I am so glad my friends and i decided to try somewhere new! We had an amazing dinner tonight at Zafira in Moonah.

We shared many dishes and all dishes were absolutely delicious. I didn't get a photo of the balini (stuffed bread). The dipping sauce was so good (you can buy a bottle to take home too).

The kebab was extra delicious! I believe the meat is cooked in the amazing dipping sauce (coriander chilli garlic vinegar etc).

We are absolutely stuffed! I am so surprised that they weren't busier on a Friday night!

Highly recommended! Great way to directly support members of the local Afghan community.

There was also a selection of deserts available but we were too full to try these!

Zafira foods is one of the authentic Afgani restaurant in Hobart. Food is very delicious specially the mixed kebab. They have charcoal grilled kebabs served with rice. They have a long menu with veg and meats. Moreover they have a range of different desserts. Highly recommend. It is a halal restaurant. Check the time or contact with them because they are open for lunch and dinner only from Thursday-Saturday. Sunday is closed. Rest other days only lunch is served.

Great vegan food options. This place is a bit of a hidden gem. I look forward to returning soon.

Great Afghan food, floor mats and cushions make for a really lovely experience too, it will be on our regular places to eat list.

Great food made by great people. The Afghani menu is delicious and filling. We had the banquet which was good value for money and had a fantastic range of dishes. I only wish they could have the Afghani decor throughout the entire restaurant, seems a shame to be tucked away in the corner. All in all would highly recommend.

I have wanted to try here since the Gardening Australia episode, finally nearby today and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing.

Very helpful staff member who advised us with the appropriate amount of food for 3 meat eaters and 1 vegan so that there was a good mix of dishes we could all eat. Food was delicious and filling. Quick service too!

Totally authentic Afghanistan food.
The lady who runs it is extremely friendly, she provides fresh dishes daily.
I found the food to be quite surprising as I normally would have equated lentels , chick peas and the like to boring food with questionable flavor.
The spicy dishes are a little too spicy for myself so if you are like me , with a history of indigestion and reflux you should avoid it, mind you it tastes lovely.
The premises is off the main restaurant strip but we'll worth the detour.
There is a dine in area of basic tables and chairs. I was told by the owner that they are going to set up a store at Salamanca.
This food is a lovely change to most other options and is a very healthy option.

Extremely friendly people. Good food. Exotic setup with cushions and carpets at the back of the café. You could be Aladdin enjoying a meal in there. Don't be put off by the outside, go in to discover

Great place to go for a lunch, curry and rice. If you get a bolani bread, I'd recommend sharing it with a plus one, they're huge!

Excellent take away food range and the Afghan foods and juices are delightful as well. Watch out for the meat in the lamb kebob, it's quite arguably the best prepared in town.
