Great place to visit for a day trip for a short walk in the forest. It was a hot day when we visited, but in the forest it was cool, comfortable and totally refreshing. Well maintained pathways and a thriving ecosystem with vibrant array of ferns and trees that are really old. Parking lot does get full on great days. Highly recommended to get there early if possible.

One of the best camping trips ever! Beautiful nature, with flushable toilets

Hidden gem, some of the wooden sculptures are slowly falling apart, which is probably the point, and that doesn’t detract from the overall beauty of the area.

If you’re after a quiet and peaceful place to walk amongst the trees and reconnect with nature you might want to check this out.

Stunning forest. Well worth a visit! Some steep hills but the climb is worth it. Soft ground - great for walking. So peaceful and serene.

Beautiful place. The sculpture walk is lovely even though some of the displays are no longer there. Lots of spiders, so fair warning for those arachnophobes.

Enlightening and inspiring experience. It was very peaceful and i became informed of the devastating work of vic forests; they log close to century old trees just to make flimsy paper, when they could use a much more sustainable option of pine.

Logging native forest only brings $12 million annually to the economy compared to $260 million annually brought in by tourism.
The deforestation destroys the habitat of leadbeater's possum and owls. It is definitely not worth it.
This beautiful place shouldn't be wasted. It feels like home to me but it is literally home to so many beautiful species that are not found anywhere else in the world. The services the possums and owls provide for their ecosystem is irreplaceable. The forest is not just used for a Sunday hike or taking nice photos. It is so much more than that. The trees suck carbon out of the atmosphere, purifying air and providing the cleanest water I have ever drank. This place is so beautiful and should be protected at all costs.

It was a nice, sunny, cool to warm Monday with no one else around. So peaceful and serene. Nature at Melbourne's doorstep.

Looks like a really old forest. Very peaceful, fresh and cool. Highly recommended.

It’s under threat by loggers as well. Which is sad because these types of places are special and rare.

Great so far...the sculpture walk needs some attention, some of that amazing art can't be seen due to major over growth

Did you know our govt is ripping down this forest of mountain ash every year! Kms of old growth forest gone for Reflex office paper. Found this out today. Devastated. Vic Govt what the hell are you doing? Stop this before it's too late. Leadbeaters Possum home being destroyed. Lyrebirds. Powerful owls. All bcz $$$ is more important.

Very cool and awesome spot for camping. Specifically to get away from sun shine in the summer.

This part of the world should be preserved at all costs! It should be left untouched for future generations to experience the full beauty of mother nature. The Tanglefoot Loop walk just north of the St Leonards fire tower is a gently undulating walk through thick pristine temperate rain forest where many large mountain ash can be seen as well as streams, ferns, king parrots etc. It must be like going back in time. Some raised walkways and benches along the way. There is a long and a short loop. Upwards of 3 hours all up. Enjoy.

Incredibly diverse range of walks, and four wheel driving tracks here. There are the super easy tracks which won't do any damage even to a Toyota Prado right up to some quite difficult tracks which even highly modified Patrols will have some difficulty tackling. Some tracks which can be a little difficult depending on weather are; The Steps, Reds East/West, Not Much Help, Luke's Creek No. 2, Downies Spur Track, and a few other unnamed tracks. If you love four wheel driving then you'll love Toolangi.

I had a business in Healesville years ago. Toolangi is just 5 min away. Its absolutely beautiful. Summer time, if bush walking beware of brown snake. Seen them a few times.
