Kangaroo Ridge Retreat

We had an absolutely delightful two-night getaway at Kangaroo Ridge, where we were treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery right from our room.

The well-stocked larder exceeded our expectations, offering everything we could possibly need, and the wine fridge boasted an impressive selection of local wines available for purchase. One evening, we opted for an Italian-themed night in, where all the ingredients were thoughtfully provided for us to whip up a delicious meal.

In addition to our relaxing retreat at the lodge, we indulged in a captivating wine tour, exploring the charm of several local wineries, and savored the flavors of locally produced cheeses during a delightful tasting session. One of the days we also went on a Kangaroo safari where we got very close to wild Kangaroos!

Overall, our experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and we found ourselves wishing we had extended our stay to enjoy more of Kangaroo Ridge's hospitality!

Kangaroo Ridge Retreat was the perfect getaway for my partner and myself for a couple of days.

The cabin boasts the most incredible views, and is equipped with everything you’d expect and then much, much more.

The host Rebecca made sure we felt special and welcome, and we definitely did!

Rebecca also organised a day tour for us and we visited the Yarra Valley surrounds, tasted the delicious local produce and wines, and ended with us visiting a lot of cute kangaroos!! We had a fantastic time photographing the kangaroos.

All in all, the perfect getaway to relax, that has everything provided for you :)

Stunning cabin that was the perfect place for our wedding night. Beautifully decorated with lights and flowers that matched our wedding colours. The crew at kangaroo ridge was amazing, especially Rebecca. The views are one of a kind and we enjoyed every bit of it.

Highly recommended for anyone seeking a romantic and secluded break away from responsibilities. The Ridge took care of all the necessities, and the in house massage service was an excellent added indulgence for our anniversary. We did have to share the BBQ with a lovely lady spider who was hiding from the rain- so I would advise travelers that aren't familiar with Australian wildlife that Huntsman are Friends! They eat the dangerous spiders- so seeing such a big protective spider was actually quite comforting!

We booked with Kangaroo Ridge Retreat to have a relaxed, no fuss, weekend. Any expectations that we had were blown away! This was an absolutely fantastic experience and one that we did not want to end.
Everything had been thought of and catered for, from the excellent communication prior to our arrival to the notes throughout the cabin making navigating the products that much easier.
The range of food and wines within the cabin were amazing, all with a tasting note and explanation so you knew what you were getting into.
Loved the range of locally sourced items, allowing us to experience more of what the Yarra Valley had to offer.
The view - both during the day and star gazing at night - breath-taking. Sitting in the spa or relaxing on the balcony, there was always a vista to admire.
If you are looking for the most relaxing and indulgent weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the world then book this place, its incredible.

My partner and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday. He wanted a relaxing weekend away & that is exactly what he got! The views are amazing, the bbq pack and wine was delicious, the bed comfortable, the wood fire heater made it so cozy. We can't wait till we return.

Rebecca and the team at Kangaroo Ridge have an incredible thing going here. My partner and I received a voucher to stay as a gift and were not disappointed. From the beginning to end we had a seamless and relaxing stay - they really have thought of everything. Gorgeous, secluded location with stunning views, all the amenities you could need and the larder was wonderful! We hadn't intended to purchase much but couldn't resist the wine and local food items that were on offer. Rebecca responded to my questions promptly and we felt very well taken care of.

We spent 4 nights here recently and are still talking about how wonderful it was! The location, the comfort of the cabins, the outstanding and personal service plus all the little extras. It was a 10 out of 10 experience. Definitely get the dinner packs, the produce is incredible and delicious and you will have plenty of leftovers too! If we are ever in this area again we will for sure be staying with Kangaroo Ridge Retreat 😀

What a sensational weekend! Kangaroo Ridge Retreat is a very special place. We felt so relaxed ~ looking out into the beautiful valley from the balcony, bath or bed. Plenty of wood to keep you toasty of an evening & a cute array of records to listen to. And wow, the wine selection, gorgeous to see Rebecca & co supporting local businesses! I couldn't recommend Kangaroo Ridge more highly. The communication on arrival (and before, and after!) was excellent, and meant that we had a really good idea what to expect from our stay. My partner and I loved the views, the serenity and the wildlife. It's perfect for a romantic getaway as the fridge & wine cellar is well stocked (and at very respectable prices), which means that you can tour Healesville & surrounds without ever leaving your room. The cabin was perfectly clean, tidy, and well provisioned (including bathroom products etc.), and with so many thoughtful extras and finishing touches - it's clear lots of work has gone into making the experience truly special. Thanks team for the brilliant mini-break!

My wife and I spent two nights here and it was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Australia along with Craig’s wine tour. Rebecca has great communication from booking to check out. The cabin is very cozy and she has thought of everything. It’s the little details and small touches that put this over the top along with the view. Food and drinks were great!

Firstly, I want to say a great thank you to Rebecca and team for such a wonderful experience I had at Kangaroo Ridge Retreat! Sorry it took awhile for me to write this review. Rebecca had been such a great host, super responsive and gave great pointers for us even before our actual stay at the retreat.

My partner and I wanted something different and away from the city. And we both agreed that the stay we had here was PERFECT! Waking up to such lovely view in the morning, being in the nature. Not to forget, the sky full of stars at night.

I’m so so glad that my partner found this place for our holiday and this definitely will not be our last time back to Kangaroo Ridge. We can’t wait to be back again! Thank you once again for the amazing stay!

