For really personal hardware service you cannot beat this company. The staff are obliging, know their business and products extremely well, and with competitive pricing why waste your time running up and down the aisles in stores like Bunnings only to find the staff don't know their products or just can't be bothered. Stores such as Stockwell are fast disappearing from the hardware landscape. By supporting them we are keeping this type of unique hardware environment alive and well!

One of the rapidly disappearing, old style hardware. As a DIYer, trying to renovate our whole house, they have often had good advice, great product knowledge, and are happy to order in all the supplies I have needed that they did not have in stock.
A smaller range, they don't have the knicknacks that Bunnings does, but they definitely have the know how and advice for anything structural.

Went to Bunnings to get a 90x75x1.2m timber pole but they didn't have it. So I decided to check out Stockwell's after my neighbour recommended them.

All the timber I needed was in stock and they cut it to the lengths I needed - I didn't need to buy metres and metres of timber just to get the smaller pole I needed.

The shop is open to the public and tradesmen. It has timber, building materials and a smaller section of general hardware (e.g. screws, nails, building components).

I would recommend Stockwell's for timber. Their prices are reasonable.
