supper was great fast service, very full lobster roll, hot turkey sandwich was well packed with real turkey

This is a very nice gift shop on the Cabot Trail. It had a huge selection of products with reasonable prices. There is an upstairs gift shop too. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant but it doesn’t open until 11am. This place is well worth the stop!

Loved their gift shop! They have everything a tourist going through the area could ask for. Both of the ladies working the shop were extremely nice and helpful, and the shop was beautifully organized.
Go there for your New Brunswick, Cape Breton, and Canada related gifts!

Love this gift shop and always make a point if stopping in! They also have a restaurant that always smells amazing. And a mini putt course and prices are reasonable! Very fun!

This is a great spot for food, souvenirs, mini golf and stretching your legs!

Been coming to the Red Barn for my whole life when we we go camping, go to Margaree or come back home to CB for a visit.

Big enough driveway to pull in a 32 foot RV and comfortably park it.

I was here a few days ago and bought two pairs of earrings (the same pair, but one gold, the other silver) and a teeny tiny glass crab. I have only posted one pair of earrings because I'm wearing the other 😍😍✨
I've never been to the restaurant, but I can only picture good things coming out of that place 💪❤

We stopped at the Red Barn to browse the gift shop. This was a truly nice surprise for us. The gift shop had lots of items folks may be interested in. But to be fair, maybe not. I am not a gift shop, or shopping kind of person in anyway. But even I found something I would liked to have taken home. But circumstances prevented that. I'm honestly not sure if that was good or bad.
Of course the wife managed to find some items that of were deemed necessary items for purchase. As such, they have joined our journey through NS.
We also found that the Red Barn has a nice little restaurant in the rear of the building to go along with the two gift shops and miniature golf course out back. No we did not try the golf. But we did return later to try out the restaurant for dinner. The food was quite good with large portions. Dinner was also at a reasonable price. Our server was excellent and very friendly.
In fact, we dealt with at least five different staff members, maybe more. We spoke at fairly good lengths with almost all of them. Trying not to keep them from their job and other patrons. Everyone acted as though we have been friends for a while, and didn't just venture in today.
Being close to a thousand miles (I guess that would be about 1,600 or so kilometers). It's nice to have folks who have never met you, and may never see you again. Treat you as a welcome old friend. I would like to thank all the employees of the Red Barn for the nice chats and great meal. And if it isn't obvious, I recommend stopping in if you have the time.

Love the gift shops and the staff were amazing!!! We didn't get food...only visited the gift shops.

This is not just a gift shop, or restaurant, it is an icon. It is a big red sign that says "you're home". I look forward to seeing this every time I journey back to Cape Breton. I grew up playing mini golf here, grabbing local items for my mom for Christmas, it is memories of "we are almost home" when coming from away. And when I was traveling, it was the sign that my adventure is beginning. I know that I'm not the only one that feels this way about this place. To many of us, this place is a symbol of so much more love and excitement with family and friends. Not to mention a primary source of directions before we had GPS. "Can't miss it, just take a right (or left) at the Big Red Barn" was words I heard many times, and no one ever did. Thank you guys for being there all these years. Cheers to many more

Stopped in on our road trip, picked up few souvenirs and grabbed lunch, food was good, kinda woulda been nicer if the fish and fries were homemade and local

The Red Barn is a symbol of joy during any car ride on Cape Breton. The gift shop is full of beautiful, locally relevant souvenirs. The restaurant is wonderful, and the service and atmosphere around the whole establishment is stellar the cherry on top? It has mini-golf! (Who doesn't love mini-golf?) All in all, the Red Barn is in a class of its own, and makes for a wonderful place to stop while on the road, even if it's just to stretch your legs during a long drive.

Nice place to have a locally sourced fish and chips for a fair price.

This place is adorable. You're able to get gifts for loved ones and the Christmas section is perfect for those little gifts for Christmas time.

Was making reservations for supper with the family and the place was packed. They gave us a free round of mini golf to pass the time. About 45 mins later we were told that they were later because the people before us ordered dessert as well. When we got in to order, they apologized about the delay and took 30% off the order and a free round of golf the next time we are coming through . Great service, friendly staff and very accommodating. Food was great as well 😋. Thank you to the great staff. Highly recommend.

Excellent dinner. My quiche was great and my daughter had the meat loaf which she said was delicious. Sadly we had no room for dessert because they looked very tasty.
After eating we browsed through the gift shop and then played miniature golf. The course was fun and a couple of holes were challenging but definitely provided fun for our family.

Very cool gift shop with both the usual touristy gifts and souvenirs along with the wares of local artist and craftspeople. Great selection of t-shirts, hats, local music, books and all kinds of great things. You can even research the origins of your family name. The restaurant has awesome home cooked food and some of the best service around! One of our favourite stops when in the area and we have never been disappointed.

Wonderful gift shop with something for everyone.

The pottery is gorgeous and I love gifting a new piece to my friends every year for their Christmas present. Lots of unique ideas for everyone. Already looking forward to going back.
