Best seafood restaurant at Great Ocean Drive
The restaurant is in cooperation with local fishermen so the quality is high and the fish is fresh. Near the local harbour it's nice to sit outside and enjoy the view over Apollos bay local harbour. The fish platter is superb and also the sides like the salads and fries are tasty. The lobster is worth the money and impressed with its juiciness. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is tough but friendly. The Service is a mix of self service and service at the table.
In conclusion a culinary highlight at Great Ocean Drive.

The weather was not great but the view and food was worth it! I enjoyed every bite of my meal today. It was worth every penny. The oysters were very fresh 🦪
The seafood platter for 1 was a good portion for two of us. The fish was so chunky and thank goodness very less batter😁(unlike other fish and chip shops in Melbourne). The fish and the prawns and everything was very tender and fresh with enough chips.
Enjoyed the view from the restaurant.
I am a seafood lover and this is the best place I ever been in Melbourne.

Definitely worth a try!

We had lunch, it was fantastic!
We had the seafood platter for 1 and a half small lobster with salad.
Plenty of food for two.
The platter had large piece of fish, scallops (small but real Aussie), calamari rings (real and fresh), tiger prawns, chips, coleslaw. Everything was delicious!
The half lobster was cooked perfectly and finished over the grill. Served with Greek salad and chips. The meat was sweet, fresh and delightful. I was trying to get the meat from the lags and the staff said they would get me the cracker.
Salad and chips were both fresh and delicious.
The staff are friendly, helpful and fast!
The food was delivered to our table so quickly!
Worth the cost!
Splash out and get a meal here if your in the area, you will be happy you did😎

This place is a must visit if you are making your way through the Great Ocean Road.

Some of the most fresh seafood is served here and their menus are awesome for small or large groups. Platter options available which is what we opted for. 2 person platter with the lot (see photo) big enough for 3 I think. Generous portion and great views which only adds to the ambience of the place.

Very quick service tops it off!

First time here, and I honestly don't understand those who've given a single star review. Don't come here expecting a fine dining restaurant, sharply dressed waiters and first class atmosphere. You're eating at the wharf - it's a workplace, it's loud and it's chaotic, but that's what this place IS. The food was the best seafood I've had in a long time. We ordered a seafood platter for two, as well as a half lobster with salad and chips. Absolutely delicious. We waited no more than about 5 minutes for our order, in the middle of lunchtime. The lobster was SO tasty. The Prawns were fresh, and the calamari melted in my mouth. No, the chips weren't seasoned, but you know what? They shouldn't be - seasoning them would distract you from the seafood. Would definitely eat here again. If you enjoy your meal - tell the staff, they love getting good feedback...

What a delicious feast of seafood! Oysters were fresh. Lobster was grilled to perfection. Chips were the same as any other place you’d go to. Fried fish and calamari were yummy. The only letdown were the prawns and scallops. Food so good we finished the lobster shell.

No frills, only limited items on the menu. You order and get it served up. Platter for two and half a small lobster, and it was delish! We wiped it all clean. Fresh, tender calamari and firm seafood. Lobster was naturally sweet. They were out of oysters at 5pm, apparently they're out shortly after midday. Al fresco dining but be weary of the seagulls!

Fresh seafood and freshly cooked food on order. Everything on the menu is worth a try! Best fish & chips spot in the whole of Apollo Bay. The place closes at 7pm so get there for an early dinner before 530pm to avoid queues.

An iconic part of Apollo Bay. Delicious food, lightning service, and staff whose banter is as good as their fish batter.

Here’s how it works: bring a hat and sunscreen if it’s hot. Place your order at the counter, and memorise your order number. Pick up your order from the attendant when they call it. And then, enjoy the best and freshest seafood in Victoria.

Incredibly fresh seafood here. Everything was delicious and the portions were good for the price. When we went the weather wasn't great but if it had been, the spot is ideal as you get a good view of the waves.

Love the alfresco dining by the harbour, under watchful eyes of the seagulls. The seafood is fresh and delicious, especially calamari. We ordered half lobster and seafood platter which is enough for family of 5. Still thinking about it weeks later.

Enjoyed a whole lobster, with chips and Greek salad, to share.

Eating on the front door step of the co-op, the food was good and the views on this sunny day were lovely.

The decor is good for outdoor eating, be mindful of limited shade out on the concourse overlooking the harbour, so get in early for shaded tables & seats near the service area.

Best meal I have had in a while. Seafood tastes so fresh and batter is light but crispy. Nailed the cook on the fish and calamari, so tender and moist. Chips weren’t salted but salt and pepper provided. Slaw was a perfect accompaniment, super crisp and well balanced- cut right through the oil and fat. Scallops are super tiny though, probably my only complaint so more would be appreciated, but well cooked nonetheless. Can’t wait to come back, wish I had more stomachs.

Ps: to the guy who rated this place one star- you alright mate

Have photos here as a kid, and can see why the place is still so busy today. Such good food and honestly not a bad wait for such a busy place. Definitely worth the stop!

Absolutely incredible experience. I've had fish and chips probably about 500 times, and the Apollo Bay Co-op takes the number 1 spot. Unbelievably tasty, proper fish and chips. The scallops are off this planet, they offer far more delight than any experience, legal or illegal, anywhere has to offer. The batter on the fresh fish, as well as the girth of the fish itself - bellisimo. The chips, wow. They had winter potatoes - juicy, not too oily, but wonderfully seasoned, soft inside, crunchy outside. Chef's kiss 👌. The list goes on - octopus rings, my lord, beautiful and colourful but also actually tasty salads. Hats off to the chef, and a kiss on both cheeks. Consensually of course.

Calamari super soft and fresh.
Had the fresh local catch - Blue Eye. Firm and sweet, great with the batter.
Sauce a bit on sweeter side.
Great overall experience

This place is what a fish fry shop should be like. Authentic as it gets. They also had a veggie burger that was really good. Definitely make a spot and wait in the line for it. It moves pretty quick .

We had a special anniversary and wanted to celebrate with a crayfish dinner. A tall, older man with fair hair went out of his way to help us get what we wanted. He was so friendly and helpful. The place was extremely busy so all the food must be great there, ours was! Highly recommended!
