This would have to be one of the nicest places I've ever stayed at. Rooms are VERY spacious and the cleanest accommodation I've ever stayed in. Amenities are amazing. You could stay here and never go anywhere else. Swimming pool, spa, gym, sauna, tennis court etc etc.

Absolutely fabulous. Very welcoming. Facinating historic property set in 7 acres of parklands including lake (with canoes) and walk/bike tracks. Nothing was a problem. Manager, (Phillip) took us for a tour & told us about the history of it once being an orphanage for boys & maternity home for unmarried mothers. Showed us how to ride the penny-farthing! Large indoor, heated swimming pool, gym, spa, sauna, library, pool table etc. Beautifully restored, our room was gorgeous. We can't speck highly enough about this very special property & will certainly return.

Absolutely beautiful resort. The grounds are glorious with hundreds of rose bushes, beautiful gardens and a lovely lake with swans and ducks. The rooms have a nice traditional feel with modern touches. Very high ceilings and large areas make this apartment feel huge. Overall, probably the best Wyndham resort we've stayed in so far. Will come again.

Wonderful resort with a great sense of history. Excellent facilities. Check in staff could be more communicative and helpful. That said, they were always helpful and informative when we had questions. Just wish we'd been told about the nightly history tours.

We come here often for it's gorgeous, peaceful location. The heritage building takes you back but the modern facilities give you a touch of luxury. Various activities for the kids including an indoor heated pool makes it a great spot for families. Lovely grounds with picnic and bbq areas as well.

Staff friendly and happy to assist. Rooms clean & comfy. I loved the fitout of the deluxe room on 2nd floor which was in keeping with the era of building. Pool & spa great. Gardens looking beautiful. We had an awesome stay

Great, some may consider it a bit out of town but it's great, Free parking, good facility's, great & friendly staff happy to share local information. Pub up the road had great food and was in walking distance (some may think it a bit far) the walk is good for you!. Easy access to tourist places.

Great place to stay, our room had a great kitchenette, multiple bbq facilities set in the beautiful grounds and loads of activities for the kids from fishing, large snakes and ladders to paddle boats. We were close to everything including the major attractions. Staff are friendly and made us feel welcomed. We had coles deliver goods before we arrived, so we had supplies ready for us.

Consistently superior service. We often come to the Wyndham as we are impressed with their fantastic front of house service and 'can do' attitude. Nothing is too much trouble. Add to this a venue with heaps of character and excellent appointments, and you can't go wrong. I always look forward to my stays here!

Excellent weekend getaway, immaculately clean, excellent on-site features (BBQ, kids activities, pool, paddle boating, fishing, tennis, plenty of open space to just chill) and lovely staff! As a bonus, when it gets dark, you can relive The Shining hotel experience with the richly carpeted interiors & hallways.

Went here in September 2015 I honestly think that Ballarat is locked into winter for 10 months of the year, it was colder than an Eskimos you know what... Anyway, What an outstanding place to visit. Spectacular rooms, gorgeous buildings and such a beautiful feel to the whole place. The grounds were well maintained and it gave the whole Resort such a brilliant vibe from the moment you drive through the gates. We had a one bedroom apartment and it had all the amenities, and full size kitchen with all the bits we needed. Although they didn't have a functioning restaurant, we were offered meals (that are brought in from somewhere else) we opted to go out in Ballarat and experience some of the towns great restaurants and cuisine. We sadly only stayed for a few nights and wished we went for a week or more.... Maybe next time. The staff greeted us warmly, and gave us a full tour of the resort and explained the history of the buildings and how the heritage buildings and resort became part of the Worldmark chain. Price wise, it was cheap as we did it through a internet special and feel like we got more than our monies worth. Although the weather was bitter outside, they had electric blankets on the beds, and internal heating, but due to heritage buildings air conditioning was not available in our room. It was warm, the bed was extremely comfy, bathroom was spotless and the entire room was well kept and in great condition.
We will be back, maybe in December so it isn't freezing cold. Maybe I'll update my review at that point.

The hotel is beautiful, I feel like Mr Darcy will walk down the grand staircase. The grounds are beautiful and just walking around gives you the sense of peace. Everyone is helpful and friendly.

Heritage listed blue stone building located on pristine lake front acreage about 6 km from Ballarat CBD. Available for your enjoyment some but not all the facilities include picnic areas, barbecue areas, tennis, bike hire, indoor swimming pool, spa, gym and children's playground. Indoor activities include games room and lounge room with fireplace. Within 10 km of Sovereign Hill and Eureka Stockade and a couple hours drive to the Great Ocean Road. Well worth the stay in fully furnished and well appointed apartments and rooms.

Great place to kick back and relax. Lots of on grounds activities for the family, a short drive from town and shopping centres. Lovely area and lake around the heritage building, which itself is well kept and a nice place to stay.

On the edge of Ballarat but reasonably close to most amenities. Sovereign Hill is approximately 15 minutes drive, all supermarket chains and fast food are within 5 might utes drive. There pubs, restaurants and a bowls club nearby too. Accommodation is very comfy and spacious. Although the building is old, the refurbishment is a tasteful mix of modern with character.

Our experience was the best, relaxing, even though the weather was the worst, but we enjoyed our stay.

10 minutes from Ballarat city. The hotel is heritage listed and take you back to living in the Victorian era but with all modern conveniences. There is a lake to paddle on and pool, sauna and spa. No restaurant or room service but plenty of food nearby.
