Weston Park

Extensive picnic, recreation and walking area around south-western part of Lake Burley Griffin. Many picnic facilities, a beach area, walking/cycling path, disc golf course. Very peaceful.

Can't believe this little water feature / playground is still here. Have the strongest memories of racing gumleaves around this water feature nearly 35 years ago...

The family come here for our annual photoshoot in the freezing weather.

Didn’t check out the play area with train etc. had enough fun with all the free activities, but looked fun too.

A generally quiet and underused Canberra gem. The little bays and groves of mature trees provide a cool and pleasant place for walks and picnics. Formal playgrounds and free electric barbecues complete the experience. Or grab a keban at the Yarralumla shops and enjoy twilight by the lake.

A lovely park with plenty of open space, shady trees, and a variety of playgrounds and activities for children, including a nice water play area. Parking nearby, not too hard to get a park, and there's also a cafe nearby if you want a snack. Plenty of walking trails, and right on the water.

Its a beautiful park with views over the lake. Great place for kids or families for catch up or BBQ. Cafe is good with selection of snacks, coffee and ice creams. Ride on train is an adventurous journey.

Weston park is always my goto place if I want to fully relieve myself to throw a line in the water, not for the purpose of catching anything but enjoying the calm nature nearby. Lots of facilities around and the kangaroos. You have two nurseries at the entrance on the peninsula and are great too.

Beautiful park with lots of activity options for all ages, including water play, playground, sandpit, picnic spots, swimming in the lake, cycling, petanque and beautiful scenery to walk around and enjoy.

Stunning view with herds of kangaroos! At first we went deep into the park in the seek of the kangaroos but found none. Just when we were about to leave in disappointment the kangaroos came to our notice - they were resting under the trees and were barely visible among the plants because of their colour! So look carefully around you if you are a kangaroo-seeker like me!
P.S. The view from the three floating platforms is extraordinary!

A mob of kangaroos were at the park. Possibly quite used to humans and cars.
A good place to come to see kangaroos.
Play ground (with water play area) to keep the young ones busy.
BBQ stoves available.
Toilets were clean.

A relaxing place to visit with your whole family. There are multiple activities including a mini golf course.

Nice place for a picnic. Multiple BBQs , nice covered new tables and benchs. Beautiful views of the lake. You might see the roaming Kangaroos. Railway cafe is OK for a coffee. There is a playground for children

This is my favourite picnic spot in Canberra. In this particular spot it has one BBQ station so if you plan to use it better come early.

It is a bit difficult to access than other parks in Canberra, but you can see how it changes with the seasons. I especially like fall. In the late afternoon, you can easily see groups of kangaroos.

Always a great place to bring family and friends for a picnic or run around. It’s great having bathroom and BBQ facilities around for public use.

Additionally, the playground is also great for little ones, especially during summer when you can use the water park facilities.

Great looking park but kangaroos were not around mid day. The seldom coffee place at the center of the park thought haven't been the most exciting place to see. The park is great for running, cycling or just walking around.

Absolutely beautiful park with amazing views of the changing autumn colours and the serene lake.

I can't believe after living in Canberra for 20 years that I finally found this little piece of paradise.

Don't stop just at the train cafe, move down closer to the lake for sure where this is beautiful pond with seats and a great shady area.

Great place to take photographs of family, or if you're a photographer weddings and maternity shoots.
