Saffs Cafe

Tried the savoury scrambled eggs ($15.50) which included Sautéed mushroom, spinach, spring onion, cheese and tomato mixed through creamy scrambled eggs on toast. Really filling, scrambled eggs were creamy and loved the mixture of different ingredients. Great variety of menu items and vegetarian options available too.

Food was really good. If you are really hungry or starving, make sure to order as soon as you figure out wjat to eat since the waiting for the food is a bit long but because they really cook it deliciously. 😅

Overall I was truly impressed by this cafe. The prices were fair and reasonable especially for a breakfast/brunch place ( wasn’t $20 for some eggs on toast). The coffee was great along with the hot chocolate. I had the savoury scrambled it was delicious full of fresh tasting ingredients. Customer service was friendly as well. Only slight negative (if I’m being fussy) was the potato rosti was a tiny bit oily.

But overall highly recommended cafe in Castlemaine with great prices and friendly staff. I will return

Loved the food with a lovely ambience of their dining experience. Been here twice with friends, we've all loved it - Dined inside and outside on another occasion. Beautiful tasty food, nice sized servings and not expensive. Staff very friendly... Seems to get busy around main eating times. Definitely a must visit if passing through Castlemaine. THANKS for a relaxing dining experience!!

Such a vibrant atmosphere even on a Sunday morning... Quick service... And now a bad Turkish role... Inside and outside seating... But above everything, superb coffee.

Ordered the saffs burger for lunch and was a very enjoyable meal. Large burger with chips for under $20 which was great value. The Cafe was extremely busy but wait time wasn't long at all.

Visiting Castlemaine for a couple days and Saffs our go to. Coffee was amazing, food delicious and super friendly staff. Highly recommend!

All the reviews said that this was a great place to dine in . They were all spot on . Staff were friendly & attentive . Food was top notch & very well priced . Will be going back again when in the area next time 👍

Awesome little Cafe. Went here twice for breakfast in 3 days and couldn't fault a thing. Service prompt and friendly, reasonably priced and very quick to bring food out considering how busy they were.

Saffs was a great random find. My Caesar salad was really good with just the right combination of ingredients. It’s easy to see why they were busy. Service was good despite the busyness.

Waiters were amazing such incredible service, serving size was huge maybe a little too much holindase sauce but eggs were perfect xx

Had the best BLT and iced coffee while visiting for the weekend. Lovely vibe sitting outside, love the heritage building and the staff are so lovely. Highly recommend.

Great value for money, love the fact the lunch menu is all day. Coffee was good and food came out quickly.

Love Saffs. Staff are super friendly and attentive, Coffee is great, all day breakfast and lunch options. You can enjoy indoor or outdoor dining...
and they have gender non specific restrooms, which I think is a fantastic reflection of diversity and inclusion.
*That said, I think from memory there's a step or two, which might not be as simple for someone in a wheelchair to access... but I'm willing to bet that the staff would find a way to make sure *everyone* was able to feel comfortable, without that being made an issue.
They also have high chairs too, and might help you park a pram somewhere it won't be in the way.

Be patient. COVID restrictions have hit hospitality venues hard. Please remember that, if you do have to wait, cause it's worth it.

Saffs is busy and popular for all the right reasons.

Great spot to have a nice lunch or brunch! Beautiful garden or inside is nice also. All our food was 10/10 tastes amazing and was simply presented. Coffee was good and the kids loved the milkshakes. Highly recommended the chicken burger, although menu had lots of great options, and they catered for my child's needs also without hesitation!!!

Was great food and service - tip: we sat out front which was fine but only realised there was a lovely garden / courtyard space out the back when we went in to pay - so check that out first !

Lovely place for daytime eating and very good coffee. We had the breakfast: bircher muesli and vegan breakfast. See the picture. Lovely old building too, which I learnt from a tourist tour yesterday that was the red light area of Castlemaine back in the gold rush days.

A popular local cafe with friendly staff and good service. The ultimate burger was of a substantial size, with plenty of ingredients, although the fries were a little soggy to my liking. Otherwise the food was great and a good atmosphere to be in.

Great simple and tasty food and good coffee, along with good service make this a winning combination

Was wet and busy. Was greater quickly at the door. Was politely told a 10 min wait for table. 3 minutes later the had fitted us in. Coffee was quick and hot. Food was great. Lovely atmosphere with all the band poster on the wall. I had see most of the amazing bands so made it even better.
