Great pub! We love the food and especially the atmosphere in here. Nothing negative to say about this place. Exactly what you would expect from one of the best pubs in town.

I Love the New Sydney - it’s my go-to place when I have visitors from elsewhere, as well as a meeting place for local friends. Closest to a London pub - great atmosphere, great food and friendly welcoming staff! I love it.

We had a lovely get together for Christmas upstairs in one of the private dining rooms. The staff were fantastic at coming in and taking our drink orders, delivering our meals and always popping in to check if we needed anything. Thank you for a great evening. We will be back next year.

What a great little pub right in the middle of Hobart. Cosy, super friendly staff and a great pub meal. Very accommodating for coeliacs (gluten free) and I eyeballed the parmi, it was huge! Will certainly return.

Great pub with exceptional food and drinks. Really interesting array of changing weekly specials. Staff are all really lovely. Recommend booking a table if heading there at a peak time or have a large group.

Such a nice place for dinner and such good vibes. Went on a Sunday when Bill was performing and he played the best songs. Ash the publican was super friendly and introduced himself. Great pub!

I ate the most DELICIOUS Pulled Lamb Shoulder meal! The pea puree and crispy pinkeyes (small round potatoes) were sensational. It was no trouble to substitute the goats cheese to mayonnaise- which was fabulous. Service was attentive and very much appreciated, amongst a great atmosphere!

This is without a doubt my old faithful!! Always vibrant, with free flowing taps and a smile to serve you. Every time I come home, this is my first stop. Why not make it yours?

Wow, currently unable to flaw new Sydney hotel. Good food, generous portions and quick service; staff was able to engage in a chat and seemed happy to serve you. Couldn’t recommend more for a drink and Parma.

The New Syd is the long standing home of craft beer in Hobart. It also has very good pub food, wines and spirits. There are no screens or pokies but there's a big open fireplace at the bar. The New Syd has also long been Hobart's Irish pub with a Sat arvo muso's session that's been going for decades. Long may it continue!

A quick bite to eat before a theatrical performance at the Playhouse Theatre. Great food, wonderful selection of beers, efficient and friendly service.
