We went to the Story Cafe for brunch with the kids. The food was excellent. The service was good too.
The waffles, eggs Benedict, and potatoes were yummy. The French onion soup is worth a mention, too.
There's a time limit to how long you are allowed to stay, which is the only negative as they inform you of this as you are being seated. Maybe there's a better way to inform of this.

This place has been on my radar for quite a while, and I was glad to visit it for the first time (finally) a couple of days ago. What a great experience!

Everything we had, from our appetizers to every single main dish ordered, was incredible, with no weak dishes among the bunch. The honey mussels (large and flavourful, with generous portion size) and the pork chop (also generously proportioned while being one of the most tender pork chops I've ever tried) deserve special mention. Service was warm and friendly - David, our server, made sure we were well looked after throughout the night.

I'm looking forward to returning to this place to see how well they craft their other menu options.

Absolutely love the place.
We went there for a weekend brunch, loved it so much that we returned for a dinner date 2 days after.
And planning to go back for a Hong Kong music night dinner. Menu is quite intensive, and all the dishes we tried so far were good so we feel confident to come back for other options.
Service was good! Ambiance is cozy and intimate.

First time visiting the Story Café with some regulars. I love the decor. It’s such a cute little place tucked away in a more industrial type area. The server was friendly. I don’t know if they have refills on coffee but I was never offered a refill. The food was really good. We ordered the beef pappardelle, truffle fries, and a mushroom burger, and the eggs Benny. We each tried some of each dish, and honestly, I have not had this quality of food in a long time, unless it was at a more high end restaurant. The parking can be a bit of an issue as there is free street parking but only for two hours. There is a paid parking lot though across the street. A nice cozy place for friends to gather and have some privacy to catch up. Music plays but not too loud.

Chicken waffle is amazing! Service is beyond good! The Asian girl there is such a sweet heart! I guess she overheard that I said happy birthday to my friend so she prepared a surprise dessert. Thank you!

Dinner was delicious! We got the truffle fries, frog legs and steak bites as apples. The truffle fries were very flavourful and definitely a staple of we come back. The frog legs were tender. For main, we got the rack of lamb legs, sablefish, beef pappardelle and scallop shrimp risotto. The sablefish and scallops were amazing - very buttery and fresh. The scallops were done really well. Would definitely get these again. Not a huge meat eater but the other mains were also yummy. We got a bottle of wine to share - their wine selection was not great though. We shared a dessert, the crepe flambé - big portion to share between 4. Can’t imagine one person finishing it alone. It was good but we didn’t get much of a burn so the alcohol was quite strong.

Overall, food was really good and the service is average. Atmosphere and decor was vibey - lots to look at! Apparently there’s a live performer some weekday nights - would be worth cling back for. Group of 4, we spent $336 after tax and tip.

Fantastic brunch spot. Was our first time stopping in, but won’t be our last! Recommend the eggs Benny any style! Salmon and fried chicken versions were yum!
Overall- Delicious and fresh food, kind and friendly staff, and cozy/musical vibes all around. Lots of photo ops and props around, they even deliver the bill in a story book! 🤗10/10!

Awesome restaurant and great atmosphere. The Story is super popular so make sure you have a reservation and I'd recommend an early reservation because at my 7:30 dinner they had already run out of a few items. Regardless the food was delicious. The lobster bisque was an excellent warm starter and the signature risotto had massive shrimp on top that were cooked to perfection. Great selection of beers wine and cocktails as well. The live music was very enjoyable and created an awesome ambiance throughout the night

Everything we ordered was really good! The truffle fries had a good amount of truffle oil on top but it wasn't even throughout the fries; the honey mussels were so soft and tasty; the signature risotto was lovely and had 3 jumbo scallops and 3 jumbo prawns, I enjoyed the broccolini that gave it an added texture; the crab cakes had a great seafood flavour and were nice and crunchy on the outside; the burrata salad was plated really prettily and the beet puree was great; and the desserts were so yummy. We had the smores and lava cake, both were delicious! The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was nice and cozy.

We had the surf n turf, fried chicken eggs benny, cappuccino and chai latte and all of it was Delish! Added some truffle aioli to dip the smash browns which is recommended if you like sauces :)

Service was great and the food came out quickly. We will be back!

This is a cool little spot in Richmond for live music and casual bites. They have a casual western food, drinks, and live music that is quite entertaining. They have an interesting backstory which they provide in the menu and a collection of cool stuff.

The food is fairly decent and is a nice spot for families or dates. The crowd is quite variable, with diverse age appeal.

Definitely make a reservation so that you get a seat. There’s free street parking which makes it easily accessible by car.

Cute little brunch spot with great music selection and aesthetic! Friendly staff was quick and efficient and my meal was exactly what I was looking for - I love when I can mix sweet and savory! A good sized portion; it looked small on the plate but I finished pretty full and happy.

Wow what a GEM! We were staying right down the road at the Hampton Inn for one night before a cruise and this place was the only good thing in the area! We were in love the minute we walked in! Live guitarist/ vocalist playing some of our favourite tunes and the food was divine. Next time I’m in Richmond I will definitely be coming back!

Very Pricy yes. But wait... Blame it on inflation, blame it on Trudeau.

$20 for a dish of egg benedict? When did bacon and eggs become so expensive???

Plus the restaurant is in the middle of no where! Must be the taxes... Thanks Trudeau.

Food was excellent though.

Decor was retro. Some may not be their cup of tea but well done.

The Story Cafe has truly become our favorite restaurant in Richmond since we moved here three years ago. It never fails to deliver a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere is always inviting, and the service is consistently excellent.

My go-to dishes, the beef pappardelle and beet salad, are a delight every time. What we love most is that we can enjoy this fantastic food both in the cozy ambiance of the restaurant and from the comfort of our home through their delivery service.

The Story Cafe has certainly won our hearts, and we look forward to many more years of enjoying their delicious food and warm hospitality.

Food was great, the chicken and waffles was delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Enviornment is rustic, and their outdoor patio area stays nice and warm in the Winter time. Great place to go for an out-of-towner! Not too far from the airport either! Parking is limited, recommend parking across the street, as this is a corner restaurant.

Food was great. I had the surf and turf gno and cheese and one of the Benny's. The surf and turf was very rich but it's a good kind of rich. Would definitely come here again and recommend to friends.

Went the Story Cafe on Thursday Cantonese music night. I ordered the carbonara and calamari. I think they have the best carbonara and calamari in town.

The sauce blended with spaghetti and all stuffings and seasoning. My first bite was a "wow".

Deep fried calamari with crispy coating and soft body. Unlike those really dry calamari in other pubs

I will definitely come back on other Thursday nights.

Seriously it is the best mushroom 🍄 burger 😋🍔 in town, as stated in the menu. The bun, beef patty, the sauteed mushroom, with the m. Cheese, these combination names itself.

To be continued...

Fun, friendly atmosphere and service. Hot seafood platter and Canadian burger were excellent.

The truffle fries were very small for $17 and a bit oily and undercooked for my liking. I would not get the lobster bisque again. It had about a teaspoon of lobster in it and needed salt. Weirdly, it did not come with any toast or crackers, nor did the caviar. I thought since they baked their own pastries, it would be a no-brainer. They were out of clam chowder.

A table of 8 tweens came in part-way through our meal and ruined the ambiance but that is not the restaurant’s fault.
