Insanely good. The pork banh mi was treated like a gourmet dish rather than a quick cheap street food. A sourdough baguette ffs. Presentation and flavour absolutely outstanding. I also tried a slice of bread and butter pudding - superb.

Finally open, and worth the wait. I feel you can normally judge a cafe by their coffee, and their coffee is very good. I was pleased to see there were vegetarian options available. It's their first week and they've hit the ground running. Lots of staff and all tables full. I expect this place will be busy every weekend. Better than any of its peers - east of Peel st. Worth crossing town for. I'll be a regular, for sure. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed. It's how a cafe should be.

My brunch Smoked trout on Sourdough was fantastic. The building, the backyard and tables all beautiful and Squeaky clean.

What a lovely little place, we had two delicious toasted sandwiches with fantastic ingredients and one was Gluten Free, coffee was top notch. Plus a glass of wine for $5.00 was great!!!

A cafe with a name that could easily be mistaken as a laundry service, Clothesline Cafe had gone under new ownership. However, they still provided sheer high-quality food they are always known for. With a new menu, and new decors, this place is absolutely buzzing, especially on a Ballarat Sunday Morning. Once you enter, you'll be amazed with the vast of artwork being displayed around the cafe, which somewhat resembles an art gallery. After we gazed at the menu meticulously, our love for bread was so strong we ordered the following dishes:
1. CRISPY PORK BANH MI - Their take on the Vietnamese classic. This time in a sourdough baguette. You'll be amazed with the amount of pork we were given to the point, I thought I was eating Pumbaa 😅. To counteract the juicy fatty pork, were some picked veges, creamy hoisin mayo and some sriracha for that little karate kick spice to heat up the palate.
2. TOFU BANH MI - For the vegans, yes you can finally get some vegan Banh Mi's in Ballarat. A resemblance to the Pork but with tofu. Clothesline can do Banh Mis to cater anyone 😋
3. KOREAN CHICKEN BURGER - 🍔 Their take on the popular trend. Lightly coated fried chicken with their sweet chilli sauce and some salad to reduce the guilt. A little bit sweet for my liking but still a very pleasant burger to feast on.
Despite the change in ownership, these guys see eye to eye with the precious owner, and that is to serve delicious food. The menu is fairly extensive, and the ability for them to provide beautiful Asian flavours to their menu is something to be commended for. Whether your dining outdoors or indoors, you'll definitely enjoy the atmosphere of this cafe, and the quality of their food will give you a unique

Lovely round the corner cafe, very friendly staff and some good menu options. They have a convenient takeaway window and a nice outdoor area so furbabies most welcome. Well designed ramp for patrons with accessibility concerns. Will be back!

Another great cafe in Ballarat, lovely on all levels, friendly service, pleasing decor and good coffee. Also an exhibition by Bekki, well worth seeing and just makes the experience even better.

One word: incredible! The food is next level here. The menu is unique, and the flavour profiles of the dishes are amazing. I had the smoked trout. Delicious! Loved the addition of wakame.

This will become a regular brunch spot for me.

Don't ever sell out by adding a smashed avocado. 😉

As an operator of a cafe in Melbourne, I’m pretty fussy with dining experiences, but Clothes Line delivered in spades.. great coffee, lovely balance of country warmth & professionalism, interesting menu that deviates from the standard offerings, but does so successfully. Highly recommend a visit.

Very nice and they do a dairy free dirty chai! Its actually hard to find. They use grounded pleasures which is nice to see supporting local. Food was great! Eggs perfect and they do a gluten free option. The only problem was we sat at a booth and the cold air was gushing in from somewhere outside thought the bottom/back of our seat? I'd asked for a rug but they didn't have one, it was crazy cold but other than that would happily go back there for another chai 👍🏽

Best ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich I have ever had ! Great service and even left a lovely message on the takeaway box. Been such a long time since I have seen such high quality food and service in a cafe anywhere in the country. I just had to give this place the praise it deserves. Keep up the great work !

Excellent coffee & hot chocolate and a delicious almond croissant!! Good place to stop in and relax
