Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park (Accommodation Hotel Powered Unpowered Sites Camping Pool BBQ)

We highly recommend staying at Karumba Point Sunset Caravan Park. As a couple, travelling full time in a 21.6' caravan with our 20 year old cat, we originally booked a powered site for 10 days, then extended our stay for another 7 days.
As previous reviews have mentioned, the sites are a little tight, however, our caravan (with sun shade side sail/ privacy screen attached), 200 series landcruiser, outdoor table and chairs and bicycles all fit on the site, with enough room for us to move around comfortably.
The sites are shady and the caravan park staff manage dust suppression on the roads regularly. The amenities are old, however clean, with showers offering plenty of hot water. We haven't used the laundry, as we have our own onboard. The swimming pool and playground are very popular with everyone and the fish cleaning area is fantastic. There is a Cafe, with an excellent undercover area, which is utilised as an entertaining area also for when bands visit. They had a couple come and play one night during our stay, which was a great night.
The caravan park itself is walking distance to the boat ramp (where you will board the boats for your tours and fishing charters), or stroll up the beach and fish from, the tavern (for a magical sunset view and photo opportunities) Ash's Cafe (for the best fish and chips). The caravan park has a small shop at reception that carries most things you will need while on holidays, otherwise directly alongside the caravan park, there is a 4km path way that goes to Karumba centre, which we rode our bikes along to get groceries from as we needed to replenish stocks. It was a great ride and we stopped for a lemon lime bitters at the Animal Bar (Red Hot Chilli Pepper, wrote a song about it), before our ride back.The staff and management are all lovely and nothing we have asked for has been too much trouble. They booked our fishing charter for us too and when I messed up the date, they fixed it for us. We will definitely be back again.

Lovely park great amenities. Walk across road to access beach although no swimming there for obvious reasons. Great pool at park though. Easy walk to local hotel and cafes and nice beer garden and Cafe on site.

Family friendly with a playground and pool. There’s a nice little bbq are for people who don’t have cooking access. The amenities are clean, the staff is kind and the location is perfect for those looking to wander over somewhere for a bite to eat without driving.

Had a relaxing stay in this pet friendly park. Saw a few dogs unrestrained by selfish owners, it is a privilege to be able to holiday with our pets. Walk to seafront pub( pet friendly). Motel next door to pub has great tappas & cocktails. Across the road great fish & chips. Special mention to grounds person Pierre, always busy. Recommend

I wish all dog owners would pick up their dog S##t , or leave your dogs at home if you think you are too good . Every caravan park has these people and you will stuff it up for all of us if you keep it up. Love this park🥰

Nice caravan park with free wifi...which is helpful since there is no mobile service in the area. All the staff were super friendly and always said hello when you walked past them. The park is well maintained and had a new playground. You're also right next to the boat ramp if you have a boat. The Sunset Bar is walking distance and seems to be the place to hangout in the early evening as they have happy hour from 4-6pm everyday. The caravan park is a welcome oasis after driving many kilometres without much else around. I would definitely stay here again.

This would have to be one of the best parks I've stayed at. Very cleanly maintained, neat and with friendly staff, great location. I would highly recommend a visit.

We decided to stop here on our journey. The cabin we had was clean and comfortable. Facilities for caravanners and campers are very good. It is a very friendly place, the owners and staff all go out of their way to help. Very kid friendly, the pool is great. Pet friendly, there is even a pet washing facility. Wood fired pizza night was excellent, delicious. We were very impressed and recommend this spit to anyone, close to the boat ramp and a quick walk to Sunset Tavern. Just across the road from the shoreline with fabulous sunset views. The kangaroos in the car park after sunset is interesting

We have just stayed here for a week and we had a great time. They turned on the weather for us 29 degrees every day and it’s right across the road from the water. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Carolyn and Dave. The amenities were clean and the pool was refreshing and we would certainly recommend staying here.

Cleanest caravan park in the outback. Very friendly staff. Lovely touches like music in bathrooms and a mop to clean up. Best sunset straight across the road. Fishermans paradise. Dirt road watered to cheek dust down. Highly recommend.

We have our own caravan, and we love the location of the park. The staff are friendly and amenities are nice and clean.

Beautiful villas, beautiful people such a pleasure to stay in such a family safe caravan park. 100% my family will be back and bring more with us to enjoy it. So comfortable and the villas were nicely presented. Close to good fishing spots.

FANTASTIC! Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic, clean facilities. Awesome pizza Friday nights. Dogs are welcome - even a dogwash facility. Didn’t want to leave. Can't wait to go back next near.

Fabulous place. Friendly helpful staff and clean and tidy... this place is a stones throw from the sunset taven and the boat ramp. It is cheap for a powered site and despite what some reviews say, you are NOT packed in like sardines....If anyone wants to see what packed in is like, go to the big 4 at Alice Springs. Thankyou for sharing your town and park with us.

Best park in Karumba and right on the beach! Walking distance to great pub (and sunset view) and lovely pool at the end of a long day fishing

We had a great time here just off tourist season so there was plenty of space. Pool was great. Good fish cleaning facilities best I have seen.very clean showers and toilets. Right near boat ramp and where tours leave from and 200m to pub.

Stayed in an en-suite cabin Jun 2017. Very good cabins, modern, spacious, clean, well equipped. The park is large and ideally located next to the water. Staff were excellent with regular speciality nights - their pizza was excellent.

A very nice place to stay. Good amenities. Walking distance to the Sunset Tavern. Great facilities for the fisher person. New(ish) boat ramp across the road. I would stay there again.
