By The Sea Port Douglas

Everything about this place is perfect. Rooms are comfy, well equipped, bright, & airy. AC works well! The staff are so friendly & helpful. They have thought of everything—grill, drying rack, left milk in fridge for coffee, & offer anything you can imagine for the pool or beach. Easy parking & a couple minute walk to the beach or town. Also, I’m a light sleeper & this place was very quiet. Don’t hesitate, book it!

Arriving late and leaving early during my stay, I didn't see anyone at the reception till the morning of my departure. The place is well stocked with everything you can think of both in the room (kitchen items, iron, broom, BBQ grill, even a rubber duckling 🐥 in the shower) and in the common area (bikes, trolley, beach chairs & towels, floaties, icebox, etc.).

Nice view of the 4 mile Beach from the room and literally 1 minute away. You can enjoy your morning walk.

Minutes from the main street full of pubs and cafes.

We enjoyed a fabulous 3-night stay at By The Sea. The service was beyond outstanding. The rooms are definitely 4 star, but clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The included extras made us feel like we were visiting friends. The best value in Port Douglas!

What an amazing place. Budget friendly, location is by the sea. There is plenty of undercover parking. The room was spacious with a kitchen and beautifully cleaned. The staff were bubbly, friendly and helpful. This place also offers a pool and free loan of equipment including bikes and so much more. We will be back

An excellent location for the beach or the town centre. Staff were friendly, helpful and were the best communicators of any location we booked in our 5 weeks in Australia.
Offered lots of handy items and equipment for lots of activities. Gave an excellent recommendation for somewhere to eat (The Tin Shed).

My partner and I stayed at By the Sea Port Douglas for 5 nights. I’ve travelled quite a lot a never experienced accomodation and service like this.

From arriving early and been shown to our rooms, which were very clean, private balcony with BBQ and full kitchen (which I wasn’t expecting) and it was so cheap.

What I didn’t expect was the amount of supplies they had on offer (free of charge), from almost every pool toys, floating animals, to games, prams, beach trolleys, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, esky’s, all beach supplies, bikes etc etc.

Let alone every staff member I interacted with, nothing was a problem and followed thru with such enthusiasm.

Well done a keep up the great work, Girls By the Sea.

We’ll be back.

Through all my traveling I came across some very nice places... By the Sea is without a doubt a winner! Studio with air conditioning, kitchenette and very clean bathroom! All additional and free options stood out! Beach chairs, parasol, fresh beach towels, bicycle, cool box (toys for the children), ice cubes and chilled water, etc. The helpful and friendly staff is the icing on the cake!

THANK YOU once again for the best week in Port Douglas! Honestly the most friendly reception team ever - who are always there to help recommend and book great tours! We love all the awesome equipment - bikes, beach gear and inflatables to use at our leisure. We've had the best stay! Sad to leave, but see you again soon :) Ben and Nicola

When my sister and I arrived in Port Douglas, the lovely ladies at reception told us we had been provided an upgrade. Unsure why, but the room was stunning and had great amenities. There was also a great selection of bits and bobs to borrow (floaties, beach chairs, coolers etc) at reception and a water cooler that I used an unhealthy amount of times to keep myself hydrated. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help my sister and I find things to do while we were in Port Douglas and even helped us look up the beach cam so we knew whether we should take boogie boards or floaties. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while we were there.

I read the reviews before I booked & was pleasantly surprised & could see why it had such rave reviews. It's got everything you could possibly wish for. Location, cleanliness, fantastic staff who cannot do enough for you, quirkiness. It is a haven for kids & adults alike. An arms length from a beautiful beach, shops &;restaurants within easy reach. Thank you from John & myself for our beautiful b'day surprises. It made us feel even more special. My husband turned 95 & doesn't want to stay anywhere else. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Thank you to the ladies from "By the Beach".They treat you like family x

So perfect!!! Me and my dad had an amazing stay! The girls are awesome, very good energy and everything they offer like beach stuff, bikes... it was pretty amazing! Thanks so much , very good hospitality service! :)

We had the best 2 weeks at By the sea.
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and my birthday and on both occasions the girls had left a card and a bottle of sparkling for us.
Nothing was too much trouble and we were always welcomed back from an activity with genuine interest in our day.
Bikes, beach equipment, towels, ice, water and esky’s all for complimentary use.
Would definitely recommend this resort, great location also.

Our stay at By the Sea was exceptional. The rooms were exactly what we needed and as described. They were clean with plenty of storage. The customer service was exceptional, all interactions with staff were friendly and their willingness to help and offer advice was second to none. The location was just perfect so easy to walk to the shops, restaurants and beach. By the Sea offers so many 'little' extras that are included in the price. Some of the 'extras' include bikes and helmets, eskys, beach chairs, umbrellas, picnic baskets, games, pool floats.....the list really does seem endless. If you are looking for affordable, great friendly accommodation in a perfect location, look no further, you have found it at By the Sea. You will not get better customer service anywhere.

Amazing location and the self-contained rooms have everything you need; Fridge, freezer, coffee, cutlery, crockery, good wifi, ice bucket (even unlimited free ice machine at reception). Hire bikes, wheel trolleys for the beach and great source of info for things to do. Highly recommend

Wonderful staff, the ladies are so helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful very well equipped apartment overlooking palm trees and the sea. Definitely will be recommending when we get home. Thankyou to the Wonderful staff

All the amazing staff are so welcoming. The amenities are great. I would highly recommend this place to everyone especially young families. They have so many extras for families to use. Bikes esky coffee machines beach trolley etc etc.

Absolutely loved this place. The staff were amazing in the lead up to organising our trip and also when we were there. We originally had to cancel initial stay due to covid years prior and due to their understanding we promised to book when could travel again with them. So glad we did. Perfect location and So many extras like bikes to use, beach chairs to burrow and customer service was brilliant. We stayed 4 nights here and would reccomend. We also stayed a 2nd week next door at reflections as needed a family apartment and that was lovely too.
We enjoyed our time and the lovely staff at "by the sea" that I can't wait to come back again in 2024. Thankyou Kristen

We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time. 1 min walk to 4 mile beach, and located on main street so all restaurants minutes away from walking. Great stay and service, highly recommended!!

Other hotels should come to this place to see how its done! Fantastic stay at By The Sea, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The reception area has everything you could possibly need to take out for a days excursions to the beach or anywhere. Port Douglas is small enough as a place that you can walk everywhere or borrow their bikes to get around if you need. Fantastic place, thanks very much!
