Can’t say anything bad about this hospital. Drove 1 hour and it was worth it! VERY clean and very friendly staff. In and out in 15 minutes with a appointment! No crowded waiting room. Would recommend to anyone.

Showed up with our 4 year old with acute abdominal distress while on vacation. From admitting to release staff were fantastic. It was extremely busy but the staff were able to get our daughter in and seen by a dr very quickly regardless how busy the rest of the emergency was. The nurse was beyond comforting to our daughter and the dr was great with rapid testing and treatment that resulted in only being at the hospital a short time and continued on with our vacation. One of the best experiences in healthcare ever thanks to the staff

I have been using the emergency services at the Victoria County Memorial hospital for over 20 years and cannot say anything but the best about all of the Doctors and nurses who work there. The xray tech and the women in the lab are very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of their work!!

A number of years ago I was a patient in this hospital for five days, the care received was second to none the staff were just great.

Very decent and comfortable

(US citizens traveling in Canada) I took my husband to this hospital in an emergency shortly after arriving in town. They immediately recognized a serious situation, treated him quickly, and after stabilizing his condition they facilitated ambulance transport to the larger regional hospital. The staff were professional, kind and helpful; one of the staff volunteered to drive 50 miles to the regional hospital so I could follow her car and not get lost in this unfamiliar area (she even gave me the coins necessary for the hospital parking). I am thankful we were near this hospital at the time, one of the few in this very rural area.

The attitude you get over the phone doesn't sell the place at all. They sound bitter and rude.

Unless you are white, this hospital is not for you.

Yesterday I visited this hospital to show my swollen shoulder, I came down here thinking that I will be attended quickly and treated in max 2 hours. When I entered there were only 2 patients waiting, after that two more patients came in after me. Everything was going smoothly, till the nurse came in and asked me to sit in room number 4. I was waiting for the doctor to come in and check me. My appointment was at 11 00am, but I was waiting till 2:00pm. I was loosing my patience sitting in that room waiting for the doctor, I could see the doctor walking here and there attending all the other patients, standing in front of reception talking to the nurses, laughing, the doctor then came in and said I'm sorry to make you guys wait we said it's ok and then he got a call, he said he needs to attend this and he left, and he didn't came back, I still started walking in my room and tried to check if he is around he saw me looking at him, came to the room and said please don't think I am ignoring you guys I will be back in two minutes.
By 2:30 I couldn't control myself and felt really bad, I went out to use the washroom, I checked if it's that busy, it was not according to what I saw, everyone was getting attended but it was just me who was not attended by the doctor, I felt ignored differentiated by the way the healthcare workers treated by ignoring me from 11am, by 2:30pm after washroom I went down to the reception and asked how much more do I have to wait, she said there is some emergency and you might have to wait for a while, I could see the doctor still around the reception. He was doing something, felt bad and went inside my room, the ignorance, the differentiation everything was overwhelming, when I left the reception I could hear them saying my name, after that in two minutes the lady doctor came in (after I asked the person who was sitting in reception in just 2mins) the lady doctor examined me and told me that I need xray, did my xray in 10mins she came in and said it's just swollen nothing serious, gave me some prescriptions and left.
It was just a half hour procedure. For that I was almost waiting from 11am to 2:30pm.
From what I have seen in reviews and also when I saw that there are only few patients not even busy, did I deserve to be treated like this? My eyes were full of tears when the lady doctor came in and examined me. This is not right. I really had a bad experience here, and it would be hard for me to visit this hospital again thinking that I will be ignored and differentiated.

I also saw a review here, she said that unless you are white this hospital is not for you and now after this experience I agree with her.

The receptionist was about as friendly as a shaken rattle snake, the nurses were all very nice and helpful......the receptionist not so. The hospital used to be great years ago, there is a different feel now.

The receptionist at the hospital is an utter disgrace. She is the rudest receptionist I have had the distinct displeasure to come across in a very long time. I would not donate one cent to this hospital foundation and you can be assured that I will be voicing this opinion to others. Shame on the management of this hospital for allowing this type of behaviour in a professional setting. I am offended that my tax dollars are supporting such a sub-standard employee.
