The Summit Cafe and Function Centre

Family and work mates rallied together for a retirement event for my hubby.
Staff were very accommodating in many aspects, even storing my grandbaby's pram and providing take away boxes for the cake.
Service from staff was impeccable, friendly, helpful, nothing was too much trouble and dishes were cleared away promptly.
Many of the guests commented how good the food was and the atmosphere was very appealing.
The weather just happened to be perfect, so the view of Adelaide was clear.
We intend to be back, often.

Probably the best steak sandwich I've ever had. Great portion size, perfect after a long walk. Really friendly service and great team. Don't usually write reviews but had such a welcoming and good experience I felt it was important to. Got a short time in Adelaide Hills but will try and visit again before I leave as I enjoyed it that much.

What an absolutely amazing restaurant!
The staff were so happy & friendly. The food was made with Love and beyond expectations. The bread is baked onsite and is delicious. After doing the Mount Lofty Hike it was such a treat to get the Bircher (best ever) yum yum yum and steak sandwich was huge and so so good. The ham and cheese toastie my son said was the best he had ever had. So yes, we were all very very pleased. Tony the owner was so lovely & down to earth. It’s a reflection of his happy staff that he must be a really good boss. Would have given 10 stars 🌟

We booked Mt Lofty Summit Cafe, recently, for a private function, to celebrate a significant birthday. It was an intimate affair for 21 people, including 3 children. A number of our guests were flying in from interstate, and we wanted to showcase Adelaide’s finest.

We asked Andrew, the Manager, if he’d consider coordinating a unique degustation menu. The Cafe hadn’t done this before, so Andrew used his expert knowledge and worked with, who we now consider to be a very talented chef, to develop a 5-course degustation menu, using only locally sourced produce, along with wine pairings from the local region.

Andrew stayed in touch, every step of the way and the menu was set!

We arrived to bubbles and canapés, a lovely welcoming atmosphere, and a superb view out over Adelaide.

We were seated for the various courses. Ethan, our waiter, along with manager Andrew, took care of us all, for the entire evening. The service was superb! They were serving food, topping up drinks, keeping an eye on our and the kids’ needs, changing cutlery, picking up napkins… everything was perfect.

The chefs’ hard work paid off. Food presentation was beautiful, portions were generous, the mix of colours and flavours were inspirational.

We couldn’t have asked for a better venue, and evening. Everyone was so complementary and our birthday boy was grinning from ear to ear, to not only have his nearest and dearest celebrate his milestone, but also to experience the best that Adelaide has to offer.

We highly recommend engaging with Andrew and the team, at Mt Lofty Summit Cafe, and doing something a little different, for an intimate gathering.

Fantastic meal. Salt and pepper squid 🐙 is awesome. Iced chocolate drinks are a great for the eyes as well as the belly. Staff we sooo welcoming. 🙏

We drove to the summit and were surprised to find this very large cafe and information centre. There is indoor and outdoor seating with amazing views back to the ocean. The service was great and there were lots of cakes to chose from including lots of GF options and one GF/DF cake. There are toilets and an information centre next door. You can do 300m discovery walk or other much longer walks so do some homework before you go if you enjoy a good hike. The only downside if you have a car is the cost of parking. It’s a flat $5.20 which is a bit steep if you are just going for a coffee. Having said that it’s highly recommended

What a lovely place for lunch! The view is pretty amazing and lunch in the cafe on a cold winters day is a perfect place to be. The food was really yummy, service was good and the atmosphere was relaxed and easy. Parking was easy at the summit, a short stroll to the cafe and view. Remember to pay the parking meter. It is a good idea to reserve a table ahead for the busier days. Definitely come again :)

Took interstate visitors and we were seated by a window because I had marked, when I booked, that it was their first visit. A beautiful clear day so they were very impressed with the view but they also loved the food. Service was great and these people (from Qld and frequent overseas travellers) thought the prices were very good. I like the fact that the whole menu is available all day - not so much that the breakfast is all day (which is great) but more that the other dishes are available if you want them for breakfast).

We had a fabulous experience and can highly recommend The Mount Lofty Summit Restaurant/Cafe. Customer Service was outstanding. Our elderly parents were with us and everything we requested was granted with a smile, nothing was too much trouble, which was greatly appreciated and made our visits all the more enjoyable. Thank You!

Have been here many times over the years and we are always happy with the quality of food and service. Staff are friendly. Lovely views whether sitting outside or inside. It’s a nice way to reward yourself with lunch or treat after a hike or ride up the hill. Plenty of parking available at a flat rate of $4.
There’s often koalas 🐨 and kangaroos to be seen nearby.

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to so far. The food was so delicious and has a great view of the city.

The food for its price is very worth it because it is served in large quantities. I highly suggest you get Summer Salad. It's the highlight of our lunch!

We booked in advanced and they were kind enough to adjust it a bit when we went there. The waiters are very friendly and accommodating.

There's a $4.00 flat rate parking fee, but really worth it for the good food and the great view!

This place is amazing! Came here for my Nan's birthday and could not have been more impressed. I got the Summit Burger and it was astounding, the meat tasted great and was cooked perfectly. My Nan got a Pumpkin, carrot and ginger soup which I gave a little taste and holy moly it was perfect. Perfect temperature coming put of the kitchen, perfect texture, perfect mix of flavour. Thank you for the amazing day to all the amazing staff here!!

Andrew and the staff were a dream to work with and my daughters baby shower in her own words was “the best day ever.” Nothing was too much trouble and all of our guests were very impressed. I highly recommend The Summit Cafe for your special occasion.

This place has it all, huge selections of foods on the menu, cooked fresh and didn't have to wait long for the meals. The wine and beer list was extensive, so was the sweets selection.
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the meals were well priced. If that wasn't enough the real highlight is the best view of Adelaide and its surrounding suburbs from the huge restaurant windows.

You'll definitely love the atmosphere, it's well located on the summit and well decorated. The food and the coffee are not the best you could have, but both were completely good and nothing to complain about. It might get very busy so it is better to book in advance. We ordered the tower which you can see in the photo, depending on your diet, it easily feeds 4 to 7, if you are on a restricted diet even more 😂. The waffle tastes amazing, just you might fight over the only one ice cream on top.

Had the most amazing breakfast this morning and the service was amazing. Such kind staff and the food and coffee couldn’t have been better.

What a lovely place to visit! Beautiful city view from the Mount Lofty summit. Go for the trail walk up the hill and end up with a nice meal or coffee at this Cafe.
Friendly staff always welcome you with a smile.
Ample paid parking spots available.
Can be also reached by driving all the way to the cafe.
Step out to enjoy the cool breeze and the breathtaking scenery.

The food, coffee, and service at The Summit is amazing. From the delicious dishes to the expertly brewed coffee, everything is top-notch. The staff are polite and will take care of you during your visit, and the ambiance is perfect. Highly recommended!

Best scones in Adelaide! Crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. Warmed to perfection and just what we needed on a morning at Mount Lofty.
Shared one between 2 but could have easily had one each.
