I was bitten by my pet bunny and firstly I went to the Ochre Health Medicare Urgent Care Clinic. A lady who was the receptionist just told me my situation was not the emergency and I have to go to 'After hours Doctor Hobart'. I was not even allowed to wait and see the nurse and I wasn't treated with anything at the Ochre Health Medicare. However, I went to the 'After Hours Doctor Hobart', the receptionist was a nice and good looking man who treated everyone kind and he enrolled me in the system since it was my first time to go there. Then the nurse and the doctor were both so nice and kind and they asked me patiently about what had happened and how was my situation and what were my concerns. They conforted me kindly saying 'I will be fine. Don't worry too much' and they gave me the vaccine injection and talked to me nicely. Now I was out of any concerns.
It was a really pleased experience in 'After Hours Doctor Hobart' and I truly recommend to go there!

Receptionist and Dr Bahman Ranjbah were both lovely but I was unaware that this isn’t the after hours urgent care clinic. That’s at the front and is a bulk billing service as publicised in the Mercury. However you’ll wait ages at the front. The practice at the back is a normal private practice which makes appointments, so you’re not stuck waiting forever but it is a private clinic so just as expensive as seeing any after hours doctor. Expect to pay $135 on a Saturday and get a Medicare rebate of $55.

Excellent service
The new Urgent Care Clinic has been a long time coming and seems to be working as it should. Was in and out within 1.5hrs with an embedded fish hook, so much better than taking up room in ED.

This is the best after hours Doctor in Southern Tas. Their door is open, not locked with the nicest receptionist I've ever met.
The Doctor actually examined my daughter and then requested a follow up, unlike other after hours Doctors, who throw a script at you and tell you to follow up with your regular GP.
The pharmacist was right there, on site, with very nice and helpful staff.
The building felt warm and welcoming rather than cold and sterile. Nice paintings in the waiting room rather than awful posters about sickness and death.
Most Dr's have only offered us telephone appointments for the past year so it was nice to see some caring faces without the uncomfortable stress of waiting in the ER.
Thank you for being so nice, I hope you never change.

Had cause to attend this surgery again today.
Was treated by Dr Bahman. He diagnosed a problem that two other doctors had missed.
He was very professional and a credit to the surgery.
We attended this surgery today. The counter staff were attentive.
But a special thankyou to Dr Baldock. He was thorough and his bedside manner was top drawer.
Highly recommended.

I saw the triage nurse I was told there was 2 people in front of me that the wait would not be too long as my son was getting very restless tired and hungry.
Those 2 people were seen then it was meant to be our turn but then they started calling people that arrived after us. 2 people after us had been seen and we will still waiting left without being seen would not recommend this place very pathetic.

I sat in the clinic waiting and then realised that everyone who came after me went in to see the nurse and the doctors and left so I went to the receptionist and asked when I was likely to be called as it's already an hour an a half then she casually told me 'oh I know why, because there is another patient with the same name as yours', I thought to myself really! my name is Seema and it's quite unique! Anyway have been sitting here for 2 hours now still has not seen the doctor........won't recommend

Though you get an appointment quick but my daughter who had ear infection was given a ear wax removal liquid and ask to wait and see. I had mentioned about her pain as well. She was in a great pain and i went to my GP who suggested antibiotics instantly. My daughter had to wait 2 days and bear the pain just in assumption that she had excess ear wax.
Bit disappointed

Person who is wealthy they will book them for 20mins and turn on timer after that they will involve you in their conversation and makes you spend literally 21.50 mins they will charge straight double amount no humanity no kindness only business.

If Dr Merhdad spent as much time on diagnosing and treating a condition, rather then constantly telling people about his certificates on the wall in regards to pain management, he'd go a long way. Constant refusal to actually listen to treatment plans in place via current GP, and inability to stick to that plan is a serious concern. You are an after hours GP, you do not have the right to rubbish other GPs in Hobart, then proceed to offer unsolicited advice about how you 'Don't care what other doctors think of you, GP work is easy money'.

If people need a repeat script as they can't attend current GP for whatever reason, you do not have the right to change long-term meds and flat out refuse to offer a repeat script for them, then tell patients that 'Most GP's in Hobart aren't proper Doctors like Me and they shouldn't prescribe X medication because if they do they are failures and don't care'. Then proceeds to prescribe something completely off label because doing a course in pain management apparently makes him more knowledgeable than a surgeon with 30 years experience in neurosurgery. Neurosurgeon then proceeds to inform patient that said GP is well known for utter incompetence.

You also don't get to tell a patient they are overweight and lazy when you don't know medical history, especially when you are obese yourself.

DO NOT try and take any issues up with management as they just don't care. The pricing structure here is deliberately exorbitant. Dr Merhdad especially, likes to spend 10 minutes minimum on unrelated questioning before asking why you are there in order to then charge for a double appt. It's only a matter of time before this Doctor seriously injured someone.

The pharmacy is hands down the most expensive pharmacy I've ever come across in Australia, including those in remote areas. They do not honour government pricing for those on pensioner concession cards or health care cards. Charging $30 for 4 Endone (that's right, 4) is more expensive than getting it off Jimmy the Junkie down the street.

Dr Badcock is the only doctor here who practices with any form of integrity and care.

What was brilliant at the start is now nothing more than a half way house for failed GP's who can't get a position anywhere else.

To management, I hope you are reading these reviews and taking notice. Hobart is a small enough place that the general advice from GPs and specialists is to avoid you at all costs. Fix the issues because you are now at the tipping point of no return.
It's time you overhaul the business model and stop ripping off the people of Hobart and surrounds in their time of need.

Worst experience ever. Had to wait for more than 1 hour. They don't value your time.
