Having lived in Australia for 9 years, I can confidently say that this restaurant sets the bar high in terms of both food quality, ambiance, and entertainment. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a welcoming atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. The food is consistently excellent, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and freshness. Whether you're craving something comforting or adventurous, their menu offers a delightful range of options to satisfy any palate. Made a reservation 2 months in advance for a celebratory lunch and it was so worth it!! Dimly lit corners with a smooth jazz band transports you into an era where the ambience whispers of 1920’s speakeasies. Incredibly sophisticated setting, staff, band and great food promises an unforgettable experience.

This is my favorite French restaurant. I absolutely love all their dishes. Every visit, I order two servings of the escargot, and their pâté is out of this world. I appreciate the live band that entertains the audience. The ambiance and atmosphere are delightful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as it has never failed to please my taste buds.

A must visit restaurant and bar in Sydney. The vibe is incredible and our group of 5 were lucky to get the corner room. We came just in time for happy hour and I think I've discovered the best burger I've had so far. It's hard to describe with my limited vocabulary but suffice to say it's worth $48, so let alone $18 during happy hour. It's simple yet it's just a quality cheeseburger because if it's ingredients. Look for Normandy burger on your next visit. It's supplied with a single quarter cut pickle. Order fries separately. Two orders of fries were enough for 5 people. Drinks were well made and they can cater for most requests. Looking forward to coming back!

Such a unique and wonderful experience! Front the entrance of all the wonderful collection of mini spirits and quirky artwork. Arriving down to the den of the restaurant we were greeted by a live jazz band and friendly staff. The food and drinks were exceptional, we were stuffed to our eyeballs but it a good way! Would highly recommend and would 100% come back! Thank you to the team at Restaurant Hubert!

We came to Hubert’s for post-graduation drinks and dinner. The atmosphere is amazing, music very inviting and fun- but the main thing that stuck out was the service. We were lucky enough to have Louise as our server, and I thank god everyday we did. We were met with the kindest, and most helpful waitress I’ve ever had. She was kind enough to recommend some drinks- the whiskey apple was amazing! But overall I would definitely come back, especially if Louise is our server. The happy hour is also great- but the regular prices are justified by the quality of the food and drinks. Would come back! :)

Hubert- heard so many reviews and hype on this. After trying multiple times to book in finally, i got a spot in.

Let me tell you, the photos don’t do justice. The hype don’t either. You just have to come and experience everything for yourself.

The food, drinks, atmosphere and service are all excellent!
Well here’s some photos of what we ordered and specifically we love the duck, pate, kimchi gratin but everything else is excellent. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Oh did i tell you they have extensive whiskies and wine selections as well?

Fantastic experience!
The caviar,snails, tartare and lobster where top notch. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in Australia.
The manager and the staff were super friendly and the jazz live music in the background made our long lunch very special.

I was at Hubert celebrating my birthday a few years ago and I loved the vibe at this restaurant. I just returned to this restaurant a month ago and the food/service was impeccable. Escargot XO was beautiful, the steak was perfectly cooked. Staff was attentive, filling up my water and made recommendations of the special of the day. They had live jazz music playing in the background. I just enjoyed the meal and the ambience so much. I dont give out 5 stars easily and Hubert so deserves it.

There’s nothing to be said about Hubert that hasn’t been said before but regardless it’s a great experience for an evening out. Located in the basement its lighting sets the mood for an intimate affair. The jazz band plays every other hour and is great dinner entertainment. The staff are attentive and professional, quick with serving drinks and great with recommendations! The food hits on many levels and doesn’t miss

Love the vibe and atmosphere at Hubert. It's cosy and romantic, perfect for all special occasions. The waiter that was helping us that night was very friendly and the food was lovely. Great experience overall.

Favourite restaurant in Sydney!

The atmosphere is absolutely incredible. Amazing food and phenomenal wine list.

We have been 4 times over the past 2 years and they seem to get better with each visit.

We typically order the chateaubriand as it is one of the most perfectly cooked and tender bites of beef we have ever had. It was not on the menu for this visit so we ended up ordering the cote de boeuf and sirloin. Both were absolutely beautiful. The cote de boeuf comes with a great Bernaise sauce but it seems criminal to put anything on a steak that delicious.

The prime beef tartare is a must order. The kimchi gratin and the pommes Anna are also must haves if you like potato of any kind.

The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful when looking for suggestions on wine to pair with your meals.

Also, the live jazz puts this place over the top. It creates what is our favourite dining experience in Australia!

This was my second visit to Hubert and despite the crowd, it was still an exceptional experience just as I remember. The menu had a few changes since my last visit but the quality remain too-notch. Additionally, the live jazz music in the background created a great ambiance.

Open till late and accompanied with live music in an underground setting, Hubert provides a unique dining experience in the heart of Sydney CBD. It was my first time so I had zero expectations. 2 of us came in off the back of another event for supper. Had the burger, fries and beef tartare. Overall I had a good time, sitting facing the stage entertained.

The jazz trio was amazing all evening, grand piano, bassist + singer, and drums. The atmosphere is 50s speak easy with a dimly lit vibe, and stick candles on each table. Staff was super friendly; cocktails were perfect, and the food was delicious! We started with the Gruyère soufflé that melted in your mouth, I had the beef bourguignon, and my partner had the cod. She said it may be the best cod she’s ever had. The beef fell apart off the fork, and had a deep succulent flavor. We included a side of potatoes, which were very unique and also delicious. Followed by the crème caramel, with coffee (which surprising wasn’t very good… but with everything else amazing, I’ll skip coffee next time). 🥰🤷‍♂

Walked in to Hubert's for dinner as a solo traveller and thought I would be out of place in my beach shirt, but the restaurant manager and staff made me feel at ease, chatting frequently with me.

Dinner was delicious--I ordered the duck parfait, sirloin steak and apple and miso tarte tatin. All dishes were exceptional. My fave was the flavourful duck parfait with Hubert bread and butter. The atmosphere is uniquely theirs and lit up by candlelight. A must-visit to experience Sydney's warm hospitality and delicious cuisine in the city. Nearest metro station: Martin Place.

Fantastic food and service in the underground jazz bar. A great place for dates as well as big groups. Loved their chicken and xo sauce escargot.

Hubert was a great night out, the food was on point, the atmosphere was great, the live jazz was a nice added touch. The service was perfect!

It is unusual that a restaurant has it all perfected. Usually there is at least one thing that goes wrong… not here! OUTSTANDING! The live band, ambience, food and service was like an orchestra. Just incredible! My birthday dinner couldn’t have been better! Thank you a million to the band and the lovely waitress who was attending our table on the 6/01. Excellent excellent job! Coming back again and again for sure!
