the black bean burger. Husband had the fish and chips. Everyone cleaned their plates and then STILL managed to have dessert! they have quite a good selection to choose from... but the star of the show was the homemade coconut cream pie. (I knew it was homemade but the waitress confirmed her grandmother bakes the pies occasionally as a special) the homemade lemonade was also very welcome on this hot & sunny day. This family run business is my favorite place to eat in Baddeck and if you give it a try, it will be yours too.

We originally went for the Baddeck Lobster supper but unfortunately it wasn't due to open for business for a couple of days. But the lady inside saw that we were perplexed and came outside to inform us personally that they were not ready to open until June 5. She, however, offered us alternatives for our seafood supper...Bell Buoy was her seafood choice so we made a be-line to this restaurant nestled right on the wharf side with a great view of the water. My wife ordered the full steamed Lobster with chowder and I had the Lobster roll and chowder. My compliments to the chef and staff for giving us a memorable seafood experience that brought the charm and Cape Breton hospitality to exponential new heights. The Chef Collen and her husband Mark (family business) made our evening a wonderful new memory to add to our lifetime of wonderful worldly experiences. Our waitress Larissa (Chef Colleen and Marks daughter) brought charm, hospitality and humour to our wonderful dinner, Thank you so much Bell Buoy for allowing us to experience the very best that Cape Breton in general and Baddeck in particular offering us the very best in seasonal seafood fare.
Cheers,
Barb & Kevin Furlong

My experience was excellent. The service was excellent, the food was amazing. The liver dinner is to die for. The Bistro Salad has an amazing homemade strawberry vinaigrette that is absolutely delicious. The owner was great going around to the tables to see if everyone enjoyed their delicious meals. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. My hats off to the staff and owners.

Weary travellers stopped for some dinner on Saturday evening and these lovely people managed to fit us in despite a private party inside. The service was very friendly and efficient, the food was phenomenal and the beer selection was very welcome after 20 hours’ journey. We also very much enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the country music. Thoroughly recommended.
