Newly opened Cafe in Moonah made my day. Nice coffee ( they gave free coffee to taste with food now). Nice people, outdoor area, and the most important is delicious food. Lots of vegan and GF options as well. Will definitely back with my friend. Good job!

This cafe has a new owner. You will not find Nepali food there now. However, it is a cosy and delightful place. We took the crispy chicken burger and the Beef Burger A Lot. Both were delicious. We wish the new owner success.

OMG see what I found. Very hard to get whole wings in TAS for wings lovers, and can you tell it is Air Fried?? No I cannot. Taste even better than grilled or deep fried. New cafe in Moonah surprised me. Will come back to try the dinner as well.

I have been to all Nepalese restaurants in Hobart, and never found the authentic Nepalase taste until Hangout Cafe and restaurant opened.
The service is exceptional with very friendly and attentive staff. The Quality of food is beyond belief. Value of money for the food as well.
Specially buff momo and aalu zeera is a must try. 👍

Absolutely beautiful food, very friendly, amazing customer service, perfect amount of food, beautifully presented and the price was just right! Also the gravy was so yummy we drank it. Highly recommend!

I don’t usually write reviews but this place… I had to.
The food here was amazing, comparable to top quality restaurants with cheaper prices. The staff were incredibly friendly and open to conversation. I came in during a quiet time but even as the place got more filled, the atmosphere was calming and enjoyable.

My only one feedback is: we need pulled pork loaded fries. The food here is divine and I’m sure they could knock pulled pork fries out of the park as well.

Went for a lunch yesterday. We tried Goat curry with rice, veg momo chicken Jhol momo, Bhutan set and veg platter. The taste was out of the world so delicious.
It was a best experience of trying here for the first time.
Definitely coming back again.

Tried Nepalese foods few times but this was my best experience of tasting a delicious foods. The spices are so good. The chef was very friendly and welcoming, very down to earth. Biryani samosa chat, monos all were so yummy.
Thank you , we will visit again surely.

Also i ordered Sadheko platter which was amazing quantity and it fulfilled my Drinking food needs 😏.

Great place, with authentic nepalese and indian food. Really enjoyed the Momo & Bhutan.....This wasn’t the first and definitely not the last visit at The HANGOUT Cafe and Restaurant, any food is simply delicious and cooked to it’s perfection.....😝 …..!!!!

Very kind staff. Accommodating my small child very well, offered her a chocolate. The coffee was delicious and so was our meal. 100% would go back and support this small business

I came to Hobart all the way from Sydney to try some international cuisine and landed upon The Hangout Cafe. I looked at the menu to see typical Nepalese foods in one section of the menu while in another there is choice for varieties of continental cuisines. So if you are an Aussie trying to play it safe you can get some other options as well.

I tried their special "Sukuti Chowmein" which was a mixture of Nepalese spices on a spaghetti with slices of buffalo jerky. That really stood out for me. Plus, the customer service was nice. The staffs were looking out for you incase you needed any assistance.

Overall a 10/10 experience. Would visit again if I come back to Tasmania.

One of the best experience i had over here, worth trying sadeko platter and buff momo, Authentic Nepalese flavour. Even the burger was really good. The service we received was amazing, smiles on everyones faces; will definately visit again on my next trip to hobart.

One of the great authentic Nepalese restaurants, nice ambiance and good hospitality. Cooked with fresh ingredients and enough portion size. If you are in Hobart, please do try this restaurant.