We booked a 2 night stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and it exceeded our expectations.
First, the communication before, during & after the booking is excellent. We loved the beautiful touches in the rooms and appreciated the open fire and split system on the chilly nights. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the wine choice was vast.
The view is sublime! Whether sitting on the deck or in the spa, or just looking out the window, the beauty and magnificence of the Yarra Valley is on full display. We saw so many birds, king parrots came up on the deck and deers walked through the bush past our windows.
We never wanted to leave and will definitely be back. The serenity, the service, the food and the view - together they provided the perfect way to celebrate 30 years of marriage.

Went here for a mini moon just After our wedding and had the best time! Rebecca is a super passionate small business owner that promotes local ingredients via the pantry system and other businesses.
Our experience was one of a kind and magical.
The masseuses were top notch, our private chef was amazing and the wine pairings were perfectly thought out!

Kangaroo Ridge Retreat is simply amazing. Words cannot do it justice, it must be experienced.
I had very high expectations after looking at photos for weeks and reading many reviews but our stay exceeded those expectations and more.
We are not people to spend much time where we stay as we love to explore and visit restaurants and wineries but we found ourselves wanting to spend as much time as possible on our balcony or inside the cabin.
It is also great for all seasons as when the temperature dropped at night, we simply moved from the picturesque views to the indoor fireplace which provided just as much relaxation.
We were so absorbed by the views and the relaxed cabin that we did not even think about turning the TV on. In fact, we actually unplugged it so we could charge the speakers to continue to listen to the playlists that Kangaroo Ridge Retreat had provided.
The additional extras such as the breakfast hamper, pasta night and BBQ pack are so amazing. They were all delicious and mean that you can do things at your own pace.
The larder is also incredible. It made us feel like we had Yarra Valley at our finger tips. The quality of the product was excellent and all at really affordable prices.
Equally as great as the venue itself is the service and communication from Rebecca who made our stay so perfect. She was so great to deal with and went above and beyond to make our stay, the best weekend we have had.
There is no greater compliment than wishing we were still there!
We will definitely be back and can't wait to relive the Kangaroo Ridge Retreat experience.

I am the type of person who researches everything - a lot - and this place exceeded my expectations. From the website, the detailed info received after booking and before check-in, to the numerous teas and wines in the larder - the attention to detail that Rebecca puts in is amazing. The fresh produce, the BBQ pack and OMG, the view. This is my new favorite place and I cant stop talking about it. Best romantic weekend.

I stayed here for two nights with my partner at the end of February for my birthday, and it was more than an amazing experience. Organising a stay here is easy. Rebecca communicates very well, and is responsive to messages and calls.

We booked the Fly First Class package online and it was jam packed with lots of activities. Our package started with a helicopter flight from Essendon airport to a private drive from drop-off location from landing strip to accommodation which we stayed for 2 nights. We watched the sunset with a bottle bubbles on the first night, and a full day private winery tour was organised on the second day. We were provided with a breakfast basket filled with eggs, bread, veggies, jams and butters, tea, coffee and juice, and much more for both mornings. For dinner we had a BBQ basket on the first night and Italian pasta on the second, both filled with everything you need to cook ourselves in the kitchen. On top of all the activities in the package, we had a private driver on the morning of the third day to drop us off back to Melbourne. Did I mention we also got complimentary Kangaroo Ridge Retreat pyjamas each!

The Cabin itself has a fully functioning kitchen, a fireplace, outdoor BBQ, TV, selection of board games and even a spa. It’s super comfortable, homely and you can appreciate all the little details in the cabin. But the best part was the view from the deck, it is spectacular! You can watch the sunrise overlooking the Yarra Valley early in the morning that was breathtaking.
I can’t recommend Kangaroo Ridge Retreat enough and will definitely come back whenever we stay in the Yarra Valley region again.

My wife and i spent the last 2 nights here straight after our wedding, everything was absolutely perfect, from the arrival lights, sparkling rose, the lit fire place and the platter waiting for us. We arrived late at night so we didn't get to see the full views that this place had to offer, but what an incredible view to wake up to.

This place was the perfect size for a stay for a couple. it has everything you need plus more, the attention to detail is what really makes this place special. Rebecca helped up right from the start right up until the end.

The larder was fully stocked with so many options at reasonable prices, the breakfast was beautiful and the BBQ platter at night was absolutely mouth watering.

We will absolutely be recommending this place to everyone and getting back here as soon as we can! Its a place that no matter the weather it will be perfect, summer nights on the balcony with the stars or winter nights around the fire, this has it all.

The best, EVER! This amazing getaway blew our expectations out of the water. I originally was tossing up between this place and another one, but when I saw that no dates were available for my stay I emailed Rebecca and got an INSTANT reply giving me other options. This communication and positivity was the reason I decided to go ahead with KR.

Once we arrived at the home, we knew EXACTLY how to get in due to the amazing communication throughout the week prior.

Everything in the home was perfect, everything was labeled with extra charges CLEARLY stated. We opened to door to the most amazing view, and a BBQ and breakfast hamper full of LOCAL products that made it feel like we were truly in the Yarra Valley.

There was a TV which we decided not to use, instead, we lit the fire and played the games provided, we even put some vinyl jazz music on and just enjoyed our company.

We can't thank you enough for our stay, we will be back 100%!!

We stayed at Kangaroo Ridge Retreat for the weekend and we had the best time! Such a cozy and beautiful cabin with the most amazing views to the Yarra valley. It’s secluded, peaceful yet close to Healesville. Rebecca provides everything you need and she is a great host. We highly recommend it!
