BARCA VIEW COTTAGE - COSY BEACH RETREAT

We are absolutely enjoying our stay in the nestled away surrounded by trees love little sea house. Great atmosphere and location and it's got all we need .lovely decorations everywhere. X

This is a very cute, well appointed and well located cottage but lacks attention to detail in the servicing. The items in the kitchen cupboard were dripping wet. There was a dead cockroach in the washing up rack, which was soaked and dirty. Pantry items are well out of date. A nest of hair was left in the shower. We found a knot of someone's hair found under the doona in master bedroom. The heater is insufficient and it's difficult to get warm enough. Also one day after arrival they started building next door. Goodbye chillaxed holiday, hello loud construction.

If I could give zero stars I would. I had booked in to go to Barca View Cottage for the weekend of my 5 year wedding anniversary. Unfortunately I became very ill with pneumonia and was unable to travel and also required to stay where I would be near a hospital. As if that wasn’t disappointing enough the venue refused to give me any form of refund (I would have been happy with even just 50%) or allow me to rebook for a different weekend. I would understand if I was just mildly unwell and had made the decision not to go however that was not the case. Being very unwell and completely unable to go I was hoping that the owners would show some compassion. Unfortunately that was not the case. I even sent through medical documentation. So I am now completely out of pocket, very unwell, and very upset for something that I had absolutely zero control over.
