Lakeside Restaurant

My husband and I brought our 2 boys to Cape Breton, we drove a long way from PEI. When we arrived it was already 19:00. Lakeside was one of the restaurants that was still open.

We were greeted professionally and the overall services were good. We came near the end of season (we were told the restaurant would be temporarily closed one day after our dinner) so they did not offer everything in the menu. We ordered coconut shrimp and bacon-wrapped scallops as starters to share, followed by a sirloin steak, salmon and duck breast as mains. The food arrived gorgeously and they tasted good as well.

Overall we had had a great dinner in lakeside and felt warmed with their services.

My wife & I went to Lakeside without a reservation. They were very gracious & seated us at a window overlooking the docks & lake. The food & atmosphere were fantastic. Very worthwhile

So far this season I have ate here at least once per week. I have tried most of the menu, and there are no bad choices. Top picks: potato salad, oysters, lobster, fried chicken, burgers, chocolate cake.

Excellent afternoon on the patio. Great entertainment with Andrew Doyle and great service from Laura. Food was excellent- the sea-ceuterie platter and layered potato salad were top notch! Highly recomend

After a day of sailing with or Cape Breton Sainling Charters Food was wonderful. Service is kind and accommodating a skilled and amazing team. What more can you ask for.

Everything is amazing. We love the seafood chowder, halibut, seafood Mac and bies. The service is also excellent. The kids portion is big! Highly recommend.

Great service and the food was delicious! I forgot to take pictures because we ate everything so fast. Our server, Donna-Lee was super friendly and welcoming, and our food came quickly. Also great view of the lake which was nice during sunset. Thanks!!
