Great Ocean Walk - Walk 91

We had an amazing girls weekend away hiking this trail (self guided). Walk91 made everything so easy! We didn't have to worry about a thing... Food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Accommodation was comfortable and beautiful. We felt supported and safe on the trail knowing the team at walk91 were only a text away. Our bus driver Brad was an absolute legend, lots of local knowledge and interesting stories. We will be back again!!

I cannot recommend the Walk 91 team enough. The team were fantastic to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation at the Lighthouse Keepers house in Cape Otway was amazing. The food provided was delicious. The Great Ocean Road walk is out of this world so much to see and well worth doing. I cannot wait to complete the next section sometime next year. Also if you want a really nice meal in Apollo Bay you cannot go past the Vault or Casalinga.

My sister & I have recently completed the GOW, using the terrific staff of Walk91 to assist us with every aspect of this adventure.
From the early planning stages and all the way through to our completion of the walk, the staff could not have been more helpful and great to deal with. Because Walk91 dealt with all of our arrangements, including accommodation before & after our walk, all transfers needed each day along the track, full catering of all of our meals (and snacks) and provision of safety items & regular check-ins, we were able to focus on the enjoyment of walking this amazing track and taking every opportunity to explore the natural wonders we encountered.
Obviously great ocean vistas were a huge part of the scenery, but there is actually so much more to this area. The wildflowers were abundant through much of the track and so the birdlife & insects were plentiful too. Amazingly we were also able to spot about 4 different native orchids growing along the track and, as an avid gardener, this was pretty special for me.
Other wildlife was certainly on show too. We had the pleasure to see koalas, wallabies, kangaroos & echidnas in their natural habitat - sadly this can be so difficult to do these days. We also searched rock pools along the shore at low tide & discovered beautiful coloured starfish & anenomes in the tidal pools.
This is just a small selection of the wonderful experiences we had over the days of our walk, and I cannot recommend it enough - If you've ever considered doing the GOW you need to contact Walk91 right now & make it a reality - you won't regret it!!

A group of 4 people aged 68, 71, 73 and 78 enjoyed The Great Ocean Walk with the superb support of Walk91. We chose the 3 nights camping/2 nights in accommodation option and it worked well for us in quite challenging conditions: temperatures in the (sometimes low) teens, showers and very damp conditions (it is a rainforest!), winds of 40+kph fortunately mostly from behind us....
Throughout we felt cared for and safe. Walk91's communication is excellent and we valued the informative conversations on transfers.
On the 2 catered nights the accommodation and food was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
The Walk itself is spectacular - just the right level of challenge - with fascinating and varied bush, spectacular coastal scenery and plenty of wildlife.

Walk 91 provided fantastic service to complement this invigorating coastal walk. From transport, communications, information (trail, Indigenous history, settler and maritime history, dinosaurs, geology, & where to eat and drink in Apollo Bay) and walk tips to 'get away from it all' accommodation and delicious food. Focus on the fun and less on the logistics.

We highly recommend Walk 91 as the way to do the Great Ocean Walk. They are super organized, friendly, and easy to deal with. We did the 7 day walk and it was an excellent experience. The accommodations they chose for us were amazing - in great locations, friendly hosts, and fabulous food. We're running out of superlatives!
Seriously consider Walk 91 if you want to do the Great Ocean Walk.

Thoroughly enjoyed my walk on the GOW. What made it great was I just had to BE, enjoy the moment and the experience. Everything was taken care off. Minimal people, Minimal demands and pressure. Rather put one foot in front of the other, look around, smell the Eucalyptus trees, see natures beauty both the Otways and the sea. Look into the trees and seeing koalas asleep. Beautiful. What more can you want from a hike. Thank you Walk91 for giving me permission to just BE and enjoy the experience and beauty of the Great Ocean Road.

Our group of six in their 60's had a great time completing the 7 day Great Ocean Walk. Every detail was covered by the Walk 91 team with comprehensive walking notes, maps, equipment and advice. Their shuttle service to and from the start of each day's walk was prompt with very friendly and helpful drivers - SUZIE, our driver on multiple trips, was very good along with all the guys. Our catered accommodation was very comfortable with superb meals, a real treat at the end of a day's walking. We found the trail well defined, a little challenging in places for some of us but very manageable with care. The views along the coast were absolutely spectacular and we loved spotting the koalas on the inland tracks. Thank you to Mark and the team from Walk 91 for a wonderful, memorable experience!

Walk91 were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. Can’t recommend them highly enough. From the very first communication they were responsive and respectful (no matter what questions we threw at them). The walk was well organised, pick ups and drops offs happened in a timely way and with ease, all the information and maps we needed were provided, accommodation was fantastic as were the meals. All the safety protocols were in place. We had a fabulous walk along the Great Ocean Road and Walk91 made the experience even better. We've just done the four-day 'wild side' walk through Walk 91. They organised everything ... we just had to show up. From the first enquiry to our last drop-off, everything ran completely smoothly. All members of the Walk 91 team were professional, responsive and friendly. And you can't beat local knowledge. Ours was a wonderful, rewarding and inspiring experience.

Our 6 day hike went off without a hitch. Mark and his team were flawless. Easy to communicate with and ever reliable for our pick ups, our food and our luggage. Mark provided a clear and easy to use info pack - so we never felt uncertain or vulnerable on the track. We had designated text spots, and Mark cleverly organised his team around these data points. The trail itself is magnificent - incredibly varied, very well maintained and sign posted. I would recommend the 6 day, the daily distances felt like the perfect length, and gave some time in the afternoon to relax in the excellent accommodation. Food was ample & yum! This was our first self guided trip - a great way to do it at your own pace. Our only complaint is that we wish Walk91 offered the same service on other multi-day tracks. Highly recommend doing the Great Ocean Walk with Walk91.

The Walk 91 team were super friendly and helpful.
We did the '6 Day Assisted Hiking' Package along the Great Ocean Road and it was an amazing experience. On the second last day there was an injury and the Walk 91 team were so helpful and came and picked us up from where we were - they really helped us out of a bad situation.
I highly recommend getting in touch with Walk 91 and getting them involved in your Great Ocean Walk experience. We couldn't have done it without them.

As a celebration of 50th Birthdays, our group of 6 enjoyed a wonderful 3 day self guided but catered walk from Aire River to the 12 Apostles. Walk 91 was a fantastic organisation to do this with. The information provided was excellent and all corresponsdence was answered in a timely manner. We stayed 4 nights at 'By Moonlight' which was just gorgeous and very comfortable, and gave us a home base from which Walk 91 collected us and dropped us off each day. The drivers were fabulous and the catering was delicious and plentiful. The coastline, scenery and wildlife were specatular and each section of the walk provided so much variation. We saw roos, wallabys, koalas, echidnas and yes, snakes! After reaching the Apostles we enjoyed a celecration dinner at 'The Perch at Lavers Hill' - a gorgeous local restaurant recommended by the Walk91 team. Overall a wonderful trip I can highly recommend, with the best part being that it can be catered to what suits you. Thanks Walk 91.

I used Walk91 to shuttle to Shelley Beach. The booking process was very easy and smooth. They are lovely and very professional. On the day they were on time and already waiting and they follow government rules relating to COVID

Do yourself a favour and book with Walk 91. It's just so wonderful to have the organizing all sorted, and know that at the end of the day, a comfy bed, hot shower and more awaits. We did the 'Wild Side' in April, and found the distances achievable and the scenery ever changing.
Remember to pack for all seasons and have decent hiking gear. It makes such a difference!
