Head down to Kosaten for sushi and authentic Japanese food - fresh sashimi, food delivered to your table was quick, and every plate we ordered were served up so beautifully. Our favourite is the lamb cutlets and soft shell crab. Oh so yummy.

Was excited for the kaiten-sushi, didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with the fantastic tablet menu interface, with multiple ways to display and order the dishes.

Food was fantastic as well, our highlights were the anago nigiri, pork belly nigiri, kingfish sashimi, boysenberry panna cotta, matcha tiramisu

Less spectacular was the very thin slices of not the best quality mixed sashimi, relegated to a side dish in the menu.

Overall, a fantastic first dining experience in Hobart and at the time this was written my favorite restaurant in Tasmania.

Visited this place for the first time for Sunday afternoon lunch. Good food, good desserts.. (don't have a chance to take pictures of all the dishes we ordered - I will surely come back and will take more pictures!).

The only thing I don't like from this place is the ambiance.. it is a bit too dark (at least for me), but again, it's just a matter of preference. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place for someone who is craving for Japanese food.

The only thing that makes the delicious food here even better is that it's delivered via a high speed train straight to your table. It's expensive but totally worth it!

Lovely selection of nigiri, rolls and specials - the kosaten grilled lamb cutlets were super juicy and the famous volcano sushi roll had some lovely textures and a light sweet chili kick. The restaurant is cosy, with 8 tables of 4, 3 tables of 2 and an open seating area for 6. Definitely worth booking prior to coming. The mini train that brings you your food is a nice special treat for those who haven’t experienced it before.

Such a cool experience! The location is really nice! Not right in the heart of town but close enough! Plenty of parking that’s also cheaper than the rest of Salamanca! The food was delicious and tasted really fresh and good quality! The presentation and the venues looks where awesome! Absolutely loved it here! Will be returning at some stage!

We came down from Sydney and we were recommended this restaurant by some friends. Totally awesome. Meals delivered by mag-lev type conveyor (no risk of injury) to table great fun and quick. We have had a lot of Japanese food, this was great, we will go again before we go home.

Nice japanese restaurant using an actual sushi train to deliver the food to you. Food was pretty good, though not as cheap as a standard sushi train place.

I love this place. They do excellent food with reasonable price. I like the idea how they serve your order with a train that come directly to your table. Staffs was friendly and helpful. If you like to go check out this place I would recommend you to try soft-sell Crab, wagyu meat, chicken and prawns rolls.

🌟 6th star 😂
I can easily recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent quality food unique dining experience, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.

My family are usually very picky esp when it comes to the expense of eating out in a restaurant. But they were so impressed they never thought of the cost or hesitated to order more food. Very enjoyable experience for all of us.

Everyone was talking about what they will be trying when they go back again as we left.

Note this place isn't that expensive, some items are but the quality easily makes up for it.

THE best fried chicken I have had this side of Japan! Fast service, excellent sushi and teriyaki chicken. Expect to pay a little more than the chain restaurants, but so good!
Will be going here again!

Easily the best food and restaurant in Tasmania. We come here for every special occasion and it’s perfect every time. Don’t miss out if you’re here on holiday (and get the volcano sushi!)

What a delight, top quality, super fresh sushi and sashimi. A touch more expensive than some of the other Japanese restaurant's around Hobart, but the love and attention to detail on the night I went was easy to see. My three year old baby girl ate en entire mixed Sashimi platter by herself and still got stuck into most other dishes. The Tablet ordering system is easy and dishes came out reasonably quickly. I'll be going back for sure.

Delicious Japanese joint, cosy, fast service and great food. Sometimes the photos look better than the food, but this was the opposite! The food exceeded our expectations and loved the variety. Will definitely come back again.

A different type of sushi train delivery...
Great Japanese beers and some different twists on the usual nigiri and rolls.
Worth the visit.

I'm a Gong gal visiting for lunch.
Barely found the place as no signage but after some warm sakè and great food coming along on a little train..blown away.
Rosita loves it here...will return xx
