Nepean River Parkrun

One of the best Parkrun in western Sydney. Friendly volunteers and great riverside running track makes this Parkrun - a must visit park run in sydney.

Course is mostly flat and there is every chance that you might hit your personal best!

It's also quite accessible, with ample parking facilities and nearby amenities, making it convenient for a day trip.

However, the run could benefit from better maintenance in some areas and perhaps more shaded spots for those hot summer days. Overall, the Nepean River Run at Penrith is a wonderful locale that serves as both a runner's paradise and a nature lover's haven.

The course starts on the grass next to the playground near the boat ramp parking lot at Tench Reserve.
The course enters the bottom path before veering right, up the new path that connects the bottom and top paths. Turns left at the top path and continue on the path until a marshal directs participants to veer left onto a grass/cross country, clockwise loop. After completing the loop, the course re-enters the path going the opposite direction, continuing back towards the start and follows the path until reaching a bollard. The bollard marks the turnaround point where the course takes a 180 degree turn and then completes a second loop before heading back to the start/finish line.

Nice flat course, pleasant scenery. Quite popular with non-parkrunners so some stop/go required.

What a mess. Used to be a nice place for a quiet morning walk which is what it is supposed to be, old people now live in fear coming here. My brother visited recently, so we thought we'd go for a walk along the river. WRONG. The track now Totally taken over by hordes of people. We could not even walk on the track because of Hundreds of pounding joggers everywhere. Most of my friends Nooo Longer walk here because of this. TOO MANY B.... PEOPLE. This happens almost every day of the week. must be great for the shops with all these smelly, sweaty people dripping sweat over furnature, YUK.
