Absolutely beautiful! A wonderful experience near must-see places in the Yarra. There are different routes to suit the amount of time/distance you want to walk. The 1km route has a great track to follow, making it more accessible. Bring your own water and food, and just beat in mind it's a little drive to a decent bathroom!

We went on the 2hr Wirrawilla Walk loop in early Jan 2024. Absolutely stunning walk with more tree ferns than I have ever seen. it's not an over difficult walk but take plenty of water and some snacks. Unfortunately if it's wet or has rained just make sure you spray yourself with plenty of 40% DET tropical strength bug spray as this place is leech city when it's wet. We were flicking leeches off our legs and shoes every 2 - 3 mins.

Fantastic experience loved it, we've been there a few times it's never disappointed.

It's got a drop toilet and picnic hut, UNFORTUNATELY NO BBQ so remember to bring lunch before going on the walk.

Gentle easy walk it's a circuit walk, actually it's got a couple of walks to choose from but we've only done the rainforest loop, bonus your able to take your fur child as well and they'll love it plenty scents to take in.

We've liked going in the late of the day as it's proven to be less people a more personal experience and a lot prettier with lighting and temperature, very easy drive in remember if going in the later part of the day to be mindful of wildlife.

Beautiful, lush and green, among the ferns and next to the gully. Wheelchair accessible.

I came upon this walk unexpectedly while driving through the hills around Healesville. I was so pleased that I decided to see it. It's not a long walk, however, it's a wonderful experience that feels quite magical. The boardwalk is sturdy and wide - big enough for families to safely visit. It takes you in a loop on a meandering path over forest streams, into the deep shadows under tall tree ferns, and with the canopy of even taller forest trees high above. The forest streams and rivulets were in full flow when I visited in May. There are information signs as well, giving details about the species of plants and the rainforest ecosystem. It was also great to be able to see all of this after heavy rains, without getting my feet wet or muddy!

We loved our time at Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk! Our 2.5 year old and 3.5 year old were able to walk (pretty much) the whole trail. It's a nice easy walk for adults with some amazing flora (for fans of ferns like me haha)!

The air is soooo crisp and rejuventaing!

Car park was full but not crazy at 12pm on a Sunday. We had a picnic at one of 2 picnic tables and then spent the afternoon at Healesville Sanctuary.

This place is pretty magical and very accessible with a well maintained board walk around the most popular walk. The sign said 45 mins but it felt a lot quicker. If you stop and read the signs and take your time, it may take closer to 45 mins. Came on a public holiday and there were quite a few people (hard to park down the road) but wasn't packed / over crowded. Great that it is dog friendly - on leash only. We also explored a bit of the Myrtle Gully Track which was more what you'd expect from a trial (no board walk, more inclines), but less scenic than the Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk which was along the creek. Careful of leeches! I found 3 small ones on me.

Magic beauty of nature. Rainforest, babbling brooks, tree ferns, moss, ancient and giant ash trees and all accessible by board walk. And then great forest trails through the mountain ash for runs, hikes and bikes.

Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk is an exceptional place that offers a serene escape into nature's lush embrace. As soon as you step onto the trail, you're enveloped by a canopy of greenery, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

Walking through the rainforest, you can't help but feel like you're listening to the voice of nature itself. The sound of birds chirping, leaves rustling in the breeze, and the gentle flow of streams all come together to create a truly immersive experience.

One of the standout features of Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk is its accessibility. Despite being tucked away in nature, it's easily accessible and perfect for a quick getaway. The circuit takes only about 15 minutes to complete, despite the board suggesting a longer duration, making it a great spot if you're passing by or short on time.

While there may not be much else to visit nearby, Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk more than makes up for it with its natural beauty and tranquility. Whether you're looking for a brief escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life or simply want to reconnect with nature, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit.

So glad we took time out for this little gem.

The weather forecast was 32 degree but the forest was a cool and comfortable 20 degree. We went early for as a morning walk and benefited from having the wonderful scenery to ourselves. The drive there is bumpy from the gravel road so go slow and embrace the view.

Once we arrived, there was a designated parking area. The circuit was well maintained, clean, with boardwalk and a seating area. The scenery was surreal as it offers beautiful lush green trees, ferns, and a flowing stream. Along the path there are plaques where you can read about the biodiversity of the rainforest.

We walked around the trail a few times as we loved the smell of fresh air, the sound of flowing water, gental breeze with falling leaves, and picturesque scenery.

Not far from main road. No need for 4wd to reach here. Well maintained platform for rainforest viewing. Car park space available. Small area with roof to snack, No bbq area. Can complete the shortest circuit within an hour. Recommended for families with small kids as well.

Peaceful short boardwalk, they have finished upgrading the boardwalk as this walk was blocked off last time we went there. Suitable for prams and wheelchairs. There are junction points where there are wider platforms to rest and absorb the lovely quiet atmosphere and the sound of the running water from the creek. Popular with families and small children so you'll have to pick your quiet moments!

We did the short walk, which was probably a bit shorter than I expected, but it was soo lovely there. All the dappled sunlight coming through the ferns, and a little steam flowing beside us. Parking is a bit tricky at busy times, but definitely recommend.

Cool, calm short rainforest walk on raised boardwalk with running water, other longer trails are available. There is a picnic table next to the car park.
Toilet was locked (1/1/22).
Access is via unsealed road in decent condition.

Beautiful fern-filled rainforest that stays nice and cool even on hot days. The boardwalk allows everyone to enjoy the serenity of the place. A gurgling brook runs through the forest, and a lucky girl told us she spotted a platypus by the water. Hope we have better luck next time!
