First time visiting Roots and Reasons and such a great place. Wonderful food - tasty and fresh - and the coffee and drinks were perfect. Will definitely recommend to others!

What a lovely place with a great vibe and great food! It's packed in Hahndorf today, at 3pm, this place was a haven of tranquility for my dog and I. Shady tables outside, air con tables in. I had the special, salmon mousse with olive oil and rocket on sourdough, $17, plus an iced coffee made exactly as I liked. The owner came to check on me and say hi to the dog. Lovely 😍Ate the delicious toasty before I thought to review!

Staff were fabulous, and the coffee was exceptional. It was that good, I had a latte followed by single origin double espresso ❤

Hot cross bun truffles were ridiculously delicious, as was the coffee and smoothie. The shop fit-out and friendly service also 10/10. Also, hot sauces/condiments freely available. Big win. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

First time in town, I was looking for vegan option and found this place with the most best options. Besides that, the cafe offers a wonderful atmosphere, the food taste is delicious, lovely staff and kind owner.
Definitely I highly recommend this place and looking forward to come back and try the other option.

Lovely little family run cafe with delicious food. Got to meet their little boy running out in a onesie while waiting for breakfast 😆 Their friendly and very well behaved dog came out for pats, and very briefly tried the big brown eyed puppy eyes trick 🥺 for some of my breakfast - it was unsuccessful, the French toast was so good I wasn't giving it up for anyone!

We stumbled upon this gem on our visit to Handoff. The owner is so friendly, generous and hospitable. Great coffee and smoothies (can recommend the mango and coconut smoothie- delicious!) All the cakes are homemade on site by the owner's wife and they are so yummy! We sampled a hot cross bun truffle - what an amazing invention! A must visit when in Handoff!

We had the most wonderful morning in this cafe. It’s casual-elegant and homely. The breakfast was amazing + best coffee we’ve had on our trip . Also our kids were welcomed and given lovely games to play. Would highly recommend this spot!

At the quieter end but for me the most peaceful and beautiful end of Hahndorf is Roots n Reasons. Their toasties are awesome and so is their coffee but there is more on the menu. Everything is made fresh on-site. Once a month they have a music sesh and this May we enjoyed the music with a beautiful prawn Laksa 😋, AND a generous amount of prawns! I love the mornings there in Hahndorf but anytime is a good time. ☀

Delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. Who doesn't love soups and toasties. The food was great, customer service was great, its well priced. Will definitely come back ☺

First time I’ve been here and now I wonder why I haven’t been before! Soup & cheese toasty special was amazing and the Ruben… omg!

Yummm. Great toasties and great coffee. Nice location to watch the chill Hahndorf traffic. Worth checking out.
