BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park

Really incredible spot looking over a valley and park. Very lush tent. Great service. I got given extra milk for my tea by a really lovely person. So that was nice. The town was also a delight. I would definitely stay again.

Great caravan park 90 minutes from Melbourne.
This park is super neat & tidy with great facilities. We love the location, which is right next to the Botanical Gardens and across from the Mill. This place is our go to destination for a quick weekend getaway. Dog friendly all year round too!
Castlemaine is a gorgeous little town and well worth a visit.

I stayed 3 nights at the BIG4 in Castlemaine. It’s a great location right next to the Botanic Gardens and perfect for walking the dog, also very welcome at this park. Clean and updated facilities, lots of accomm options, I was in my van. Due to the very dry conditions everywhere in Victoria it was a bit dusty and the ‘grass’ was sadly not green. However other gardens are well planned and cared for.
The staff were terrific and always friendly and helpful.
Walking distance to some great attractions and the dog friendly Furphy Bridge Hotel (even let the dog through the pub to the rear beer garden).

We had a wonderful stay. When we pulled up, it was pouring rain. Andrew was lovely enough to find us a less muddy site, and brought us a mat and some larger pegs for our tent.
The location is perfect, right near the Mill and has a path straight down to the botanical gardens.
We watched a movie in the games room while it was raining, and the kids loved the adventure course.
Service is great, would definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved our site, loads of room, with a view out towards the forest. Loved our walks and visits to the brewery.. An easy walk from the park, clean, quiet well maintained brilliant park thank you ☺

We had an amazing stay, all thanks to the spectacular staff! The views were breathtaking and our stay was so relaxing. The park and all amenities are clean, will be definitely returning.

We had a wonderful Glamping experience.
We stayed in luxury tent which fit a family of 5-6 or friends. I felt like one night stay was not enough.
Very well cleaned, comfortable.

LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤ 😍 💖 I honestly can't say anything negative, Set in the beautiful historic town of Castlemaine, this Big 4 park is immaculate as are the facilities. Staff are very welcoming. The park is right next to the botanical gardens, which is a beautiful walk. The local swimming pool, parks, and multiple activities for families, children, and adults are all in the vicinity. Only negative is we were only here for the night. I will be back for sure.

Very friendly welcome providing all the information I needed for my stay. Spotlessly clean cabin in a well planned and meticulously maintained park. Great setting next to the Botanic gardens and lake with the old cotton mill and all it has to offer directly across the road. The linen and towels were exceptional. Great hot shower too. Stayed here in our caravan a few times last couple years and always had a great experience. Clean facilities, super friendly staff and great location with both The Mill and Bridge Hotel over the road and botanic garden’s next door.

Excellent facilities and friendly customer service! The luxury glamping setup has everything you need - intimate and romantic space, with a private deck area to enjoy the tree top view and birdlife. The park itself is in an ideal location - situated only a short walking distance to the township of Castlemaine and neighbours the beautiful botanical Gardens. Highly recommend considering the Big4 for your next stay, if seeking comfortable and affordable accommodation.

A great caravan park with lots of facilities to enjoy camping in a tent, caravan or a cabin. Located adjacent to Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, local outdoor pool, bush walk/cycling track and the Mills artesian food and craft precinct ensures that there is plenty of activities for all ages to do whilst staying at Big 4 Castlemaine.

Had a great few days there. Very friendly staff. The amenities were very clean and the park looks amazing with all the site upgrades.

What an amazing place! We really enjoyed our anniversary, very relaxing and peaceful, perfect for a weekend away.

Cons: Not the most kid friendly place, but I knew that before booking. Originally planned to go to Bendigo but it was full.
Games room was really ordinary. My 10yo laughed at the selection. Its a small park, with not a lot to do in the parks boundaries.

Pros: Theres plenty of wonderful monuments and atteactions within a short drive. Theres a brewery in walking distance. Thers a lovely park next door with ducks and ponds. There is a brewery across the road. I also note there is a fantastic brewery nearby. Historic town of Maldon is a short drive; ice cream and lolly heaven! I didnt see a brewery there, but there is a really nice place to shop in The Mill when you get back to Castlemaine. conveniently located next to the brewery.

Loved everything about this Big 4. Right next to some beautiful botanical gardens and across the road from a great cafe. Nice big site for our large caravan and staff friendly and helpful. Dog friendly a bonus.

Great park to stay, we had a powered site for our camper trailer. Plenty of room to set up, good amenities and facilities, friendly staff and good location to the Mill and not too far away from the town centre. Great to take a walk through the botanical gardens with easy access. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Stayed at the bell tent for a Saturday night. Easy access when you are provided with instructions. The staff were attentive. The room was clean and cosy. The park is well maintained. The toilet & shower were a bit of a walk but manageable. Had to chase up check-in twice but overall a great experience.

Absolutely 💯 place to stay it has such beautiful scenery and lovely people that respect you . Can't get over how clean the toilet and showers were kept 👌.

We are always happy to stay at Big 4 Castlemaine. Love the view over the gardens and the birds that visit us.
We enjoy meeting new people and talking with the very friendly staff of the park. Apparently this was our 30th visit. I think it is actually a few more than that!
Love Castlemaine 2 hours door to door for us. There are some excellent restaurants in the area too.
Also a good place for retail therapy.
