This business is not only the best clinic in cairns but is surely the best business in Cairns. The receptionist staff bend over backwards to accommodate, the nurse was knowledgeable and compassionate and every vet there is skillful, knowledgeable and cares far more about their patients and owners than money. They are more than reasonably priced and are proactive. I have been to five different vets in cairns and this one is 100 per cent better. They are all truly amazing people.

Our Great Dane is now 12 and a half years old and this surgery has looked after him his whole life (he even went through puppy school here). On average, we really only visit twice a year - vaccinations and large breed maintenance issues. The advise and care we receive are always fantastic even though we don't always see the same vet. As any extra large dog owner knows, care can be expensive, but I always find their fees reasonable and basic.

Excellent veterinary service with lovely staff. My puppy attended their puppy preschool with Chelsea the fantastic vet nurse and trainer. We saw Dr Matsui for vaccines/checkup who was extremely thorough and helpful. All the staff are lovely. Would highly recommend bringing your pet to this clinic!

They Also offered good advice and helped choose the right products and options for future treatments and visits.
The opening hours are also good for workers who have minimal free time during the week.

I could not fault the performance of this Veterinary surgery.
They saved my fur baby, from what was inevitable death, from a mystery illness.
The love and care they showed her, was second to none and after all the days of expert care, the bill was a mere fraction of what I believed possible.
These guys truly care about your animal, as only you believed you could.

Great surgery been there for years also i dont need to go often as i do not vaccinate my animals. Good vets good prices night time after hrs the best price in town by 130 cheaper. Very caring surgery. I trust them although owners changed recently.

Took my dog in for a consultation with concerns of a turned stomach. Staff were very helpful and understanding.
We had Akihiro look at Luna and he was incredibly friendly and she loved him right away.

If you wanted to know where the cats of the former Orange Vet Dr. Sheila Gadaloff go now she's retired - Dr. Max is it! Deals with all three of my fluffy goofballs (Jack, Thelma and Fat Aggie) for vaccinations, radiography, grooming and is doing his best managing both mum, me and the health of our aging cats. Glad there's still a brilliant vet in my home town I can recommend.

My cat was acting very strange, called the team at Balaclava and they organised a drop in appointment for me. It was easy and the staff were friendly. Dr Max is amazing. Thank you to everyone for making a stressful time that bit easier.

Our family has been taking our pets to Max for nearly 30 years, at Greencross Vets then followed him when he moved to Balaclava Vets. Cannot speak highly enough of Max and his team, Jason and Aki and the vet nurses. Not over priced, excellent attention, compassionate, after hours and overnight hospital facilities available. Highly recommended.

I first went there in an after hours emergency a while back and they were outstanding and reasonable prices. Added bonus was Japanese speaking vet my Japanese wife can easily communicate with. Receptionists always polite and helpful

After finding 5 paralysis ticks on my dog at 1am, I called Balaclava Veterinary Surgery and was given a rational after-hours quote that was literally a third of the quoted price of two other 24 hour clinics in Cairns. I drove there immediately and was greeted by alert, friendly and professional staff. The team kept me updated on my dogs health status in a well informed and approachable manner. I can't speak highly enough of both the Vet and their reception staff. 10 out of 10 recommend. We will definitely be returning to them for future needs for our fur-babies.

Would like to extend our appreciation to all of the staff at the Balaclava vet surgery, particularly Nadia who provided care for our late cat Mac. We came to this surgery on Boxing Day in a desperate situation with a very unwell cat. Despite being over the Christmas period they made themselves available in what was a very heartbreaking situation for myself and my wife and I really appreciate the care, kindness and compassion they showed to both us and Mac. I thought their pricing was very reasonable and I plan to return in future to this vet with our other pets, hopefully in better circumstances.

My cat was in a emergency due to the constipation vomiting and then pale. They just told me to bring cat in asap and will squeeze in whenever Dr. have spare time. I felt survived and Dr. decisions and procedures were quick and accurate. The billing was clear and also reasonable as well.
