If great coffee and excellent toasty's are your thing, then this is the place. Cheerful service and a dog friendly comfortable environment. I had a Long Black and a Reuben, didn't have to wait too long, Reuben was nice but a bit bland, coffee excellent.

Don’t be fooled by the external facade of this place.
Yep, it’s minimalist outside and in but kinda trendy and charming.
The staff are super friendly and TBH, I can understand why this came up when I searched google for “Ballarat best toasties” after hoeing into my Rueben.
It was extra toasty and very, very tasty.

Really fresh, high-quality sandwiches that hit it out of the park every time. Really filling. Like Maccas but so much better

I came in for a quick bite and decided to treat myself to a borough three cheese toastie.....queue the foodgasm! Sooo good, I came back for seconds 😁 aside from this, their selection is vast and I will definitely try other options (the hoagie intrigues me) and I might dine in, the vibe is relaxed and the service was warm and friendly.
I just found a new favourite place!

Hidden away amongst retail shops you will find This little cafe on a corner street. The interior design is modern and comfortable for those brunch dates or a good take away option if you want to grab something quick and easy during your morning or afternoon coffee break. Hūsker Dū Cafe offers a good coffee blend. Therefore, a must try for coffee lovers out there. The sandwiches are absolutely divine offering them on a large size sourdough bread with the perfect amount of cheese and or ham. I was plesently pleased after having my coffee and melted cheese and will definitely be back :)

Another great Ballarat eatery. Had the Katsu Eggplant Sanga, which was delicious. Such a good idea. All the sandwiches looked top notch served by welcoming happy staff. Well done to all involved.

THE COFFEE!!! 😍

I could sum up the review with that alone, but there's more to enjoy about this nifty little cafe...they also make sensational toasties! There's some great looking cakes too 👌🏻

The design of the seating / layout / decor inside is pretty simple but effective and is quite pleasant. Great staff complement the atmosphere too. Absolutely worth a visit.

Easy access and plenty of parking nearby too.

My first visit today, for a Short Black Double Shot. It tasted great & had a generous crema. The barista/ customer service person was friendly, & neatly presented...and she made a terrific brew! Worth a visit.

I had left my lunch at home. Cabbage and potato with a hint of sausage, lightly salted. It had been I while since I had treated myself, and you’re really treating yourself when you’re paying $16+ dollerydoos for a sandwich. Rather than returning home to collect my lunch I decided that today was the day I would treat myself with one of Shepp Street’s ludicrously priced sandwiches.

It is well known that this establishment crafts some of the finest sandwiches. On this particular occasion I took out a loan from cash converters to purchase the fabled Chicken Katsu sandwich, also known as the Katsu chicken sandwich/ カツチキンサンド.

Interestingly the choice of bread was not the typical sourdough offered at other establishments. Shepps opted for a large hunk of rustic white bread. This complimented the Katsu well. The Katsu itself was finely crumbed and fried. The batter was immensely light. Biting into it you would think you were biting through air if not for the fine melodic crunch. I’ve never submitted my cochlear to such a pleasant crunching sound. The chicken in the inside was masterfully cooked, not dry or super oily. This is the cut, the very premium cut. The sandwich was completed with the addition of iceberg lettuce. Shredded and dressed with some kind of light mayonnaise

Jamming this sando down my gob was an enlightening experience. Truly a work of art. This single purchase cemented the fact that I will never be able to afford my own home but it was worth it for the 10 minutes of pleasure it was eating. I also ordered a coffee which pretty decent.

Best coffee in Ballarat easy. Cups are small. I like a big cup. Can't knock the strength and flavour though.

Great coffee, some of the best in Ballarat imo. Toasted sandwiches are outstanding!
