Impeccable honest service by a young couple giving it a go in the outback. On a Sunday I had a breakdown out of Croydon, I had to stand on the van roof to get enough reception to call RACQ. Within 2hrs Jarrod had traveled the 100+ km to rescue me. He took me and the van to the camp ground and while it took a few days to get parts and repair, his service was very honest and efficient. He could have ripped me off blind being in the position I was in. But I was so pleasantly surprised when I picked up the car. The total price including the towing and repair was so much less than expected.

When we arrived in Normanton from the Sunshine Coast, we realised we had an issue with our truck. Even though they were flat out, Jarrod made the time to check everything thoroughly. His expertise is very comprehensive and he made the whole experience easy. Plus fixed the issue quickly. Highly recommend them.

We needed a clutch replacement and rolled into Normanton on the back of a truck; Jarrod was flat out busy but still made time to help us. He kept us informed with the order and delivery of parts, and had it all fixed up (even working a little later on a Friday evening) to get us back on the road by the weekend. He was friendly and helpful, and explained everything as it progressed.

Split a CV boot up at the Cape.
Called the team at Gulf Auto and Ashen had a replacement CV assembly shipped over from Cairns to be installed a week later, dealing with me being in no service and scratchy Sat phone signal.
Jarrod had it installed along with a last minute spare tyre and rim replacement on our van, then checking all fluids on the car ready for our long haul back to Adelaide.
Nothing was too much trouble for them to help us out.

My partner and I had been travelling back from NT, we had been having what we thought were starter motor issues, but thought it would be best to test the battery just incase, I rang Jarrad Friday who was good enough to squeeze us in Saturday mid morning when we were passing through.
After testing the battery and some great trouble shooting from Jarrad and the boys, he realised it was worn out battery terminal clamps, replaced both the positive and negative, tidied up some wiring and no more starting issues. The truck Fired up first time and every time since.
Not to mention saving us hundreds of dollars we would have spent on a new starter motor.
Thanks Jarrad, you’re an absolute legend and we’re very grateful for your help and service.

We needed a radiator flush after replacing the header tank. Was very last minute but Jarrod fit us in and picked up another issue that we had fixed in Cairns. He was awesome, definitely recommend this place.

Had a number of jobs on my trusted 100 series Landcruiser carried out by the team at Gulf Auto Repairs, Normanton. Jarrod (owner) runs a good shop with a young team of mechanics who know their stuff and appear to work well together. The “rose among the thorns” is Jarrod’s wife, Ash, who does a great job managing the office and finances. I was more than happy to give my business to a young couple with a young team who are making a go of it in a remote area.

Pulled in late afternoon to Gulf Auto Repairs with a leaky wheel bearing. They saw us straight away, jacked it up and checked it all out. No work required but wouldn't take any $$s for their time. Great service, thanks guys.
