Central Builders - Home Hardware Building Centre

Our first visit to this store since moving to Courtenay a few weeks ago. We were greeted by friendly staff and were told we could being our dog inside. That is what other Home Hardware stores do in Ontario. Unlike other large box stores here in Courtenay.

We also were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and shared some of the history of the building. We went to the lighting department and we were also well treated. Everyone was very helpful.

Overall, a great experience, we will be back for sure.

Wonderful experience in the store today. I am looking for vinyl for my deck. Beverley, in flooring, is a great asset to Central Builders-Courtenay. I was greeted by the front customer service employee as soon as I walked in the door. Mark guided me to the right person to help me with my queries. Thank you.

Right downtown, the friendliest service I've ever had at a hardware store, or any store really. Even the yard guys are helpful and friendly. I know I like this place because when I think of price checking or want more selection at other hardware stores slightly further away I go, nah, why bother when they have just enough and I feel confident and relaxed at Central.

A warm place to visit. Very helpful and friendly. I had problems finding an unusual item, asked for help and got exactly that. Saved me a lot of time looking. Then the cashier was friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well organized, and competitively priced.

I probably should be writing a review for all Home Hardware stores I have been to. I found all of the stores had happy staff readily to help, they were not only resourceful and helpful, but most importantly they were willing to help!

Yesterday I was away from home after 3 hours driving for a wood repair, but my measurement was a bit off so that the bolt hole was off by 3mm. Coming home and returning would be just another day of driving. The lady at the customer service suggested I would be able to get their store tools to extend the hole, which Chris came around and helped me. It saved my day!

As usual, I have been always willing to drive a bit more distance to get my hardware from Home Hardware stores as much as I can. I support the stores that support me!

PS: this is a great contrast of experience, I had visited Home Depot in town but was sent to buy a drill bit and a rental of a power drill but still had no place for me to work. I cannot blame them as that is their business to decide how to help customers.

The best staff who are ready to help always. You don’t need to look far for help and they have been great with special orders.

Better prices than Home Depot a lot of the time.

As a landscape business owner, I am in Central Builders all the time, and they are always great. Good selection of products, and excellent service always.

As owner builders we canvassed a number of door suppliers in and around Comox Valley and Campbell River. When we came upon Central Builders in Courtenay we hit the jackpot. The team in doors is knowledgeable and professional. They helped us towards achieving our vision and the interior/exterior door package is top notch in quality and pricing. They have gone above and beyond in customer service to boot. Can’t say enough good things! Highly recommended!

Again they have gone above and beyond, Custon cuts, plastic tube for trim, gave pallet tarping and dunnage to hod it down during an incredibly wet day. Fast professional happy service all at better pricing than the box store up the hill. This level of service is becoming a rarity, THANK YOU!

Called for a quote on a deck kit I saw online and Tim Called me back promptly and left me a message, which I had missed, then followed up again at the end of the day. It's rare to find a company that will call you back once, let alone follow up when they don't get through. Thoroughly impressed by the customer service!

Picked up play sand, was very happy to see it was stored indoors, not as soggy as some other stores. Staff member loaded it into the car after paying inside. Drove in through the gate to have it loaded into the car.

We interacted with over 6 staff. Each and everyone were polite, efficient and so knowledgeable. We are doing a HUGE reno and this will be our "go to" building supply place.

My wife and I are new to Campbell River area. In searching for a new portable indoor air conditioner. We found ourselves in contact with the Appliance manager (Richard). Who went a above and beyond to assist us in our inquiries. As well as guiding us to make the correct purchase for our residence. We couldn't be more pleased with our purchase and his recommendation. Richard you are a tribute to your team and we appreciated your excellent customer service skills.

The staff are really nice and helpful. The store has an amazing inventory alot of things that you don't expect from a hardware store. There is lots of parking.

Central builders as a locally owned company that has been serving the community in the Comox valley for many decades. Their lighting section is so remarkable and I am so impressed at the amount of tile selection they have as well. With their appliance section and their window coverings and all of the home building and rental area, they are one stop shop! Mark is managing that place very well!

We are so happy with the flooring we purchased from Home Hardware. We went to several places and with the selection, price and customer service we decided on HH. Bev was right on top of our order from the beginning to the end following up with any questions we had. The flooring was quickly ordered and the installation was on time. Matt was a professional installer and worked all day with hardly a pause painstakingly matching the colours of our trim. We hope to purchase more of this flooring from Home Hardware in the future.
