Seriously if you're into Victoria's historic roldrush times this is the place to visit! the centre of the start of the Eureka Rebellion.. Monster Meeting point is the start to it all !! I love that I just stumbled across it

Really cool joint & 100% worth a visit. Bit disappointing though that you can't really get a decent look at anything, its all fenced off. Insane photo opportunity and a really nice bushwalk spot. Just out of Castlemaine. Will certainly be coming back!

Very interesting historical mine but its fenced off from the public and you can also see it from outside the fence area.

Wattle Gully Mine
Victorian Heritage site managed by Parks Victoria
was open to the public for the first time in 30 years time since it closed in 1998 for a special open day
The mine has filled with water since the pumps were turned off
Most the plant is still there
Various generations of mining technologies
Reminiscence of the old steam power to the more modern electrics
Stamp Batteries, Berdan Pan, Concentrating Table, to more modern
