The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart

From the moment we checked in until our departure, the service at the hotel was fantastic. The staff really looked after us throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed. We loved the room which was rich with history, adding to our overall experience. The nearby eateries were just a short walk away, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening strolls around the area. Next time, we plan to spend even more time at the hotel to fully savor the charm of this delightful town.

The absolute best place to stay in Hobart. Rooms are large, very modern and quiet. Location incredible as can walk to everything. The food is absolutely divine and high quality produce. The service at check-in, around the hotel and at the restaurants is top notch. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back.

Great service from arrival to departure! We were there for three nights and were treated so well. We ate at the restaurant and the food and wine were delicious. The hotel is within walking distance to the wharf and lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms are super modern with automated shades and lights, and the shower....best shower in a hotel I've ever had! The Tasman is an example of what a truly 5 star rated hotel should be. Keep it up! We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're in Hobart.

What an incredible place! Staff, rooms and location couldn’t be more perfect. When you walk in you are immediately greeted with a friendly smile. Then when you get to your room the curtains open for you when you open the door and the rooms are to die for! The curtains are blackouts as well so it doesn’t matter what time of day, you can sleep in pitch black. Everything is modern and contemporary. Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful experience. Spotless rooms with amazingly helpful staff throughout all 3 days. Consistent, attentive and friendly. The hotel was gorgeous and the facilities were amazing. The attached Deco lounge offers great light meals while the in house restaurant Peppina offers a fantastic elevated 'continental breakfast' experience as well as hearty Italian cuisine options for other meals.

Location is very central to Hobart; right by the water and walking distance to a lot of points of interest. The only mild gripe with the place would be due to it's central location it can be a bit noisy at night. Our room was street facing so it may have been worse but potentially other rooms may be more quiet than ours.

Would recommend and would come back for more.

I went on a solo trip to Tasmania and traveled all over the state, every night it was so great to come back to a clean room! The staff were really lovely!hands down to the valet team to welcome me every time I got back to the hotel and always with a good conversation. Definitely recommend going here to this amazing hotel!

This is an amazing hotel. What makes it truly special, though, is the accommodating staff. They met our every need. We stayed for 5 nights, and the room was large, clean, and impeccable. The food for breakfast and dinner was so good, and is an ideal location to walk Hobart or catch day trips to the wharf. Look no further than the Tasman when staying in Tasmania. Great rooms, food , service, and location!!!!

First time in Hobart and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. All staff are beautiful friendly and welcoming. Service is exceptional. Rooms are very modern and clean. Shout out to the lovely people maintaining our rooms. Beautiful buffet breakfast at Peppina. Ideal location. Thank you for an amazing stay. Will definitely be back with the family. Highly recommend for anyone looking for accommodation to stay here.

This is a great place to stay in Hobart. The city is a bit tricky for first time drivers with lots of one-way streets and it’s easy to miss the hotel. Once you find it, just park in the 15 minute parking outside on the street and the staff will take care of everything for you. Friendly staff, luxurious room, and convenient to both the waterside and the city. The only possible complaint is be prepared for the $45 a day valet parking fee, but for this, you get a very nice gentleman to look after your car and your luggage for you. My suggestion would be just present your credit card, don’t ask questions and don’t look at the bill. Overall, Hobart is a lovely city, this hotel is a great place to stay and I would happily stay there next visit.

Tasman is absolutely fantastic in every way. Great modern rooms, views from the room, nearby amenities, and most importantly, the attentive customer service - who go out of their way to make sure guest's experience is perfect.

Special mention to the reception staff (South Asian/South American gentlemen with glasses) and concierges - who were always smiling and welcoming. Food for breakfast was great (Pistachio Sleepers were amazing), and the service exceptional every day when we went there. The staff would make jokes, make you feel welcomed and very courteous.

I am unsure why the one of the reception staff was in a bad mood (her name was maybe Suju something) - short of just rolling eyes. Potentially because I came after a 3-hour drive and didn't look posh enough for the place.

From the very first moment we pulled up in front of the hotel, to when we approached one of the desks for check-in, until we checked ou, the Tasman team were amazing and their demeaner to us was superb!

We pulled up in our car and we met Taka who offered his help with our luggage and parking our car. We walked into the front office and right away were helped by Joshua who make our stay very memorable. He was extremely friendly, offering us something to drink, checking us in and providing advice on what to see and where to go around town. We got so many great tips and everything we were told was spot on! Joshua was warm and exceptionally nice.We were then brought up to the room by Taka and he also gave some great suggestions for Hobart.

I also mentioned how I wanted a room with a good view facing the bay. On our return to stay a second time at the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised and happy that we got a great room. I also had some cake and champagne served to me for my birthday, which was such a lovely thought! That really made my day.
The next few days, we enjoyed breakfast at Peppina and were helped each day by Louis, the manager of the restaurant. He was lovely too. He cheerfully greeted us whenever we saw him for breakfast and filled in on the history of the restaurant, the hotel, and the area in general. The breakfast at Peppina was simply delicious with an abundance of home-grown produce and was a great place to have breakfast. It was beautifully designed with a lot of natural light coming into the main area. Louis insisted we have Italian for dinner at Peppina. Every morsel of food we had was mouthwatering. Prices were well worth it for food of such quality. We are so glad we gave the place a try!

We also had drinks at Mary Mary and had exceptional service and conversation with the French manager on shift. He made us great cocktails and gave me a list of places to buy certain produce that I asked him about. We came back a few days later to see him, but unfortunately was not on shift earlier at night. As I was recovering from a cold and wanted something fresh and light, I was recommended a great Mocktail Thank you so much!
I think what makes this place are the people who we mentioned. They are such a warm bunch who really want to provide quality service. All in all, every person we met at the hotel was gracious and never hesitated to spend time talking with us and giving us all their attention each time. I have already recommended the restaurant and the place to my friends. We will be sure to return here when we are next time in Hobart. Room Service, Location & overall Service was excellent.

Immaculate service, fantastic food, and very comfortable modern rooms. We stayed here for 6 nights whilst touring around Hobart and Tasmania. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food and service at both the restaurant Peppeni and bar Mary Mary was outstanding. And a nice view from our room, with a short walk to the harbour, markets or city. A truely memorable stay at top location.

Excellent location - just 3-min walk to the Salamanca Market; wonderful breakfast with good coffee; elegant room with comfortable bed. What really impressed me was the lovely hotel staff. All the staff we met at The Tasman were so professional, warm and helpful. They treated us like friends and always greeted us with big smiles. One early morning, I made a call to request for first-aid items. The guest service girl turned up at my room door within 2 mins! Truly amazing service. I will definitely stay here again if I visit Hobart the next time.

What a gem . The best hotel we stayed in for a long time . Room huge, bathroom huge staff professional and helpful, very clean oh and giant bed.
At time of booking we did not realise but breakfast was also included in our room rate and this is a very rare thing these days . 2 min walk to markets and restaurants . The place to stay if you are in Hobart.

We were fortunate enough to stay at The Tasman from December 28th until January 1st and we could not have been happier with our stay.

The hotel itself (the decor, the dining experiences and the location) are second to none, but what we felt set The Tasman apart was the service afforded to us by the wonderful team. We felt welcomed with warmth and familiarity and were very sorry to leave.

We will be recommending The Tasman to our friends and family and will look forward to returning.

Stayed 4 nights at the Tasman Hotel and really enjoyed our time there. The service is impeccable, all the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Had a wonderful stay. Staff is friendly and excellent service. Food is impeccable. There is street parking which is free after 6:00pm. Based on your needs, you can decide on which days to choose valet Parking. Salamanca market is near by and there is a beautiful park near by. Good location. The Tasman uses locally sourced high quality products which ended up being the places where I bought a lot of souvenirs from. Go through the collection they suggest. Definitely worth checking out

Fantastic hotel in an awesome location. The Tasman Hotel is both close to the city and Salamanca. The room was large with a very comfortable bed, nice linens/towels and bathroom amenities.

The staff were all extremely professional and helpful.

Absolutely incredible stay in the centre of Hobart - from the gorgeous room to the lovely staff (shoutout to Maddie who even left a personal note about our bags) we absolutely loved our stay. So incredibly central too, you can walk out right onto the wharf or Salamanca Markets. A beautiful place to spend our anniversary!
